It is an institution and a restaurant empire in the city. The location we went to is on a very busy street, and due to the temperature, we decided to brave it and sit on the sidewalk. It did not disappoint. Their menu is very large, but anything will be good. We ordered to start the tasty Cac⁄k, which is a dip of yogurt, Garlic Cucumber and oil and the ÛmamBay which is eggplant in paprika. Wow! For the main course, we ordered Adana Kebap, which is minced Meat on the skewer with Rice and Salad. Incredible. The Turkish bread was a must, and they kept it coming. One glance at this place and it certainly looks homey if not rather like a one pot, buffet, fast food kind of style. There was counter full of prepared food in the back and you can pick and choose your meal from thy selection. No there's nothing created here a la minute but the price kind of reflects that. While I can't comment on the authenticity of the food, I can say without a doubt it is tasty...for the most part. Everything does indeed taste "homey" as every dish is sort of a mis-mash of different vegetables and meats in a consistent sauce. By that I mean most of the dishes have similar sauces a tastes quite similar despite it having different ingredients. The rice is a nicely prepared with fantastic texture and just the right amount of squeakiness to them all the while still soft and pillowy. The chicken is sightly dry but very nicely compensated with the great sauce that it's bathed in. Sadly this meal wasn't quite as memorable as I had hope for. Unlike the Turkish cuisines I have had in the past there wasn't one or more dishes I would recommend of you must order. The establishment is clean, looks new, and has a wide variety of Turkish breakfast options and bakery items. I saw quite a few foreigners and tourists, so I'm guessing it might be on a guidebook. I ordered a breakfast of eggs scrambled with sausage, which came with cheese, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, simit, and bread. At 8 euros it wasn't cheap, but a nice way to enjoy Turkish breakfast in a courtyard.
