Wow. Ich dachte that this lugar was nur another trap de las turistas cos it's so near das Haus am Checkpoint Charlie. ¡ay caramba! Mit the suggestion of the waiter (who had the same smooth movements as a pianist pouring drinks and setting them on the table), wir tried the cava sangria con cava. Nuestro mesero made a few mistakes with the dishes (missed unser patatas bravas and brought uns die falsche plato), but the food was fantastic. Some might call it too salty, but I thought meine dish was perfect. The papas era muy schmeckt, and the cooked the way I try to cook them myself. The chicken stuffed mit ham und queso was moist and grilled well. My wife's seafood was fantastiche. Das wirklich schmeckt. Try these dishes.

We have a really strange habit of eating in places called Barcelona when we're on holiday, so as soon as we spotted this little restaurant on the way to our hotel we knew we had to try it. It was cemented by the fact that we love Spanish tapas, and a friend also recommended it to us as being some of the best tapas he's had. Whilst I wouldn't go that far, I did thoroughly enjoy it! Just a stones throw from Checkpoint Charlie, Barcelona is surprisingly secluded which makes a nice change from the touristy hustle and bustle. They have a very thorough cocktail menu and the wine menu seemed decent at a glance also. In terms of the food selection, they offer pretty much everything you would expect from a Spanish tapas restaurant. We were only stopping for lunch so *tried* to be good and just order four - Patatas Bravas, Albondigas (meatballs), Chorizo and the Croquettes - but we still ended up with a bit too much food. Isn't that always the way? Food was really great, however the menus could have done with a bit more in terms of descriptions. Staff were absolutely lovely and happy to give us recommendations of other things to do in the city. It was pretty affordable and all in all a nice little find!

First night out in Berlin!…read more I came here with 2 others and we were lucky to have a seats because it appeared to have been full from all the reservations! I suppose this is quite the popular place! The reason this placed captured my attention was that it is a gastro bar...something I enjoy! TKOKOA is a Spanish and French fusion gastro bar...something I have never tried! So here's what we ordered: BREAD - Complimentary Slice sourdough bread that should have been brought out way in the beginnjng. I'm only complaining because we were starving and they didn't bring this to us until after we ordered :(. I was surprised there was no butter given; given that this is a part French restaurant! FENNEL RISOTTO (3 Textures) - €6,80 This would have to be my favorite out of the 3 because it's so unique and I don't think I would have ever orders it. Also it is called risotto, there actually is none. The fennel on this duh was made 3 ways: chopped up to look like risotto, cut into thin and wide slices to look like pasta, and creamed into a foam. The "pasta" fennel was placed lm a bed of the chopped fennel and was surrounded by the foam and I enjoyed every bit of it! It had a subtle creamy and rich enough taste with no guilt feeling because there were no carbs in here ;) SUCKLING PORK BELLY w/MUSHROOMS & GREEN APPLES - €7,90 I immediately orders this because I just love pork belly. The pork belly itself was good; not amazing but I enjoyed it enough. It was tender, flavorful but didn't have that pork belly feeling. The green apples tasted like chutney which I didn't care for but the I did enjoy the mushrooms it came with. All of this was placed on some mashed potatoes and gravy, which was delicious because the gravy came from the juices of the pork, which I also used for dipping the complimentary bread! Yum! GRILLED SOL w/AVOCADO CREAM - €7,90 I was quite impressed with this dish. As simple as it looks, the dish was thinly cut and therefore had plenty of flavor in every bed! The best part of this was the hidden spread of avocado cream under a bed of fresh spinach! The creaminess gives this plate that rich taste and balanced the safely flavor of the sol. I enjoyed this one very much! JACK DANIELS ICE-CREAM w/CHOCOLATE SAUCE & CHESTNUTS - €5,60 We were disappointed to how long it took for them to prepare one scoop of ice cream! I mean were they still milking the cow?! By the one we were going to cancel the daily special dessert they were already making it. This tiny portion was quite delicious. I didn't taste much jack Daniels in the ice cream and the chocolate sauce tasted like hot cocoa! I liked it but it took too long to be fought out. Although the staff were friendly, everything felt slow or neglected. It took them awhile to bring ha our menus, complimentary bread, and out dessert. It's a quite restaurant for sure and the food was tasty, but since portions are small (tapas style) I felt it was pricey.

The venison with potatoes and bacon was savory and delicious. The piquillo peppers stuffed with celery purée was a great appetizer. We enjoyed the perfectly crisp skin of the mackerel that was perfectly cooked. They also have specials that keep things fresh. Price for two with one drink a piece was 45 EUR. It's a small splurge by Berlin standards but a steal for the quality and hospitality. The space is well composed and good for couples and groups up to 8-10. I recommend sitting inside unless you enjoy fellow diners ruining your and their palette by smoking or being interrupted by beggars. Look forward to going back!
