This is a little hole in the wall kind of place, where you can tell almost all of their customers are locals. It's mostly a take out place although they do have about 6 tables if you prefer to eat in (there's no such thing as ambiance here unless you're in the mood for the neighborhood mom and pop diner feeling). The good thing is, it's pretty obvious these locals keep on coming back and that's because the food is real good and fresh as well as very fairly priced. A small fish and chips cost just under 7 pounds and was more than big enough sized for lunch.
This is pretty much a fish and chips spot, although they will grill your fish for you as well, and I must say, this is the BEST fish and chips I've had in London to-date. Granted everyone has their own tastes and that "best" moniker is used everywhere but let me tell you, it was cooked just right, nice crunchy batter with nice and tender haddock tucked inside (you can choose from about 5 fish choices for them to fry up for you).
I will definitely be going back here there's no doubt, it's in a random location but if you are in Balham and craving some fish and chips, this is a great spot to hit up! read more
