Then when I went to check out I should have only paid $15 copay but was charged for the retina exam. WHen I returned to discuss the charge they said only the manager could process the refund. She was busy with a customer trying on glasses. I left pretty unhappy . They processed the refund by phone later.

She called back with a 24 reminder the day before and all went smoothly. Following my sons appointment I scheduled my husband and myself for appointments as well. After I got our appointment time wrong and showed up way too early (even after the 24 hr. reminder), we were still accommodated! The check up was thorough. The doctor took his time giving my husband and myself a comprehensive exam, after which Hazel was especially helpful in finding the right frames that fit our budget. The office is quaint, very clean, and has a nice selection of frames. They are also very mindful of COVID mandates and do not overbook. They allow no more than 2 customers at a time for safety purposes, and clean all areas after use. The customer service is exceptional! The doctor is efficient, and precise. Janet Chan is warm, gentle and exudes kindness. She was able to figure out my exact prescription very efficiently (usually it takes a lot longer) but she seems more competent than the average optometrist in her ability to arrive at the prescription strength for my glasses. Her office staff particularly the girl who helped me locate glass frames were good at finding something I liked. I essentially found a pair of frames that was covered 100 percent by insurance and for the lens, I brought all the bells and whistles including UV protection (transitional lens), glare and scratch resistance, thin lens and the latest reading/distance glasses which added up to 400 dollars and my last pair of glasses was more than a 1000 dollars. Hopefully I will like the final product in a few weeks. So far, I am glad to have found such a great optometrist in my neighborhood thanks to the referral one of my co-workers gave me recently.

The waiting room was spacious with an abundance of seats and exceptionally clean. Prior to my appointment, I was given a thorough questionnaire about my eye and general health. I appreciated this because it demonstrated an interest in the patient's health as a whole, instead of focusing solely on the eyes. I have been to other specialists who haven't taken much time to consider any other health issues, but being diagnosed with an autoimmune condition has completely changed my outlook since that diagnosis has impacted my eyes. I knew even before I had met with Dr. Anaya, that I was going to be in good hands. When it was my turn to go, I was both greeted, and escorted, to the office space where my eyes would be examined. The staff here was very kind and explained everything thoroughly during my pre-exam. This was especially important since I had always been nervous about getting prescription contact lenses (despite using color ones in the past), but the staff here and Dr. Anaya had made me feel comfortable and answered all of my questions. Dr. Anaya took the time to answer all of my questions about my eye health, contact lenses, and thoroughly explained my eye's health to me as well. I have worn glasses for years, and I have never had a more comprehensive and thorough exam! It made me feel as though I knew where my eye health was standing, which gave me more confidence and relief than when I had first entered the office! I appreciated Dr. Anaya's recommendations for my eye health, hearing good news is always priceless. Even knowing my eye health was looking good, Dr. Anaya had validated my concerns and was very reassuring. After getting fitted for contact lenses, I went to update my prescription for glasses. I had just gotten glasses the year before, but they had given me a much weaker prescription and corrective lenses - both, weren't doing my eyes any favors! In the end, I was able to try on glasses until I found the perfect pair. The woman who was helping me find my glasses gave me awesome recommendations since I knew what type of frames I had wanted. I ended up loving her selections and left feeling excited and confident about my new glasses' arrival. Everyone here is so kind and attentive and you are guaranteed excellent, informative, care.

If you try to make an appointment online by clicking their emails that remind you to, they say they'll call you and they never do. The only way to do it is to call them. It's weird that they give you the option to get a call back but never do. The front desk doesn't really make eye contact when you go, and are a bit cold. I guess that's fine, but it is a stark contrast to the friendliness of the doctors and such. Overall, I would recommend.

I found Solano EyeCare through my VSP coverage and made an appointment here for my annual checkup…read more Although everyone was very friendly, I found the optometrist unusually pushy on products and upgrades. Such as highly recommending additional tests just to be safe. And pushing for separate computer glasses without really providing an understanding of why they could be optional. Additionally, I suffer from the occasional red eye due to dry tear ducts and long hours in front of a computer due to work. To remedy this, I use a lubricating eye drop which the optometrist claimed I shouldn't use as it supposedly had preservatives. Instead, she tried to push a costly eyedrop brand they carried in-house. This claim however that my over-the-counter eyedrops contained preservatives was definitely false. As the bottles clearly state that they are preservative free. And was recommended to me by an ophthalmologist I had just seen last year. To add insult to injury, the salesperson who helped me to pick out new frames never disclosed to me additional discounts that VSP was offering for certain brands. I only wound up finding out about it after going home and seeing the various promotions through VSP's website for Solano EyeCare. When confronted about it when I went to pickup my new glasses, they stated that it was my responsibility to know what promotions my provider was offering. This is the only optometrist I've ever visited that wasn't aware of or otherwise disclosed additional discounts off specific brands at the time of sale. I understand the need to upsell. But everything about my experience at Solano EyeCare just felt dishonest and non-transparent.
