This is an amazing location in London. We arrived in London and we wanted to have some fish and chips. We found a restaurant on yelp called seafresh with good ratings. How could we pass this up with such a very creative and exciting name. To the chagrin of everyone that knows me, at every seafood restaurant, I generally ask the server what the difference is between prawns, shrimp, and scampi. In general, no server has answered that for me with real confidence. I asked the waiter what the difference between scampi and shrimp was. This waiter didn't know but the manager, Martha, was there in ear shot and she had a very detailed answer for this. This is the first time I've been to a restaurant and they had an answer. It was a detailed and knowleagble answer that also included how the mad the deep fried scampi they had on the menu. Later on, Martha, the manager, came by and explained how many out of town customers would be confused when they ordered scampi here, because anywhere else, scampi is prepared with pasta and white sauce. She also explained that the restaurant had been around for over 50 years and her father was now the chef. We ordered the Haddock and chips, which were amazing. The haddock was battered with the skin on, then fried, which was different but more flavorful. We also ordered the Rock fish, which had a better batter but the underside of the fish had a different texture than the other side. The star of the show was the deep fried scampi, probably the best of the 3. The chips were hand cut, thicker fries. They were not crispy, but fit perfectly with the meal. The service and food was exceptional. It is exactly why the brits are known for fish and chips and I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. read more

Shoutout to Seafresh for serving some incredibly fresh seafood in Pimlico! Coming off anevening flight, I was excited to find this was a close walk from my hotel (and a number of hotels in the area). Seafresh is divided into two parts: a sit down restaurant and a fresh fish market section where you can also order food. Since we were in search of quick bite, we ended up ordering from the market section which also featured cheaper prices! The one caveat is there is only a small amount of seating, but no problem as most people are there for takeout orders. When the food came out, I was shocked how large the cod filet was! It almost eclipsed the entire plate! It came out hot and crisp while the inside was nice and flaky. The seafood soup was also piping hot and had a nice mix of fresh seafood. Definitely stop by if you're craving some fish and chips or other seafood! The staff was incredibly friendly and hustled to get orders out quickly! read more

I came with my wife, and my daughters (7,17) and we had the seafood linguine, fish and chips, falafel, and grilled king prawns. They were prepared and cooked to perfection. We have been here for three nights and have eaten here twice, and will likely be here again once or twice before we leave in five days. Voted number one fish and chips in the area, so decided to try while visiting the UK. Definitely recommend the fish and chips look at the size of fish they give you. Was traveling with a vegan eater, the restaurant was able to accommodate with a veggie burger and chips. Well talking to the staff, was suggested try the seafood soup which was delicious. The fish artwork on the walls was interesting to look at while waiting for a food. The wc was clean and well kept, only issue would be upstairs but no issue if you are ambulatory. read more

I am from the northeast part of the USA and order this meal pretty often at home but this place had the best fish and chips I have ever had. The menu was wide ranging and I love me some seafood, but this place was good but not great. The service was great and I felt well cared for which isn't always the case when you're dining alone. I started with the prawn avocado appetizer which was very bland (with rose marie sauce which as I suspected is a mix of mayo and ketchup) but the shrimp were good. Then I had the crab linguine special and mushy peas (since those seem to be a thing). The linguine was OK and crab wasn't that flavorful. As for mushy peas, they tasted OK, but I think you must have to be raised with those to really crave them plus the side portion was HUGE, especially for £2.80. I did have a lovely cup of tea so that was good. Maybe I would have been better off going with fried dishes. read more

We got the cod fish and chips and the fish soup. The cod was extra fluffy and the batter was nice and crispy and light. I liked it... but the sauce it came with really didn't have much flavor. I think the chips could have been a bit more crispy, but I guess that's a bit hard when you have thick cut ones. The soup had a very interesting flavor. Found this fish & chips shop when looking for a nice bite near Victoria train station. Was excited by the yelp reviews, but upon sitting down in the restaurant realized that the dine-in prices were WAY higher than for take out. Was ready to spend 7 or 8 quid on fish & chips and when I sat down and read the menu, I realized it was going to set me back about £13! This is a huge difference and I would almost certainly order at the counter and take out next time. They even have a few stools and a narrow table along the front window where you can eat your take out. Happy to enjoy full table service, I decided on the Fish & Chips set menu: a medium cod or haddock, chips, peas, and bread and butter for £12.90. Not too bad. Plus it came with fruit or 2 scoops of ice cream and coffee or tea. Pretty good value and loads of food! I tried the haddock and a friend got the cod. We both got the same set menu, so it was strange when the plates came out and the haddock was almost twice the size as the cod. That being said, the cod definitely tasted better, with a nice flaky texture. The haddock was just bland and needed tons of salt to taste like anything at all. Even with the smaller piece of cod, it was enough food to fill your belly. Service was very good and friendly. 10% service change was automatically added to the bill.
