Came here last night to celebrate my mom's birthday. We had the $338 combo which came with lobster, crab and fish. Everything was fabulous! We usually go to Yu Seafood but thought we'd switch things up! We added the braised pork belly for $10 promo price! If paying cash for dinner the also throw in a dozen oysters for free. The crab in salted egg yolk was different and very tasty! We got the lob steak steamed with garlic and vermicelli. The sweet and sour pork really stood out with its crispiness! The fish was undercooked so they took it back to re-steam but it came out overdone as expected. Their dessert of matcha pudding was a tasty surprise! My mom's favorite was the green bean soup dessert. Overall a good alternative and a great place to celebrate.

A new Chinese restaurant that serves both dim sum at lunch and dinner. It's mostly private room dining even when it's for dim sum lunch. I made a reso for dim sum lunch and was placed in a room with two other smaller tables. Our table had the automatic lazy susan, which has buttons all around the table for you to stop the automatic spinning when you want to grab food. It's a fancy restaurant and the service was impeccable. Food here was also so good for lunch with some stand out dishes like deep fried shrimp rolls topped with fish eggs, steamed pork ribs, chicken feet, clay pot tripe, and more. I can't wait to come back to try their other dim sum dishes. Dinner on the other hand was just as good, but their set menus and XL dishes that were sure to impress! The service for dinner was also great and dishes were innovative, creative, and delicious. We got things like the abalone fish maw soup, appetizer cold dishes, sashimi platter, lobster with steamed egg white, steamed eel, crab, and more. All the flavours of their dishes were amazing and it's great for large parties. Each private room had their own washrooms and karaoke set. I even got to tour their basement private room that sits 30 people in a round table, has a living room, MJ table, karaoke, and more! Definitely check them out!

Relatively new dim sum restaurant that opened up by Victoria Park and Cummer. Came with a group of 6 friends, we ordered their lobster set for 4 people plus many additional dim sum add ons. Ended up to be about $50 a person. The food was unique, especially their Cajun Lobster Rice Roll. I am not sure if they sell this item as an a la carte, but it was part of the $150 lunch set. Pro: They take reservations even for the weekends, and they are willing to split check + accept credit card payment!

We tried the Buddha's Temptation & Lobster set menu at Seafood Princess, and it was absolutely impressive. Every dish was full of premium ingredients, from abalone, fish maw, and sea cucumber to the flavourful chicken soup. The steam Cajun Lobster was fresh, juicy and beautiful presented. The restaurant has a very elegant atmosphere, perfect for family dinners or business gatherings. Most importantly, the service was excellent, attentive, polite and made our dining experience even more enjoyable.

I came here for dim sum with my mom and my boyfriend over the weekend. We had a noon reservation for 3, but still ended up waiting a bit before they sat us. Instead of the main dining area, we were brought down to the basement (yes... the basement). It's this huge open space with one massive table in the middle that could probably fit 30 people, plus a few smaller ones around the edges. There's even a karaoke setup, a random sofa area that looks like a living room, and one shared private washroom. Definitely not your usual dim sum vibe. What's interesting is this place isn't set up like most Chinese dim sum restaurants where it's one giant banquet hall with tables scattered everywhere. Seafood Princess actually has individual rooms with just a few tables in each, so it feels more private. In our case, though, we got the basement hall experience. We ordered 8 dishes total (7 dim sum + 1 beef fried noodle). Prices ran from $6.95-$13.95, with tea at $3/person. Definitely more expensive than most dim sum spots, but I'd say the quality makes up for it. The best dishes hands down were the siu mai and har gao... big, juicy, and loaded with whole shrimp (not the chopped up kind). Every bite was super fresh and bouncy. The one thing we didn't care for was the "recommended" cheese with eel bun. The mix of mayo, cheese, and eel was just way too salty and heavy for us. Service was pretty solid overall. Even though we were tucked away downstairs, there was always a waitress nearby keeping an eye on things, so food came out quick and we never had trouble getting help. Overall, I'd say the food was great and worth splurging a little, but just know this place has its quirks... like maybe ending up in the basement for dim sum.

Not your average dim sum. Amazing lobster lunch deal and we added on the wagyu fried rice. Everything was delicious, fresh and perfectly cooked. I enjoyed every single dish that was served- fried shrimp rolls, lobster congee, lobster shrimp dumpling, lobster rice rolls, wagyu fried rice and albalone puff. The service was also really good, they checked in on us a lot and made sure we got all our food. Only minor complaint is food took a while to come out but it was a busy weekend. Also did not enjoy sitting in the basement

Service was a little lacking even though there's not many tables and a lot of staff. There's early bird where (S, M,L) are all 6.95. Tea money is $3.00. Even if you walk in early you might not get an early bird seating as reservations were allowed. Spacing is a big issue, i don't recommend it for those with wheel chair or strollers especially for the main dining area. Maybe the private rooms are a better option to book. Service was slow depending on the server. We asked for some mustard and chili sauce twice but it never came, other tables had the same issue. Portions are smaller than other places, the dimsum selection is not that big. I recommend the siu mai, har cao but would pass on their eel cheese bun, and red crispy rice rolls, and egg tart.

I came to seafood princess for dim sum a couple of months ago and we ordered a la carte. Service and quality of the food were great. Dim sum menu was limited at the time but I know they are currently expanding to include staples like rice noodle rolls. Will definitely come back to try their set menu specials but would probably need 4-5 people as the portions are generous.

Can't go wrong with a lobsters and dim sum meal, especially if the dishes were all done well. The Cajun and steamed rice rolls dish was delicious! Congee dish was loaded with chicken and seafood! Note that the lunch meal sets can definitely feed more people than indicated on the menu. Service was good, can't complain.

We came right when they opened at 9am and were instantly seated. Their dining room is quite small compared to other dimsum spots but I believe you are able to make reservations. The staff are very friendly and the teapots they use are unique. We tried a few classic dimsum items, as well as specialty items - we loved it all. The price is a bit higher than other dimsum spots even with their promo of all S,M,L dishes being the same price.

This is not the typical dim sum place. They offer unique dim sum items that you don't normally see at chinese restaurants. We tried the seafood lunch special combo for 2 at $98 which includes: -Cajun sauce in dried shrimp rice rolls with steamed lobster in fried garlic -Stew soups x2 -Dried scallops seafood cucumber lobster clas congee + Fried dough (dipping in congee) -Salted Yu Choy (aka Choy Sum) with ginger -Your choice of any 3 dim sums (includes special high priced dim sum items) The garlic lobsters were so fresh and textures was bouncy. You can taste the saltiness from the sea which tells you how fresh and umami they are. The dried shrimp rice rolls were chewy and cooked perfectly. It adds a hint of saltness and flavour with the dried shrimps in the rice rolls. The congee was delicious. They weren't watery and the congee thickness was just right. Stew soups were sweet, clean and packed with meat juice in every sip. The sweetness from the carrots in the soup is a good balance to the flavour. The dim sums were amazing. I chose the signature Abalone puff pastry, seafood rolls with black caviar and avocado & eel rolls. My top pick is definetly the seafood rolls and avocado & eel rolls. The eel was soft and tender with a terriyanki sauce marinate. Seafood rolls had lots of shrimps and crab meat in every bite. Must order. The combo cam be enough food to share for 3 people and with leftovers remaining. I will definetely be back to try more of their dim sums and rice noodles. They offer $6.95 per dim sum item for special early bird everyday from 9am-11am for big, medium and small dim sum items. Everyday Monday to Sunday so even on weekends. Please check out my YouTube imhellochloe for full review on this visit. Thank you.

This dim sum restaurant has great food but absolutely awful layout. They've divided what could have been a big open space into a cramped restaurant by making most of the restaurant into massive private rooms, and maybe just 1/4 of the restaurant for smaller tables. The space is sooo cramped with staff squeezing between chairs and tables, constantly lifting chairs over patrons' heads because they kept fitting larger groups at tables that are too small. They seem to want to have a high end establishment but when you see staff bringing out plastic red stools for patrons, it really is not high end at all. There is only one massive unisex washroom for the restaurant but it's a joke because you could have fit 3 stalls within this single bathroom. Apparently the private rooms have a bathroom but you can't really access them when there are people in the room. The food is actually quite good and worth trying if you come here for early tea. The menu is relatively smaller than other places. I recommend the bean curd dish and sticky rice roll. That said, because of their layout, your food has to cross the waiting area and you could see servers with open food shuffle through a crowd of people coughing and sneezing. They should at least use a cloche to cover the food. The wait becomes excessive not because there's that many people but is because of the restaurant's own poor design. No reservations for 4 people. Service is decent. Seems their target customers are mainlanders.

First time coming here with the family. If you love seafood, you should definitely give this place a try, as they give the biggest portions, and it's worth the price. We ordered a dinner set meal course for 4-6 people for $388 before tax. We didn't expect such huge portions; we almost couldn't finish eating. The service here is great; they are always walking around, making sure everything is good or if any tables need anything. Plus, surprisingly, the atmosphere isn't as loud as I would have thought. The noise level is just right.

I'm not very familiar with Hakka food, but my parents told me Vintage Garden is operated by the folks who formerly operated Oriental Gourmet in Markham. I've been to that location before and liked the food options that they had. We were with our relatives for dinner on New Years Day, totaling 6 in our party. We had the stir fried lobster, crispy duck, sweet and sour pork. These were all very flavourful. My parents also pre-ordered the diced mushroom and chicken in egg white wrap, which unfortunately was a bit bland. For dessert we ordered the crystal dumplings, which I also believed was a bit bland. My guess is the blandness is to deal with the general clientele here, which leans older age. My parents and relatives all seem to enjoy it overall.

Vintage Garden isn't the easiest to find. If you're heading to the establishment from the south,…read moremost likely you'll be directed onto the 404 North to exit at Finch, then perhaps through Gordon Baker Road through a commercial complex, eventually hitting Victoria Park where your GPS may tell you to turn right, but just go straight through the traffic lights into what looks like an apartment complex. It looks like you're lost, but you're in the right place as the restaurant is located at the bottom of a retirement community. Their signage leads you to the south side of the building, but it's mismarked. Instead, head to the busier north end instead where Vintage Garden's entrance is found. While I don't enjoy offal, I nevertheless sampled the broth and vegetables in the pig tripe, preserved vegetable, ginger and peppercorn soup ($14), a signature Chiu Chow dish. The strong spicy hit of ginger and pepper is great for clearing the throat and does the work of those gingery immunity shots. I prefer the Chiu Chow style oyster and minced pork with rice in soup ($12.50 for regular (pictured) or $21.50 for large), that borders between broth and congee. In this case, the rice is added with all the other ingredients so doesn't break down. Rather it soaks in the broth that is teeming with pork and seafood flavours. Located near the coast, the Chaozhou region cultivates a lot of oysters, so you'll find the ingredient in a lot of menus. Another common dish is the homestyle fried oysters egg omelette ($23), which at Vintage Garden is simply prepared with tons of oysters, green onions, and egg that's just cooked through, so it's still jelly-like in the centre. Use the dipping sauce sparingly as it's a VERY salty fish sauce. Other popular items include daa laang which are marinated items served hot or cold. My family thoroughly enjoyed the Chiu Chow style marinated intestine ($18.95), which given my aversion to offal I passed on. But I had my fill of the Chiu Yueng style marinated duck ($21.95 for a half order). Despite its disheveled appearance, the duck was steeped in flavours, especially the slices of deep-fried tofu on the bottom that soak up the braising liquid. When they provided with a table it was right next to an exterior door, with people going in and out. The was a cold draft, we even had to tell the hostess/manager, if they could provide a divider to divert the draft from hitting our table. We ordered 9 dim sum dishes, one be Roasted Pig Mixed Cold Jellyfish, which was $23.80. I had the idea that it would be a fair portion. When it came, I was shocked, it was only 6 pieces of Roasted Pig. When I spoke with the manager about the portion size, he commented "for that price it is fair". There was not apologies and walked away, nor was it written on the menu. If I had known it was only 6 pieces (size of your index and middle finger put together). I would not have ordered it. If you want to have Roasted Pig, you can get better deals else where. Also, ordered Marinated Chicken Feet for $13.98, when it came to table, it was also a disappointment, part of the chicken feet was dark in colour, not even sure if it was even edible or not. Another dim sum dish that I have order was the steamed chicken with fish maw. The chicken was okay, but there was only two small pieces of fish maw, (the size of each piece was 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch). The order 6 dim sum dishes that was order was mediocre, tasted better from other Dim Sum restaurant. When I received the bill for the meal it came out to be $119.50, they even had included the tip. They didn't even give me an option weather a tip was even worthy. I will definitely not be returning to this place. I definitely do not recommend anyone to come to this restaurant. I would consider blacklisting this restaurant. It's simply deceiving customers.

The individual New Century slow boiled soup is hardest to share but secure some empty bowls and you can divide the hefty portion. In the winter, there's a silkiness to the piping hot consommé that sooths a dry throat and has an umami essence infused with abalone, ginseng, and pork. There's plenty to choose from in the house signature combo platter including roasted duck, soy sauce chicken, BBQ pork, pork slices, and seaweed salad. Saving my stomach for the later dishes, I had a taste of the duck (a good start with crispy skin) and BBQ pork (satisfactory and well flavoured). With the generous portion of chicken in the combo platter, the slow cooked chicken with abalone broth seemed like overkill. I've never been a huge fan of this dish that's served cold since I prefer chicken hot. Still, I understand it's the jelly layer between the skin and meat that people enjoy. And to be fair, the chicken was tender, and New Century certainly didn't skimp on the ginger and scallion oil. For those who tend to fill-up before the "main dishes", the stars of the combo arrive mid-meal. The stir-fried Vancouver crabs with silver fish in HK style spicy sauce needs to be eaten at arrival as the crunchy coating is best straight from the fryer. And despite not looking spicy, the dish has a light heat that permeates in the background. Additionally, the crab was fresh and meaty, cooked well so it remained delicately flakey. The amount of sweet and sticky sauce used in the stir-fried lobsters with scallion in Maggie sauce was well balanced, lightly covering the crustaceans. Both lobsters were substantial; even after eating many pieces, we still had plenty of leftovers. This is a long review head to Gastro World for the rest.

Street Grill's interior and decor lends to it's theming as an old Asian alley where you get snack food from street vendors. I appreciated that the wall columns and dividers were intentionally chipped at uneven spots to fit that theme. You get a lot of variety with the available food options. They have beef, pork, lamb, chicken, seafood, and grilled veggies. The drinks also have their own separate menu with alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. In our 1st batch of orders, we had the Garlic Eggplant and Ham & Cilantro Bean Curd Rolls for starters. Both are good and safe recommendations for everyone. For the rest of the food, we had Beef Tenderloin, Lamb Brisket, and Pork Belly. All were seasoned and spiced just right. I particularly enjoyed having the Beef Tenderloin and Lamb Brisket. For our 2nd batch of orders we had a Shareable (Shrimps, Sea Jellyfish, Cucumber, Preserved Eggs, and Peanuts w/ thick sweet vinaigrette) order which we were not able to finish and had to take home. That mixed veggie shareable was good to cleanse the palate, but was a little too sour to finish all in one seating. The rest of the order we had the Grilled Steamed Bun and then we tried to go more exotic by ordering Spicy Duck Tongue and Jumbo Bullfrog. I loved the Grilled Steamed Bun. It was seasoned right and toasted to perfection. The Jumbo Bullfrog had just enough meat on it to pick out and eat. The Duck Tongue might not be for everyone. There is not enough of the meaty, fleshy middle layer to eat, and then the rest of it is the 2 wide, bony protruding structures. We were seated at a good spot by the upper level overlooking the rest of the dining area. There was a server standing just behind us ready for requests and taking our orders. The overall dining experience is great, but can be a little pricey. Communication might sometimes be a small issue. Some servers default to speaking in Chinese and there are times where it can be tricky asking them to identify what was the food they just brought out.

I have a membership here and it is worth it if you order a lot and get discounts off multiple items. Check this place out!

I wanted to try Peking Duck and got clued into J&Y as one of the best options to try which did not disappoint. The Peking Duck was so tender, so flavorful and so wonderfully succulent. It was perfectly prepared and sliced with the fat rendered and thinly sliced. The wraps were not the monstrous steamed buns but traditional translucent wraps which are super thin, soft and pliable. Scallions, cucumber, hoisin sauce completed each wrap which highlighted the duck. Definitely the best traditional Peking Duck preparation I've had in a very very long time. The remains of the duck were used for make a duck fried rice and duck soup, again both were amazing. It takes a certain skill to make fried rice cleanly without an excessive oily coating on each grain of rice. This was one of the best fried rices I've ever had! No gratuitous mushy frozen peas needlessly added either. Well seasoned fried pork ribs and veggies completed the courses I had, everything was truly wonderful and I hope to revisit again.

We also told them we were missing a chair, they never addressed it and we ended up having to get the chair ourself. We ordered the combo dinner for 10 people for $650, there were 10 adults and 2 small kids aged 3 and 1, the restaurant added $12 for goby fish which was already on the combo menu, $14 for supposedly bigger lobsters, the restaurant suggested we order an extra set of wraps for Peking duck, but there was so little duck skin and meat that we couldn't finish using up the wraps; we asked for 2 extra bowls of red bean soup which never came! Btw the red bean soup was so seriously diluted! Overall poor service and too much upselling by restaurant made for a bad experience

Overall this place deserves 5 stars. It usually doesn't disappoint…read more I've been coming here for literally over 30 years. And the food is top notch. But I gave it 4 stars because of the experience yesterday. The food was substandard on this visit. I ordered 1. Jumbo seafood congee (taste was bland) 2. Grouper and tofu hot pot (best of all 4) 3. Black bean and beef Hofun (seriously lacking in quality) 4. Chinese dough fritters (awesome as always) I would say I was 50% satisfied with the meal. But I will be back as I said this place hardly disappoints and Even with this experience it's still an easy recommendation to come here I hope next time the quality is up to their old 30 year standards.

Rice noodles were made right and they were not overcooked. They preferred it with a bit of gai lan. P72 - Vegetable with Oyster Sauce. The veggies were slightly overcooked but still edible. The décor isn't fancy, but it's rich in cultural detail and warmth, perfectly matching the hearty, comforting style of Northeast Chinese cuisine. The space is unique and perfect for taking photos. The food here is very generous. We ordered the 4-person set with two side pots. Tomato Braised Beef Brisket and Chicken Stewed with Mushrooms and the portions were huge. Both pots arrived steaming hot and filled to the brim, clearly meant for sharing. The braised beef was rich and hearty, while the chicken pot was comforting and full of flavor, making it perfect for group dining or cold weather meals. Combined with the rustic, traditional décor, it really feels like authentic Northeast Chinese comfort food. The food and atmosphere were excellent, though the service was a bit lacking. Prices are reasonable for the generous portion sizes and the unique restaurant décor.

Other Chinese BBQ-style provide better quality and punchier flavours, however this place is a pretty solid choice for both indoor and outdoor patio seating and can accommodate very large groups. Their skewers and array of BBQ items are always crowd pleasers, and they're not spicy/very lightly spiced for those who are worried about spice levels. Personally, it's not spicy enough for me, I would have liked some heavier chili powder on these, but they're still tasty! Aside from their BBQ menu, they also have a hotpot menu! There's a little something for everyone at this spot, and who can be mad at $10 for 1.5 liters of beer? Note that staff primarily speak Mandarin, but most know English. The menu is also bilingual in English and simplified Chinese, however the English translations can be a bit off for some of the items. For example: we accidentally ordered "beef back strap" skewers, thinking it's was back meat. However, it's actually the tendon-like part of beef, which is more clear in Chinese. For the most part, the English is pretty clear for you to understand, but Google translate is your friend if you need it!
