The restaurant has a really lovely new renovation, bright, comfortable, and modern. It feels inviting the moment you walk in. The menu isn't huge, but it has a good selection of dishes without being overwhelming. Service was very attentive as well.
Food wise, the flavours were really good. Everything we tried had strong, well-balanced flavours and great textures, and the dishes were cooked perfectly. For example, the sweet and sour pork was crispy and meaty, with just the right amount of sauce to coat it without being soggy.
However, I unfortunately can't give a full five stars because we ran into issues with spoiled ingredients. The pineapples in the sweet and sour pork were rotten. When we let the staff know, they were willing to replace the whole plate, but since we had already eaten some of the meat, we felt bad and decided not to have it redone. The second dish, a curry brisket, also arrived with something sour or rotten, either the carrots or the onions. We asked to have that one replaced entirely, as we didn't want it remade with the same ingredients. The replacement eggplant dish was good, but we later noticed on the receipt that we were charged for the original, more expensive dish, even though the issue wasn't our fault.
I understand that spoilage can happen and it can be hard to control, and I do appreciate that they were willing to change the dishes. Still, it was disappointing that this happened to two out of the three dishes we ordered.
There is a lot of potential here, especially with the quality of flavours and the lovely renovation, but consistency and quality control definitely need attention. read more
