I intentionally make my stop here before flying out from LAX because my last two dining experience was great. The food was good but not as great at the level of what I had. The last two times I couldn't believe how delicious and tasty the food was. I can't stop thinking to return to revisit. All the staff was friendly except the team leader or possibility the manager. She took my order and I asked for water then added a coffee. She only brought me the coffee. When I saw her looking over my table, I raised my hand to get her attention. She looked like she was in deep thought, I spoke up and then she just looked away and turn. The wonderful girl works at the reception heard me and ask if I like cold water, and with ice and no ice. She was wonderful! Most of the time the team lead had a poker face on and only cracked one or two smiles during the whole time I was there. She just seemed unfriendly to all the diners. BTW, the second visit was at the Long Beach location. The team there seemed so happy at work. I had a wonderful and attentive server and I love the upbeat friendly vide. My group was disappointed with our visit. We had 3 adults and 1 young child who has certain allergies and is rather picky so we brought him his own little kids meal. We have never had any problems at other vegan places. Once we sat we were told that he could not have his outside food here. I asked if we could maybe just sit outside on the patio and it was a firm no. The lady was not rude but she also wasn't pleasant about it. Not that impressed. Understaffed, couldn't sit in requested section, food was not that good, but yet pricey. Tried two different dishes, my total was $50... I didn't even order a drink. Yikes! The OG fried rice was not good at all. The taco salad was okay but not worth the price. Gracias madre makes a similar dish and it's literally 10x better. I couldn't find the place either, it was my first time here. This is located in a place called "the lab". I called the restaurant twice for help as I thought the lab was its own restaurant. This is not the case, you have to go into the lab in order to get to this restaurant. These people literally work inside this place and when I called them for help, at no point did they say the lab is a mix of many restaurants, we're inside it. So I burned an extra 20 minutes driving in a circle for no reason... There's a giant plant in front of the front door that you have to walk around like you're trying to duck through a jungle. Why? No idea! Usually you can just walk into businesses, this one requires some minor parkour. I was hoping to give their breakfast menu a try at some point to see if it's any better but all of the annoying side quests I dealt with, along with the insane price tags of items is most definitely scaring me away. Oh lastly, multiple people got seated in the section that I had requested right after I asked and was denied. I have back pain so it would of been really helpful if I could of sat there but I was illogically denied, yet anyone else could. Woohoo! If you're part if this restaurant and reading this review, just think about how any of this is supposed to make sense for a first time customer... the directions... the prices... the quality... the seating... the below mid service... the strange entryway... Remember folks, two dishes, no drink, $50, but you can also eat plant based at chipotle and they have loaded $9 burritos... hmmmm. We had the avocado tacos, the jackfruit taco, the butternut squash enchiladas, the guacamole and chips, the brussel sprouts, and both mock tails. Favorite were both tacos, and the brussel sprouts! Service- It's so upsetting writing this post because I love Seabirds. The food is amazing and normally the service is awesome. Tonight I placed it to go order and my husband went to pick it up . I was so excited to introduce him to this great spot in the awesome food. After he arrived home, he told me how rude the hostess and manger were. They were both very unprofessional and made he feel so unwelcome, almost like he didn't belong there based of the way he was treated. Just because he is a white man with tattoos who happened to be wearing a hoodie because it was cold outside doesn't mean he should be treated like a dog that can't come inside. Regardless of a persons, race, gender, or sexual orientation, no one should be made to feel like they are not adequate enough to sit down and wait at a table and order a drink while they wait for their food. How can you deny a paying customer the right to sit at a table and wait for their to go order while there are plenty of open tables available! Do better seabirds CM and teach your employees to not stereotype any customer that walks through that door. read more

Was finally able to stop by for their weekend brunch menu! I've been to seabirds plenty of times for their normal menu (which I love), so I had high hopes for their brunch. Ordered: Biscuit Bomb Brunch Tacos Tater Tots Frickles (fried pickles) Blueberry mint Lemonade Honestly the items I had were just okay. The biscuit bomb was very filling but a tad underwhelming. The maple tempeh does the job of replacing they typical breakfast sausage, but I did get tired of the flavor after a couple bites. Maybe some sauce would help! Frickles weren't exactly what I was expecting. I think they would be better if they stuck to the classic route of breading instead of lots of batter that overwhelms the small pickle slice. Tater tots and blueberry mint lemonade are always a hit! And service is great! Parking is an expected struggle on the weekends. read more

One waitress recommended a green hot sauce on top and that was great as well. Other noticeable mentions include the burnt Brussels sprouts & the Avo Chocolate Mousse. Now on to the food! Of course I got the Mac & Cheese, because that's what drew me in at first, but the waitress warned me that it's kinda small, so I may want to order something else as well. I chose the Beer Battered Avo taco per her suggestion, and was so glad that I did! Mac & Cheese - (exclusive to this location) - organic noodles, three cheese mornay sauce, Seabirds shaved parmesan & fresh parsley for $9.25. Life changing! Seriously the best Mac & Cheese I've ever had. It was creamy and just perfect in every bite. If you're a Mac & Cheese lover, look no further. I'm trying out a pretty restrictive diet, in hopes of alleviating some health issues, and Seabirds was able to kindly accommodate. (I always get so nervous asking, but our server didn't even flinch when my friend started running off the restricted items for me. I live in LA, but whenever I'm in the area I'm always sure to go to Seabirds Kitchen. It's one of the best laid back vegan spots I've been to! Great atmosphere with surrounding shops and businesses. The outside patio is lovely and gives privacy. The benches are slightly uncomfortable but it's very on-brand for the chill vibes. I try to test new things from the menu but two of my favorites are the purple taquitos and the tacos. There house made cheese sauce is AMAZING and the Beer Batter they use is great. I'd also recommend the Mac and Cheese. Everything comes out of the kitchen FAST and fresh. Dishes seem a little small so it's good to get a few things and share.
