Sea Salt + Basil is a small corporate eatery serving up a mix of breakfast, sandwiches, wraps, and salads. I tried the California Chicken Wrap, and it was delicious, especially with the side of pasta salad that came with it. At under $11, the price was hard to beat. The flavor was decent, but I do wish there was a bit more chicken. After a few bites, it started feeling like I was eating mostly tortilla and lettuce. For the price, though, it's hard to complain--it's a solid budget-friendly option. I'd definitely go back to try their breakfast menu or one of their salads, but if I'm really craving a sandwich or wrap with a bit more substance, I might explore other options. read more

PARKING: is not convenient. There is a garage close by but you will need to pay $2 per 15 min. They do not validate. If you do not want to pay, walking from the closest free parking area will take about 10-15min. FOOD: Delicious food and good value. Everyone in my group was happy with the sandwiches they ordered. I got the Tocino chicken sandwich which came with a small serving of pasta salad. When I compared the amount of pasta salad to other plates, my serving was a little skimped. But overall for about $11 the meal was satisfying. ATMOSPHERE: most seating would be outside. For a California winter day, it was pretty windy and chilly in front of the building but there are additional tables on the side of the building that was nice and sunny. It's a peaceful and calm area. Overall, it was a great first time experience with a good meal with friends. Free parking may not be convenient, but I've accepted it as something to work for while saving a couple bucks. read more

Best tasting breakfast and lunch meal we have! Everything freshly made! You can taste the freshness of the veggies in the paninis! The staff are amazingly nice! Did I mention it is so much more affordable than the food courts at the Spectrum? I would not recommend this place. To start off, the chicken does not taste like chicken. The texture was also grainy. When I was at the counter, I asked if the meat could be unseasoned. They did season it. I later learned they do not have a grill. So it would be better to get snacks, drinks or pastries here. Overall, I would not eat here again. read more

The food is so delicious here! Vida recommended the Tocino chicken avocado sandwich. The sandwich is perfect, so tasty, warm, 10/10! I was walking my usual route to Irvine Spectrum from the Village Apartments that I saw this place. Stopped by and I was thrilled with their healthy choice menu. It's my new lunch spot and you have to try their quinoa bowl. Also they made a smoothie for everyone to try which was AMAZING! So if you live in the area I encourage you to try this place. read more

They're dishonest with ingredients and they keep your money. I ordered three sandwiches: 1- Pan Bagnat Sandwich: The description clearly says it comes with brioche. Both pictures on Doordash and their website show a nicely toasted brioche. It came with a very soft and not toasted white sliced bread (or cheap sourdough sliced). Look at the photo. And it wasn't good. 2- Napa Cranberry Chicken Salad Sandwich: In this case, the description says it comes with wheat ciabatta. The picture shows a ciabatta too. Again it came with white sliced bread (or cheap sourdough sliced) that didn't match it at all. Look at the photo. This wasn't good either. It barely had any dried cranberry or celery and it was tasteless. 3- Ham Croissant Sandwich: This was at least the same as the description and tasted okay. I also ordered 4 apples. They told the driver to tell me they're out. They never refunded me. The switcheroo on the breads was annoying for two reasons. First it didn't match the sandwich. Second, I'm diabetic, and when I saw the chicken salad comes with wheat ciabatta, I got happy cause wheat is much better for diabetic people. But I got white. read more

Little eatery on the lobby floor of office building across street from spectrum. Came here because it was 10:30am and it seems like many lunch places at the spectrum don't open until 11. The places I yelped that opened before 11 were not rated well so I opted for this place. Great and friendly service. My tomato bisque came out super hot and tasted great. The nut butter açai smoothie is delicious, as are the pastries. These alone are worth a visit. This cafe is located in the Mazda building, so you will need to park in one of the Spectrum Center garages nearby. There is no dedicated parking lot. The staff are few in number and can easily get overwhelmed. It is best to avoid peak times if you have food or a smoothie made to order. There are a number of prepared options if you need something quicker. read more

Today was my first and final experience at this establishment. I learned of them via Grubhub. In the GH platform and confirmation notice I received after placing the order, there were clear instructions that stated should I want curbside delivery, that it is available. I simply needed to note that in my order instructions, and when I arrive, was instructed to call the business number so that they could come out with my food. I followed all the instructions. When I arrived, I called their phone number. A grumpy and rude male picked up the phone and said that they don't offer curbside. He also said that he was alone working and then hung up on me. I was speechless. So unprofessional and not customer centric at all. Also, a total lie. I saw at least 3 employees. This business is inconveniently located for drivers. If you are an employee at this Mazda building, then you can simply go downstairs to the ground level and pick up your food. If you are coming from elsewhere, you have to park in the paid parking structure where there is very limited parking. All this takes extra time which I did not factor in as I was misled to believe wrong info. When I finally made my way into the biz, the rude male looked guilty and knew I was the one he spoke to earlier. I had lots of thoughts and words but chose to take the high road and not say anything there. His poor management and communication and lack of responsibility caused unnecessary stress and caused me to be late to my meeting. He proceeds to say, "The next time you should blah blah blah." And I simply said, "I have nothing to say to you. There won't be a next time so no need to speak on it further." I reviewed all that transpired with GrubHub corporate care. They were mortified and agreed that what happened was 100% wrong by the business. They refunded my money and said they would look into this further. Wow just wow. read more

I had the breakfast burrito and it was the best tasting burrito I've had in the area! Being from San Diego I know good breakfast burrito and this place had that, without feeling like it was drenched in cooking oil. I'll definitely be back. I also had a blueberry muffin and that was delicious! Service was 5/5 they were able to serve me minutes after 11am, great service and mellow. I love this place for brunch and lunch!! Quick and affordable, healthier than many surrounding options to boot! The southwest quinoa bowl is in my favorites list along with the smoothies! Delivery is usually great and I've only had 1 instance out of the handful of times we've ordered delivery where they forgot an item. Had to waited 20 mintes to order (kitchen was backed up and the cashier lady was giving couple mins in between before taking next order to manage the rush) and another +30 minutes to get food. And they gave me a wrong order;) Ordered Mediterranean chicken pesto but got Tocino chicken avocado. Chicken is dry. read more

Woah. SO glad I found this place, thank you Yelp! If you are not careful you can miss it. The Acai smoothly was ridiculously good along with the panini sandwich and overnight oats. This place stayed open all throughout Covid, for that reason alone they have my business for life. This is my go to. The food is always delicious and everyone who works there is so friendly. I don't think you can go wrong with whatever you order. I'm always finding something new that's just as good. My only tip is to get there earlier as the line can get packed at lunch. Most recent find was the overnight oats which far exceeded my expectations of being a boring breakfast food. Not to mention they make it in house. read more

Friendly service or so I thought. They don't validate for parking so had to pay $4 extra for that. Ordered 2 eggs salad sandwiches a lemon bar and smoothie. Charged $28.21 prior to tip. They packed my order bag, I opened it when I got home, I only see one sandwich I ordered in the bag. Stinks as we were very hungry and I'm sure I paid for 2. Hoping for atleast a partial refund at this point. read more

Great food and very friendly staff. I love their healthy salads and acai smoothies. They make great sandwiches too. You can get quite healthy food here or get some pastries if desired. In front of the highrise, there is some for 10 minutes parking to pick up your food. You can park freely at spectrum garages or for a few park at their garage. I highly recommend this place. read more

This place is amazing and Vera and the other gentleman sometimes in the front are always warm, professional and thorough. The location is fantastic and the food is really good actually, as you might not expect from a business cafe. The prices are good as well for something near the Spectrum in an Irvine business hub area. This place turned me onto Quinoa which I didn't know I loved. They're generous with the extra chicken and avocado, as well as everything else--at a time when other places are more and more stingy. Much love for one of our new favorite lunch spots :). read more

I would recommend Sea Salt + Basil to anyone I know. The staff is always kind and accommodating, but even more, the owner Ed is one of the most thoughtful and passionate workers I've encountered. Above all, the food is DELICIOUS. I recently just tried the tocino chicken avocado sandwich and it was to die for! The vegetables are always fresh and flavorful while the chicken is always tender and juicy. I highly recommend eating here or even just grabbing something from the refrigerator section while you enjoy the spacious, calm ambiance inside. read more

I should have wrote this review a long time ago. Please ignore the other reviews because they don't understand that this place is a DIAMOND just off the side of the Irvine Spectrum. It's quality food and the owners break their backs trying to provide amazing service to their customers. Yes, it's located in a commercial building and open during specific hours. The foot traffic is for lots of the people who work around there. And there's a HUGE reason they all go back to eat here...because Everything they make is amazing and very reasonably priced. You won't find any place around Spectrum where you can get a full meal without breaking the bank. I've walked up and down the entire Spectrum complex and found nothing as convenient, good quality, and priced like Sea Salt + Basil. read more

Blackberry Rock is also delicious and would be a hit for oolong lovers. Also hope they'll use bigger ice cubes - the small aerated cubes melt too fast. Was really disappointed by their topping selection, It's really bold to only have 4 options, but as I mentioned, for those who don't care for toppings or get the classic boba each time you're fine. My favorite is the raspberry tart and the chocolate pistachio! I definitely will still need to try the rest of the flavors. As for service, they are friendly, although I was taken back as we asked for a regular three flavor but was given a piccolo size and charged for the regular. The cashier put declined for a receipt and the total price was $18. I noticed this when I asked for a cap for my regular cup and he kept giving me a cap that didn't fit and saw then it was a piccolo (small) that we were given. We couldn't ask for an adjustment as we didn't have a receipt and didn't want to wait back in line. This was our first time so lesson learned. I will be removing a star due to that mishap. Everyone just watch out and make sure you're getting the right size for the right price!!

But service at the counter is very friendly and helpful. The ambiance is an outdoor cafe....noisy neighbors, wind when it blows, dogs, all the regular stuff - good seating and umbrellas with some areas naturally shaded...lots of tables relative to the size of the shop. Very friendly staff. Why do my reviews get over 1,000 views every time we visit a new place? We don't know but it seems consistent. We feature very critical reviews - we rate high but include serious critiques. Maybe that's it.

It was a bit of a miss on the execution for an $18 sandwich. * Service Timing: The Pork sandwich arrived well before the Tamago. Since the Pork is a warm sandwich, I had to choose between eating ahead of my party or letting the food get cold while waiting 5 minutes for the second plate. It would be great to see better coordination so all mains arrive together. Bottom line: The flavors are definitely there and the quality is high. I'd certainly come back to try more of the menu, though perhaps as an occasional treat rather than a regular spot.
