This small restaurant with BIG FLAVORS specializes in pizza with the emphasis in fresh and healthy vegetables, meats and vegan meals. They have about a dozen tables, a bar, and a bar top with single seats. The decoration is modern, simple with dark earth tone colors. It can get loud when busy but fortunately it was not when we there. This is a favorite spot for locals - both dine in and takeouts. Server - 5 stars We were greeted with a friendly "hello" and was immediately seated. Our server was the manager, server and bartender. Multiple duties but she was super friendly, professional, laid back and easy to talk to. Food: 4.75 STARS By her recommendation we ordered a daily special pizza and their most popular pizza. The daily special pizza: 4.5 Stars The pizza was freshly made tomato based topped with sliced portobello mushrooms, sweet yellow peppers, onions, olives, zucchini. I added sliced prosciutto for protein. It was good and you can taste all the flavors of veggies and the prosciutto. Most Popular Pizza by customers. Drum roll please...Brussel Sprouts! Now, before you say, "What?!" or "Yuck"! Let me explain me explain from a carnivore perspective. This pizza was AWESOME! Roasted, caramelized Brussel sprouts drizzled w burnt honey, based with a parsley pesto, onion jam, mozzarella, toasted walnuts and Parmesan cheese. This is truly a Vegan's delight! However, my wife added pepperoni cups (little pepperoni that raises into a cup filled with its juicy flavor when cooked) for protein. I normally don't hear sounds coming from my wife when eating, but I swear she acting out a scene in "When Harry met Sally". LOL! She loved it! The pepperoni was a good addition, however we both recommend keep "vegan" style. Also, if you are allergic to walnuts, just ask them to remove them or have it on the side if sharing w someone else. The chewy, thin and crusty dough was heavenly. Easy to bite or tear off and has the right amount of char. I don't mind the scratch kitchen given it's one of the few places that you can eat at within the deep Cove area. However, I do think that they need to expand and create a menu with more variety. When it comes to their appetizers, the buttermilk fried chicken is crispy, crunchy, and juicy on the inside. However, if you know this place, you would know that they are known for their pizza. The hot mama pizza with the sweet and spicy tones is quite delicious. If you're looking for a vegetarian option, I would opt for the earthy umami mushroom pizza. Friendly place with awesome pizza. The pizza has great crust and crispness and flavour. It tastes light yet very flavourful at the same time - kinda like pizza in Italy! Although unlike in Italy the pizza here has rich set of ingredients. - the Brussel sprouts pizza is the bomb. Really nice crispy flavour, a little sweet. - the mushroom pizza is really really good too. - I liked the special of the day but not everyone did. It was chorizo and potato. I enjoyed mine though this is not quite the crumbly sausage but more like chunks of meat. Oh, the cauliflower wings are really good. Everybody gets them and the sauces are very delish. Been to Scratch Kitchen in Deep Cove twice and ordered different items off the menu each time. We tried the cauliflower wings and chill beets for appetizers. We had the Perfect storm, mushroom and brussel sprout pizzas. The cauliflower was cooked to perfection, and the batter super crispy. Thankfully, they kept the sauces separate to prevent the cauliflower from getting all soggy. Ingredients in the beet salad was creative, beautifully presented and provided a perfect balance of sweet and tangy. The pizzas were to die for, especially the thin chewy crust! With well prepared ingredients, the flavors of each pizza really stood out and lacked nothing. The crust stayed crispy and was not weighed down with oil or even worse, really wet ingredients. We ordered everything vegan (except for the Perfect storm pizza), and one would never have guessed! The service was attentive and down to earth and the atmosphere felt very neighbourly. My only wish, is that they change their menu more often perhaps, so that we can eat something different each time we visit! And we plan to visit often! read more

But if you eat in Vancouver there's places way better than this LOL pizza was pretty good, and I liked the yam wedges. Fried chicken was juicy but it was nothing like real fried chicken. They had a good selection of local beers that we loved and for food we got the Kale Caesar Salad to start and the Brussel Sprout pizza and Pear & Goat cheese pizza. By the time we arrived they were ready. We split up the boys, the girls and us adults but they managed to fit us all inside their quant little restaurant. They're service is second to none and the steady stream of take out just upped our anticipation. The food was outstanding!!! We ordered a bunch of pizzas, all were amazing and full of flavour. My wife had a salad with salmon and it was amazing too! Their pizzas are about 12 in diameter with a nice light crust but with all the toppings they are very filling. We ordered the Cauliflower bites and Fried Chicken for appetizers and every bite was full of flavour! Don't miss this place especially if you're in the area. Take it to go and just two minutes down the road is Deep Cove, a beautiful little hamlet with sailboats anchored in the harbour. This is where I would sit and eat this delicious food. It was a good mix of sweet and savoury. The pizzas are quite large too. You can ask to have some chili oil to go with your pizza. I really liked theirs because it want simply just chili oil. This little place was absolutely fabulous! Do not let the fact that it is located in essentially a strip mall deter you. They had the open garage door concept at the front of the venue and we nabbed a spot at the bar facing outside. The menu was small, however with pizzas this good on it, there was really no need to offer anything else! I selected the Brussels Sprout Pizza, as I have never seen them offered on pizza before and I absolutely love them. This pizza was simply outstanding! Just before the summer ends, we did a mini-adventure to Deep Cove. Mr. wanted to do a hike at Quarry Rock, but prior to that, we visited a brunch place nearby. It is an 8-minute drive away from Deep Cove, and it is called Scratch Kitchen. They make everything from scratch daily, and there is a 4.8 rating on Google, which makes me even more curious about what they serve. Scratch Kitchen is located in a quaint neighborhood, and it has a petit outdoor patio facing a paranoiac mountain view. Inside the restaurant, it is modern and minimalistic, with an open bar serving beer on tap and handcraft cocktails. It gets pretty packed around 2 pm on a Saturday. The menu has a decent amount of selections, and they also offer small dishes for the light eaters. We ordered two dishes to share, the classic Fried Chicken & Waffles and a brunch-version pizza, Wake N Bacon. Who said we can't eat pizza at brunch? Wake N Bacon is a pizza, but with common toppings, you see in breakfast, such as thick smoked bacon and a sunny side up egg. It uses white sauce and mozzarella blend as the base. The dough has a good chewy texture, and I love to eat the crust with the yolk. I am surprised that the pizza is not too heavy, but just perfect. The smoked bacon adds flavors, and the cheese strings just make me drool. We also ordered a classic Fried Chicken & Waffles, which is probably the best one I tried in Vancouver. The deep-fried chicken is first sous-vide, so it remains juicy and tender. The grainy Dijon aioli on the plate is what I would dream for! We literally drench our chicken and waffles in that sauce. The ideal way of enjoying the waffles would pour a little bit of the cayenne maple syrup and drench it in the Dijon aioli. It gives a magical, unique taste with sweetness, spiciness, and acidic flavors all in one bite. *** Overall Impression *** Although Scratch Kitchen is not in a convenient location, especially for ones who don't drive, I would definitely revisit and try other dishes on the menu. The dishes are all made from scratch, and that's what makes it unique and worthy. I recommend coming early to skip the crowd, especially if you want to enjoy some of the dishes I tried. I believe brunch is available until 2 pm, and don't forget to get the Fried Chicken & Waffles! I can't wait for my next visit already. Hidden gem along Dollarton! Decided to give this restaurant a try after a nice afternoon at Deep Cove (just a five minute drive away). Scratch Kitchen is conveniently located in a small shopping plaza two stores down from Nestor's Market (signage is a little difficult to spot). There is plenty of parking! As a new establishment, the restaurant is very clean and functional. Scratch uses lots of wood fixtures to give the place a warmer and cozier feeling. Upon arriving, we were immediately greeted and seated. The dinner menu features a variety of salads, burgers, and pizzas. To start, my partner and I ordered the cauliflower "wings" to share. We were given the option of Korean chilli sauce or Buffalo sauce for dip. Luckily, we were able to opt in for a half-and-half option for an additional $1. When the dish arrived, a side of ranch was also included. The "wings" were super crispy and had a tiny bit of spice even without any sauce. The Buffalo sauce paired more nicely with the cauliflowers and ranch dip. We found the Korean chilli sauce a little too salty. For the main I had ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich and substituted the sweet potato chips for a house garden salad (+$2). The chicken was served blackened with fix-ins such as sliced avocado, sliced zucchini(?), lettuce, and cheese. The sandwich was juicy and was well-balanced by the salad with the lightly-sweetened vinaigrette and candied walnuts. However, the base of the bun seemed to soak up all of the juices, making the sandwiches very messy to eat halfway through. The sandwich was also served on a plank so I had to be extra careful with the juices. Overall, a very pleasant experience for some classic burgers and sandwiches. After a few nights of exploring city of Vancouver we had a night at an Air BnB over in Deep Cove. We got to Deep Cove too early to check in so we had to grab some lunch. The food and service here was amazing. This was, in my opinion, the best restaurant I tried during my stay in Vancouver. I actually ended up going back for brunch once more before I left. For appetizers we tried the Fried Cauliflower and the Fried Chicken, both were delicious (the chicken was perfectly crisp and tasty). For my main dish I ended up getting the Hot Mamma pizza which came recommended by Marissa (our awesome waitress). Ask for ranch dressing to dip the pizza (also recommended by our waitress), it added another layer of flavor. The pizza was delicious. My friends ended up getting Wake N Bacon pizza (also delicious), they both were very happy with their choices. During my second visit I ended up getting the Fried Chicken and Waffles because I was craving the chicken (still just as delicious the second time). My friends both ordered the Kinda Classic, and once again the both loved it. Once again the service was great. I definitely recommend this place. Hadn't been to "The Village Table" in ages. Primarily because I was not happy with the place. Been a year or so, figured I'd take the kid out for some chicken strips. Well to my pleasant surprise it was no longer. Service was prompt, and friendly. The staff/owner were happy to be there. We ordered the burger and the fired chicken.
