My kitten, the day I picked him out. Skinny, goober-eyed, rough coat.

Utterly horrible. I adopted a kitten from that hell hole last week, and the cage he and his brothers were in reeked of diarrhea. My boy was hoarse because of a rampant upper respiratory infection, and after I brought him home from his neuter, he had explosive liquid diarrhea in his carrier, then again at home, again and again. Kittens are fragile and that's the kind of illness that can easily kill them. I brought him to my local vet, where I shelled out nearly $200 for medications and prescription food, because I reFUSED to bring the baby back to the place that got him sick to begin with, free vet visit or no. My kitten is now on the mend and growing strong. His sweet voice is clear and he really knows how to use it! If you adopt from this place, you will be saving an animal from a wretched situation, but be prepared to pull out your wallet to fix up the aftermath of the poor baby's incarceration. I'm glad I saved Ocho (formerly Pugsley, formerly Giuseppe), and with me, he's going to have a long, healthy life.

    Ozzy on his favorite pillow!

Took a nice, quick trip up from Pullman, WA in hopes of adopting a furry friend. :) Another close friend of mine had driven up a few weekends before and had luck finding a beautiful cat there herself, so I decided to visit SCRAPS first. The quality, attention to service, and care for animals and people alike is wonderful here! I was welcomed in as family would be, and the employees are MORE than qualified and helpful; The volunteers/workers all seem to know each and every animal there and have a knack in listening to individual needs for placement. I had the blessing to find my baby in just a few minutes - I shared some personal information about environment and personality and was paired with a perfect pet. I cannot express how thankful I am for SCRAPS and other adoption centers who put the upmost love into their work, staff, and animals. In a nutshell: I had two WONDERFUL experiences here, as company and as a customer. Every employee puts care into the hard work that goes into providing intermittent care for all types and ranges of animals - and it shows! I would absolutely refer anyone looking for a forever friend to SCRAPS!

An hour an 6 minutes on hold!!!

No freaking way they are getting enough calls to have people on hold for an hour to adopt a dog...

Went to get another cat for my daughter. We already have a cat, and have owned several cats, dogs,…read morerats, guinea pigs and even ferrets. All of our pets have been loved and treated like family. Went to fill out paperwork for adopting a cat, but they wouldn't let us have one as we would let it outside. Really? Our cat cat goes outside, roams the fenced backyard, does her outside business and comes back. They wouldn't let us adopt because we already have an indoor/outdoor cat? When we went to their space on Trent, it seemed as if most of their cats had "kitty colds" and were told it was going around the facility. I commend the idea of animal foster parents, but they seem a bit rigid. They didn't even try to get to know us. Good job driving away responsible owners. Good luck to all the future cat ladies.

They euthanize animals and blatantly lie about where donations go. If you sponsor an animal they'll…read moretell you the money goes to that animal. It doesn't. And if an animal is cute and draws lots of sponsors they won't tell the donors when it gets adopted. They'll milk that puppy or kitten for all it's worth, never telling anyone it's been adopted for the last year. They avoid taking animals to the vet for necessary things, even if the animal is in pain. They don't like to spend money on the animals. And I've personally seen them leave the vaccines on top of the refrigerator all day long and then go ahead and use them. (Once the vaccines reach room temperature they are no longer effective. They MUST be kept refrigerated.) And volunteers steal microchips and vaccines for their own pets. All around a dishonest, unethical group.
