Went to this Petco location to get vaccinations for my dog from Vetco. This was a year ago. I…read moreconsider what happened there to be unethical. Upon reaching the area in the store where the veterinarian was administering vaccinations, the vet and two staff she'd brought with her suddenly started chasing a 'flea' that 'jumped' off my dog to a table that was ten feet away. One of the assistants quickly ran to said table with a spray bottle and sprayed onto the table. My dog doesn't have fleas. If that were the case, I'd notice fleas in my home and I'd be bitten myself. This was a ploy to get me to pay $100 or more to get flea treatment from the vet and it was unethical AF. Rather than pay the vet for treatment, I bought a product in the store...and I'm kicking myself for doing so. Still no fleas in my home.

I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding a recent experience at your Division…read morestore location. For the past three weeks, I have visited the store every other day to check on a specific bunny named Ollie. I was informed he would be available for sale today, June 11th. During my visits, multiple employees instructed me to call at 9:00 AM this morning to place him on hold, as I would be at work. I followed these instructions exactly and called at 9:00 AM. However, I shortly received a call back from the manager, Laura, informing me that the bunny was being sold to a walk-in customer. Given that I followed the specific process outlined by your staff after weeks of persistent check-ins, I find this outcome very upsetting and unprofessional.

I told the cashier that I was vaccinated and she proceeded to tell me that I still had to wear a mask "for the safety of others" to which I said "I'm vaccinated. Have you read any of the statistics or publications related to vaccinated individuals?". She had no answer but as I left she made the snarky comment of "Enjoy your vaccine". I will never go back to this location and called the owner a few days later to cancel my account with him. He said he was doing it because they have a right to enforce a mask mandate. I told him, well, I have a right to never shop here again. If Wild Birds Unlimited cares about their brand, they need to ensure their locations abide by CDC guidelines as strictly as they did at the beginning of the pandemic when the masks started. This and other establishments were very quick to enforce the CDC mask mandate but now, I suppose, they can't "follow the science" because their politics doesn't allow it. Any establishment still enforcing a mask mandate is doing so for purely political means, not factual and scientific ones.
