I dropped my 6 month Cocker Spaniel puppy to have a full bath and hair cut. I had an appointment at 1PM. I arrived back at 4:30 PM and my groomer (I think she was named Cher) The groomer said they had to stop services because my puppy and tried to bite.. I picked him up and they say they bathed him but he was still wet! I was quite surprised that 3 hours plus and the service had not been completed. He did appear to be stressed. I had them dry my dog and was still charged the full hair cut/bath price. What a rip off and have never been back. Nice people but poor quality grooming. Their attention to detail is extremely poor and follow through is nearly nonexistent.

I took my 9 month old puppy in for her first grooming and they did a great job. Kat was so patient. My dog is still very puppy hyper so I know it was extra work and I really appreciate it. They always take their time and that means a lot. The store has always been so accommodating with all our pets. They were grooming our senior girl of 17 before she passed away. Summers Ona's groomer and even though we moved pretty far away we still make the trips to go have Summer groom Ona because otherwise I'd get an earful from Ona, lol. When I say "wanna go see Summer and get a bath", Ona's reaction is priceless and when we arrive even though Ona is small she gets on her hind legs dancing and pushes the swing door open to get to Ms. summer. Had only been in this place a couple of times, but I was looking to adopt an older kitten or younger cat. SpokAnimal had cats listed at the South Hill locations of PetCo and Pet Smart, so . . . PetCo had one fixed mother cat who was a little PTSD of other cats, so, no . . . PetSmart had three older cats and ten kittens of various ages. I witnessed what I believe was animal cruelty!! I brought my 2 babies in a witnessed young female with her dirty blonde hair in pony tail brutalize a small dog, while cutting his nails. The dog was screaming! Screaming so much I sought his doggie mommy in the store an told her about it. She said her dog was a bit theatrical so I dismissed it. She said that the offender was not a good groomer. I should have listened to my instincts...My dog was subsequently injured not even an hour later by a groomer!!! I was not charged BUT good God what kind of monster is working there!!! I will never bring my dogs there and I warn everyone to go elsewhere, until the groomer is removed and retrained!!! BE WARNED! I dropped my golden off at 115 and was called at 420 to come and get my dog. The groomer said they had to stop services because my dog was stressed. I picked him up and they had bathed him but he was still wet! I was quite surprised that 3 hours plus and the service had not been completed. He did not appear to be stressed and have never been called by a groomer with any concerns. He is groomed regularly and has been to many groomers in town. They have actually told me he is so cooperative and gentle. Needless to say. I was very disappointed and will not be back. I felt overpriced also. Quote before they started was 119.00. I have never paid that amount with all the groomers I have taken him to. Beware limited experienced groomer. read more

Today, my kitties are out of food because the order I paid for, that my caregiver went to pick up for me (I have ALS (Lou Gehrig''s Disease and Alzheimer's (Early-Onset) My caregiver was told by the manager (GM) that I was not allowed to have the (Order I paid-in full to AFTERPAY) and she was told, " if I didn't like it, I could take it up with corporate." I have never met this manager, I have been housebound for 2 years. I DEPEND HEAVILY on my local PetSmart for the needs of my two elderly kitties and 2 dogs (who are going through so much already, havin recently lost my Grandma, who was also my roomate of 20 plus years, who died recently and its all my caregiver and I can do just to hold our home together and love my babies through this hell. Now, to have my order taken for me, (Except the Dog food) after my caretaker begged because my girls were out of food. Now, without a refund for the 15 pound bag of Blue Wildnerness kitty food I had already paid for that was taken away, along with the carbon, stabilizer, water polishing pads, and carbon for my aquarium which were also taken away without a refund. With no refund, I am unable to re-purchase, my fish are dying and my cats are hungry and looking to me as to what to do. I also spent $15 in rewards on my order, nothing of the $109 I spent through AFTERPAY, has been refunded. I JUST WANT MY ORDER, 69183230 THAT WAS illegally taken away from me, for lord knows what reason??? Before I became housebound, everyone at this store was so kind, they always helped me to my Mustang, I am on oxygen and even then was struggling to walk- I never even had to ask, they were always eager and ready to help me. I asked to get my dogs nails trimmed and she said she can't because they only do walk in trims from 10-4. I said "Her nails are really long, also I only had a ride to the salon today as I have no car of my own and since there is no one in here, can you please just make an exception and cut them real fast?" I normally go in here for the grooming services but the cashiers up front are always friendly as well. Lots of clearance items all the time to pick up toys for your pets too, the only thing I realize is they have often been in the wrong spot and you get overcharged so just make sure you are watching the ring up the items as they go. Also normally this location is fairly slow so no line when checking out. Now as for grooming, I take my cats here every few months to get nailcaps put on my cats (they charge $19 for front paws, I highly suggest you do this if you have cats that like scratching, a good way to keep your furniture in tact and not have to declaw them). Tammy is the manager of the grooming section, and she is absolutely amazing. She remembers all my kitties everytime I go in there and always takes the best care of them (even my beast that is a pain in the butt). I seen her with other pets as well, and you can tell she treats everyones pets like they are her own. If you need grooming services, definitely check this place out. read more

I took my 6 month pomchi to Hannah. I paid full price & was told she couldn't & wouldn't do more because she kept trying to nip. Second time I took her same thing. I asked can't you use a muzzle? Her answer was no they don't use muzzles. Today , third time I figured 3 strikes your out. Same thing again, this time she did do her feet. Charged me 46. Dollars for a bath & foot trim. Told me because she tries to nip I should take her to a mom & pop shop. I was livid! No compassion, no reimbursement nothing absolutely no satisfaction. I've been a reptile enthusiast and breeder for many years, and i'd say that disappointed is an understatement for the care of the tiny fragile lizards that i've seen housed here. The chameleons were housed in glass enclosures, anoles had cut up faces and busted lips, bearded dragons were trying to eat their own poop. there wasn't a single food bowl in sight. the beardies were even trying to eat each other. As well, the "care" sheet said that they could be housed together, which is a HUGE no for basically any species. they'll kill each other!! At least they were not housed on sand or any other loose substrate, but overall i was extremely disappointed by the husbandry and care of these animals. read more

Brought my four year old chihuahua-cocker spaniel mix in for grooming today and was extremely disappointed in the interaction I had and my dog had with Sandra, the groomer. My dog is a rescue who has been through a lot and is very timid to new people, which I wrote in the comments prior to my appointment. I even included that it helps him to see me through the window when he is getting groomed. I reminded the groomer when I got there that he is timid to new people but he is not mean. Ten seconds into walking into the salon she told me to leave the room and go outside so she could "take a look at him". I thought this was odd-- he's been groomed multiple times at other salons and another time at this PetSmart and the groomers usually take a few minutes to grab some treats and let the dog warm up to them next to their owners, I mean they are complete strangers and absolute no dog likes the groomer. Directly after leaving the room she comes out and grabs me and says he can't be seen because "he's too aggressive". I understand having to be safe as a groomer but I was disappointed in the absolute minimal attempt she took to get my dog comfortable and her interaction with me telling me to leave the room. I also feel that she did no read the comments regarding my dog and what helps him (seeing me through the window) or else she wouldn't have immediately forced me to leave the room. Here's a picture of my "aggressive" dog with another PetSmart groomer, Anissa. I appreciated that she sat in the lobby with my dog and I and gave him treats and let him warm up to her without immediately separating the dog from its owner. When you have a rescue dog who has came absolutely so far, it's pretty upsetting to hear someone who works with animals on the daily talk about a dog with no compassion after a ten second interaction. I wish she would have asked me for tips or read my initial comment I made on the appointment before giving up so quickly-- grooming appointments are hard to find and people change their schedules to fit things in. read more

I took my boyfriend's kids dog here recently, and the service was amazing. The dog has probably never had his nails clipped, and was fearful going into the grooming session. They were not sure it could be done. The dog came out looking, and smelling great, and they said he did well likely due to the skill and comfort of the groomer. I believe Elizebeth helped us. I have never taken my own dog to get groomed, however, I am thinking about bringing him here because the experience was SO positive. read more

This place has amazing staff, always very helpful. The fish are not great quality though. Recently purchased 8 mollies who were on sale and within three weeks they are now all dead. My original five fish are all fine and healthy. I fear the mollies died from a fungus infection. I hope to see better qualify fish in the future. read more

I originally had an appointment to have my miniature schnauzer groomed at Petco. I arrived at the store at my appointment time to find out that my appointment had been changed to a half hour earlier without my knowledge and I had "missed" my appointment. The groomer told me she would have tried to fit me in, but she had to go to lunch. I then called PetSmart and told them about this and asked if they had any openings for that day. They said to bring my dog in at 12:30, which was only a half hour away! They were more than happy to fix something that Petco messed up and will forever have my business, unlike Petco. The groomer did a great job and was so sweet and great with my dog! Thank you so much PetSmart! You guys know customer service. read more
