If I could leave zero stars I would. I am sure the owner of the Salon will comment on my post as soon as she reads it. She seems to take pleasure in not owning up to standard industry practices, gaslighting, and overall AWFUL service. A couple weeks ago, took my Mom's dog in to get a cut. She was quoted $55. Got a call from Pawsitive to pickup the dog as the groom was done, and was told it was $120?!?!?! I asked why it was double the price and they said it was because my Mom said it was a small dog that they were grooming when she called to setup the appt. I asked why she wasn't called when she dropped off the dog and they saw the size of her. The response from Pawsitive Image ( Anthony) was we were too busy. I asked how this could be rectified as my Mom never had said she was a small dog.. she had told them her dog was 60-70 pds. Anthony then became irate saying nothing was going to be done because my Mom lied about the dog's size? Lied?!?!? She never lied! I have been taking our two dogs to Pawsitive for years, and had referred my Mom there. She never lied about her dog's size. I then was put on hold from Anthony and the Owner of the salon went off( I didn't even know he transferred me to the Owner) saying I was being unreasonable asking for them to do the right thing and lower the price. She then stated that I wasn't going to pay to get pepper? (Gaslighting all the way happening here!) I had NEVER said I wasn't going to pay to get my moms dog. I then went and picked up my Mom's dog. The owner came out with my moms dog and yelled at me for awhile. i asked the owner her name and she refused to give it. I had already been in the process of paying and I told her to give me my moms dog, and she said no. I said I have already paid give me the dog. She again said no. At this point I said if you don't give me the dog I am calling the Cops. She said fine.. call em. I left the building and called the COPS. They were on there way there when she gave my Mom's dog to my husband who was also in there waiting while I was on the phone with the cops. The owner from the window waived at me mockingly and said goodbye with a wicked smile. DON'T BRING YOUR PET HERE! EVER! Also...they kept changing prices over the years, and not informing me with our dogs. I do believe unsavory practices are happening at this business, and they are overcharging people deliberately. I should never had referred my Mom there. I know this is a long email but I am seeing others posts/reviews and our experience needs to be heard. As far as the quality of the haircuts over the years for my pups they have gone from good to mediocre.Spend your money with a company who welcomes your pet like family, and treats you with common decency. read more

Regarding Pawsitive Image Dog Spa: I posted a review several months ago on Google, about how my dog was injured by Anthony one of the owners. The owners response is not true. My caregiver was with me and can completely refute what he posted in his response. My dog is a well trained service dog to a disabled veteran. She did not jump up on bench or grooming table, as he has stated. I told him not to let her try to jump up in the high bathing tub. He took her by her leash and let her attempt to jump up and she slammed her entire backside into the bathing tub, Anthony then pushed her in. My caregiver and I were astonished at his total disregard,to not let her jump up that high, by letting her attempt to jump up that high. The tubs have pullout ramps, which I've used when I've done her bathing and so have the other groomers. Took her to the vet who observed her limping and later had bruising on her belly. I wish now I'd followed through with attorney's advice and taken Anthony to small claims court. Attorney said I should ask for $10,000 for damage to my service dog. She later developed a lump in a breast, which had to be removed. He's lying and my caregiver Dorathy wrote me a statement, as to what she observed, which I showed the attorney, and totally refutes what Anthony posted. I would never take a dog to them for grooming. I now take my dog to a groomer with 5 stars, who lifts her in/out of bathing tub and puts grooming table in low position lifting her up and off it. If Anthony wants to lie that's on him and shows his character. GA read more

This morning I had an appointment with a groomer that had be recommended to me by name, when I arrived I was informed that groom most likely wouldn't be in. I was a little nervous leaving my six month old puppy as it was very loud and chaotic. I filled out the paperwork and decided to leave my puppy anyway as she desperately needed her undercoat blown out. I was quoted that the groom would be approximately 2 hours. I received a call about a hour later. My puppy was damp because the said she didn't like the blow dryer. When they retrieved her from the holding areas the let her straight loose to run across the groom unescorted and with out her leash, collar or harness I said hello to my puppy, groomer was grabbing these items of the wall and then let her our before putting these items, my puppy jumped on me them ran towards the door. This upset as some who used to work at dog daycare I understand how important it is to have a handle on the client's animal before handing them over to their owner. I left a review on Google and complemented the shop on caring about my puppy stress levels l, but was still disappointed in my experience so I made the decisions to say I wouldn't be returning. I'm now adding that I would never return to the shop because of the response to my Google review. I'm going to post a picture, as reinforced my feeling of less that quality professionalism. Great place to have your dog groomed, or do it yourself. My dog is always happy and very clean after each appointment!

If I could give minus stars that is what I would do. This is the second time we ask for our pom to get cut and to leave a little black marking on her tail. Well her head the cut is lopsided and some short and other long. Looks like a 5 year old did it. This time we wrote directions down and they did not even follow directions. The pom did not even get her back hips combed out. Lumps of fur came out!! We stated in person and in the note not to put any fragrances on any of our dogs as we have severe asthma and fragrance sensitive. The stuff they put on her was to try and cover up the fact they did not bath her cut or trim her ears at all did not clean them ! She looks so bad I have taken several pictures of her. I would not post but this is the second time this has happened to the same dog! If they do not know how to cut a pom they should say so? By the way this time we ask for our money back on her and the manager refused. So What I would like to do is picket that shop. So no bath lots of cheap perfume and the cut is really like a small child did it. read more

On November 19th my husband stopped by Pawsative Image to inquire and make an appointment for our OES. The date and time was set for today at 12:00. He was encouraged by the friendliness and courtesy of the man taking down the appointment. My husband arrived five minutes early and before he could even get out of the car a woman came out and bluntly/rudely told him the establishment was refusing service to groom our dog. No explanation was given, nor the possibility to reschedule. I had read both positive and negative reviews of this place but thought that a situation very much like we just experienced was an anomaly. Apparently not. If a person wants to risk dealing with deranged and dysfunctional business practices, this is the place. I do not recommend!! read more

This place is freaky! Rude woman who must be the owner has no problem yelling at people who come in her place of business. Right in front of customers and staff. Yelling. Took my two small dogs in a week and a half ago. The gal we talked to unfortunately wouldn't cut their hair as short as we normally get it done and now both of their haircuts are looking overgrown already. They were also done extremely fast which is great if they had been cut how we had requested, however, in this case it seems as if they maybe were rushed because the cuts were uneven in some areas and looked a little choppy. NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE - Our dog Simba, had the last 5 months of regularly scheduled grooming visits to Pawsitive Image groomers. The first and second time he was groomed and trimmed well with little hair to brush out when he returned home. On the third visit in August everything was like the first time except they shaved our dog's belly so close there was a 6 inch long cut on his belly and it was raw and just barely bleeding. We called and complained, they apologized. On the fourth visit in September 2021 the work was as we requested them to be more careful and we did not have to brush Simba out after his grooming. This time, today October 8th, 2021, they groomed Simba as requested with the exception they did not brush him out as we expected and paid them to do. I had just vacuumed out my car completely and all the seats then ran it through the carwash. When driving Simba home with the two rear windows open about eight inches, his hair began flying all over the car and once home I figured I'd brush Simba out the get any loose hair missed during the grooming. After 15 minutes of careful brushing I had two handfuls of hair and it kept coming out. I called the groomer and they said to bring him in and they will plow the loose hair off. Upon my arrival the groomed who worked on Simba met me at the check-in gate and began rudely instructing me on how that was normal for all dogs like ours to shed, and how she had years of experience and I only had him 9 months. I tried to talk and tell her it was not so on the last several visits but she kept cutting me off to talk herself. I finally asked, "Can you please just blow him off like I paid for" Then she took our dog and spent about ten seconds making two or three passes with her blow dryer and returned him to me at the gate telling me if I was not happy I should look for another groomer. I said nothing and left an unhappy customer and I'm looking for another groomer with less of an attitude and willing to be responsible in doing the right work for the fee charged. I've used this salon for both self serve and grooming. Great location for me, and it's always been priced right, clean and friendly. Feel that they welcome both me and my animals! They've always gone out of their way to help me with an issue or problem when I've used the self serve bathing tubs. Even spent extra time getting some pitch out from between the pads, and were very gentle and caring. Have used them to help keep my 19 year old long haired kitty looking good, not an easy task! Would recommend them to anyone! read more

Now, I can't really speak to anything they do regarding dog grooming. But one of the services they offer is that you can take your pet in there and bathe them yourself, which is what I did the other day... I wasn't allowed to bathe the dog in the shower, so I called them up, and they told me to come right in. They had plenty of space. I showed up 20 minutes later, and had everything ready for me. Awesome. I got my very confused dog up into the tub and chained her to the front so that she couldn't run off. Bathed her, did our usual routine on that front. I used their towels to dry her, even though I brought my own. Perfectly fine experience. The part that I was slightly incredulous about is that the cost was about $15 for less than 15 minutes of work on my part. Perhaps it's my naivete, but that seems high. read more

I took my 6 month old labradoodle puppy in for her first grooming today. When I made the appointment they told me that if it's her first grooming it's likely she wouldn't get a full groom as they don't want to push her limits and have her fear them for future visits. Their goal was for her to like it! Which I so appreciated the thought and the goal for her to enjoy the groomer. I took her in today and all staff members were petting her and welcoming. They first had her run around to smell and play a bit with another dog to get some energy out. I picked her up 2 hours later and she was happy as can be and looked great! They were able to do a full groom after all as she didn't mind it too much. Will definitely be back! read more

Think twice before taking your dog to Pawsitive Image. I have been taking my dog, Emma, to PI since 2013. For many years, I never had an issue with the grooming until 2016. Emma fell off the table and her tooth became loose. Accidents do happen. Mikal, the owner, did feel really bad and we made an arrangement to "shave" off the bill for groomings for almost two years after the incident. Then came last Thursday, November 8th.... Now I am paying cash again for Emma's haircuts. When I dropped her off on Thursday morning to get trimmed, I even paid in advance with a 15% tip , I had to make sure she was ready by 11:30. When my son came to pick her up, she was bleeding and had been cut on the front leg (elbow). He didn't feel comfortable leaving her alone with an injury like that. He also didn't want to bring her back and expose her wound to all of the other dogs at PI so he phoned the vet and brought her in. They stitched her cut up with glue, prescribed not one, but two antibiotics and she left with a cone on her head to protect her from licking the wound. After leaving a message with Mikal, the owner, that said- "It looks like Emma is hurt again, I will have a vet bill and my son missed a few hours of work. I would like a refund, the vet bill and missed wages." She phoned me the next morning- yelling at me saying No refund, No vet bill and that I was the "rudest" person she has ever known....What? Really... THEN she HUNG UP ON ME TWICE. I have never seen such RUDE behavior in all of the years I have been in business. She didn't want to counter offer something else and didn't even refund my grooming bill???? If she had offered to do something, I wouldn't be writing this at all- BUT NOTHING? Wrong move on your part, Mikal. I see other reviews with just about the same thing. Always remember- THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. Even if you don't agree. Hanging up on a customer? I don't care if my dog is matted it's how you treated me and apparently there are other reviewers on here as well that didn't have a matted dog that seem to believe that you are a horrible person to work with. I have been taking my dog here for a year or so and the last few times I've asked for a specific cut. They didn't listen. This time I even brought a photo, hoping a picture would be the solution, but once again they didn't listen. I'm very disappointed and sad that I have to find a new groomer. I liked the owner and thought she seemed knowledgeable but I'm not sure if her helper is who cut my dog's hair, but it definitely was not up to snuff. She has a pricing sign up explaining all the reasons $45 per cut is worth it and all the work that goes in to the dog grooming session. I found this sign to be unnecessary; anyone who gets their dogs groomed regularly knows that $40 is pretty much the middle of the road pricing in Spokane. $45 is hardly an outrageous price. Unless of course you've had issues with customers not thinking your services are worth it, and or if you're new to this business and inexperienced. Either way I regard this as hind sight. I have two dogs and never get out of the grooming experience without paying $90-$100, so again, this is not about price. However, i will not be back because this groomer either hasn't trained her people to do $45 grooms, or she's not that experienced herself. My one dog is easy to cut, his fur lays flat, whereas my girl's hair is long and she's a lassah, so Harder to cut right. She was totally botched. Face hair choppy, AT BEST, whiskers uneven and rough, and hair left in her armpits that sticks out and looks ridiculous with her short summer cut. Also, it really bothered me that NOT ONE TIME did the owner OR her employee say my dog's names correctly, despite me correcting her each time. I will go back to Excel dog grooming. read more

This place was awesome, we brought our black lab here for the first time today and we loved it! We utilized the self serve wash, which is a great option. I used to take her to a different dog wash but this place takes the cake. The environment was very relaxed and felt comfortable. The owners were very helpful and educated. They took an interest in our dog's skin condition and made some great suggestions for products that could possibly help. Plus it was the perfect price point. The owner clipped her nails perfectly and quickly! We will definitely be coming here from now on. read more

I took my schnauzer for a cut and said to trim her face and the regular cut. Thinking they are dog groomers they would know how to cut my schnauzer, picked her up I ask what was this, she said that all I said was to trim her face. Okay where did you get your groomers license?
