If there were 10-stars I would. We have an elderly mini golden doodle who was panting constantly, wasn't sleeping, and struggled up stairs. We thought he was a fresh haircut would help cool him down and help with the panting. He had been to multiple groomers before who declined to groom him because they said his panting was anxiety and they didn't dare stress him more. Lately, he didn't like to be touched and wouldn't let us take out his tangles so we were really stuck. ENTER SYLVANO. We told Sylvano, "If he doesn't make it through this grooming, don't feel bad, he's had a great life." We really thought he only had days or weeks to live. BUT not only did Doodles go willingly with him on the leash as they walked around the driveway, but he seemed happy to be with Sylvano and came back a CHANGED DOG! Not only did he not pant AT ALL but he was happy to be petted, slept easily, and I swear he was 3 years younger! This made us all sooo happy. We don't know what magic happened in that van, but it was not drugs because it was long-lasting. We are all so very grateful. He is an artisan and a pet whisperer. He's also groomed our crazy cats who came back calm and cool. We just love Sylvano! I'm sad that the 1-star reviewers didn't get a chance to experience Sylvano's service. I don't think those reviews are reflective of his capabilities. In the photo, yes he looks stark, but he had so many tangles, he had to go short. As first time dog owners we weren't entirely sure of how to care for our adopted border collies double coat. We booked with Sylvano who came and cleaned him right up. He isn't a fan of vehicles and usually gets very anxious and shaky afterwards. He seemed to have no problem going with Sylvano, how could he not, Sylvano is so friendly and caring and I know he could recognize that. Our doggo looks and smells fantastic and wasn't at all anxious after. We will be booking again in the spring/summer to get him ready for the hot weather. We used the mobile pet studio today for our cat and were VERY impressed. First, he did an amazing job. Our kitty looks so much better. Additionally, he was very nice, both to us and our cat! I was worried that our kitty would hate the experience but she took it in stride. I can't recommend him enough and I will be using his services regularly from now on. read more

I can't speak to the grooming skills of Sylvano's because we never made it that far. But I can tell you the way they conduct business is sketch. Despite multiple confirmations (including one the morning of) my appointment was canceled shortly before the scheduled time because the owner's mother was in pain. In terms of excuses, this is up there with "the dog ate my homework." Huge inconvenience because I had scheduled the day around this appointment. No alternative date was given. Edited 1/4/15: I am updating this review to add that last week the owner of Hot Dogz wrote us a check for the veterinary bill that was incurred. In the end he was very nice and apologetic about what happened to my dog. Do NOT take your pet here!! I dropped my dog off Friday afternoon at 1pm for a routine 3 hour grooming appointment. I got the call that he was ready at 3:50 pm and when my Dad got there to pick him up he could not walk or bear weight on his back right leg. We were not told what happened, but that "something" happened to his leg while being shampooed. Not only that, but his fur was not even cut. His head was trimmed and he was shampooed and blown dry only. AND he still had the nerve to charge us $45!! I had to take my dog to the vet today, he has a FRACTURED FOOT!! The owner is refusing to refund my money and will not pay the $700 vet bill. read more

I'm so happy I tried Hot Dogz. After a move from San Diego to Spokane, we were in need of a new grooming establishment. Bonfufu (my beautiful little yorkie) is a little crazy- too crazy for a traditional yorkie cut. Sylvano greeted me and was very friendly. We got Foof in and out in about 2 hrs. Lee groomed Foof and he did a great job! He didn't miss a beat and even left Foof's long eyelashes in tact. The best part about it is how wonderful she smells. Her coat is shiny and smooth and even flake free, which is big for us because she has very sensitive skin. I definitely recommend Hot Dogz and I will be returning. read more

Tried to set a grooming appointment on Monday for my cat this weekend. Used Sylvano's booking app. Appointment was accepted, but received a text the next day from the booking service moving my appt to Wednesday without consulting me. Canceled that appt, and rescheduled for the weekend at a different time. That appt was also accepted. The next day the appt was moved to another day and time, again without consulting me. It was extremely unprofessional to accept my appointments, but then move them without talking to me first. Won't use again, and beware prospective clients: this business does not respect or honor its appointments it accepts. read more

It was hard for me to decide to trust a groomer with our cocker spaniel. He's 11 years old and recently became completely blind. We adopted the poor guy as a rescue laast year (he'd spent 6 weeks in a kennel) and he shivers with fright every time he goes into a vet office. Sylvano was very caring and helped me feel comfortable trusting him with our guy. He had to shave through the matting that had built up, but was very careful with him. He complained that my dog cried when he separated the mom from the puppy. Then he said he had to turn me in. To Scraps, I think. Said my dog had red eyes. Well the red eyes were obviously caused by something he used during the grooming process. He gave him a shedding treatment and it must've gotten into his eyes because his eyes were just fine when he went in. I was livid. Steer clear. read more

My Dogs Horrible Experience I did not want to write a bad review because I do not enjoy complaining. Unfortunately after some time of thinking it over I feel it is necessary to write my experience because I would not want another owner to have their dog experience the problems my dog is now experiencing. At first I was trying to shrug this grooming experience as miscommunication for what I wanted but it is clear that no common sense was taken to make sure my dog's coat remained beautiful and functional. I have a golden doodle (75% poodle). I asked for a short hair cut but received a hack job. Her whole face and body was shaved completely off. Poodle's coats should never be shaved this short because most likely it will not grow back curly. An experienced groomer should know to never shave a poodle this short. On top of the misunderstanding of the length of the coat I asked for her face and ears to be cleaned up, he made a joke saying your dog will look like a rat if I shave her face I then REITERATED NO I do NOT want my dogs face to be shaved I just want all her hair to be clean up and shortened. He said so "teddy bear face, I then said yes teddy bear face" what I received was my dogs WHOLE HEAD SHAVED. What has now left me to actually write this review is because not ONLY did he mistakenly SHAVE my whole dog he left her with cuts and scratches all over her. ALL FOUR paws were shaved off and left bleeding and with multiple cuts. Also both ears were cut and left bloody. I had to say something so that no one else has such a terrible experience leaving their dog traumatized and constantly itchy/licking her wounds unable to sleep. Also the fear of her beautiful curly coat growing back without being curly due to the completely wrong level of shave she was given. He even sent her home with me saying "I wouldn't ever cut my poodle like this, I want my dogs to stay beautiful." Then why on EARTH would you cut my dog taking away her beautiful coat even if you thought I wanted to shave her whole body head to toe a knowledgeable groomer would stay on the side of caution and user a longer cut. IT'S easier to cut MORE off than to magically make the hair grow back! read more

The groomer was very friendly but this was not a $70 experience I will repeat. I made a reservation for my dog to be shaved down as he sheds badly, instead of doing this the groomer did a Furminator treatment on him which has left his skin in terrible condition, flaking and scabbed from neck to tail. The shedding wasn't fixed either. Either the Furminator process irritated his skin or the double shampoo he was given dried it out which combined with the irritation of the Furminator was a disaster, I've been applying ointment to him for the past week. Excellent! I have been taking my girls (toy pom and bichon) here for years and we get the best treatment ever. My girls are beautifully groomed. He is the only groomer that has had the patience to work with them. Previous groomers would not take them back because they said they were bad mannered. They were just scared and tried to bite them. Sylvan is kind and gentle with my girls and they come out beautiful every time. They actually lIke going to get groomed now. They used to tremble when we arrived at previous groomers it was always a very traumatic experience for them. He really has a way with animals that puts them at ease and they come out happy and beautful every time. He is a true artist in his field. After this groomer/owner was recommended, I took my dog here once. A groomer-in-training took my dog back. First, an awful hair "trim", then some sort of nice smelling powder on him, lastly, I couldn't get him awake enough for a walk until the next afternoon. Can't prove it but I thought my puppy was drugged! Never take your dog here unless you're a friend of the groomer/owner. read more

I am sorry to say after 5 years of taking my 4 dogs to Sylvano, I will not be returning. The quality of his work has truly declined, and my dogs, and daughter's dogs have been injured, and treated without the special care they once were. The last injury required medical help, with stitches. What was once a very wonderful experience, is no longer. No more feathers and bows for my girls, or bandanas for my boys. The cuts have been horrible, I could have done better myself with a dull razor. What a shame.Overpriced shabby work now. read more

We took our 10-year old female shepherd to Sylvano's last week. This was her first time to a professional groomer as we've been cleaning and shampooing her at home. Her issues with itchy skin and general trouble managing her coat swayed us to try a groomer. We were thrilled with Sylvano's professionalism, how he handled her cleaning and grooming and how different our dog looks and acts after her visit.
