If I could give it a zero I would. We brought our dog to Play N Stay while in town on a visit to a local university. After searching several places we decided to bring our dog here based on all the great reviews. Let me tell you that this place is the complete opposite of where I want my dog! Upon walking inside I noticed a window to my left and looked through it into a room maybe 40-50 feet in length and 25 feet wide. It was fully enclosed with several toddler play slides and a black rubber mat for flooring. There was a single person with about 80 dogs crammed tightly into this space and not a single dog had room to run or move freely without hitting another dog. Not to worry though, none of the dogs were interested in playing. All the dogs were standing around watching the only person in the room. When he walked they all followed, when he stopped and stood around, they did too. Two dogs were so stressed they were pushing themselves against a chain link "wall" about 8 feet from me and panting. It was a horrific scene. I asked if the dogs were allowed out doors and they are not! They have no access whatsoever to the outdoors. All the dogs have to stand in their own feces. I mentioned my concern to the person at the desk, but had no choice to leave our dog there, I was in a terrible bind. I was supposed to be gone all day but came back within a couple of hours. When I returned to Play N Stay the window had been covered up by a thick black piece of material making it impossible to see what was going on inside. This place is deplorable and I would never, ever recommend taking your dog here, and if you already do, I would find another place because your dog is probably super stressed every time you drop it off. read more

Don't hesitate to use this animal boarding/care!! They truely care about the fur babies and parents too! They make sure your dog is safe, needs are met and are readily available for phone check-ins/updates while you are away. read more

I inquired about taking my 55 pound two-year-old dog to play and stay. I had been taking him to doggy daycare for his entire life in the previous state I lived in. He was beloved by them, averaged 15 days daycare and usually a week boarding every six months. Not a single negative review, which these close minded individuals could have verified easily!! I quickly chatted with the staff member to find out because my dog is a pitbull they would not be accepting him. I then went on to make sure the staff member knew that this dog was a companion animal prescribed by the veterans association and trained for specific instances by the veterans association this made no difference. They did not ask to verify the paperwork... even after I offered. I also additionally told him that I was a disabled veteran myself and that is why I have the dog and wanted to make sure 100% that they knew they were discriminating regardless of having all the facts. I don't get out much, this is how my dog gets exercise and play. This business should absolutely be avoided for their discriminatory policies for turning away disabled veterans and their animals regardless of valid documentation. If you are a veteran, know one, or if you just appreciate them, avoid this garbage excuse of a daycare. To be clear this is not just me saying that this animal "can be a support animal" I have thorough documentation both from the veterans psychiatrist and the veterans training program. Absolute trash. They WERE NOT even willing to meet the dog!!! read more

As said in prior reviews this place is discriminatory based on breed and has other strange thoughts also. My wife originally contacted a worker in the morning and was told to send in vaccine records and all would be well, she did. Rabies by the vet as required by law and I do my own non rabies vaccines as I am a physician. We were told that the dogs could not be boarded as a result of this fact. We have never had this issue. Many dogs, be they herding dogs, farm dogs or hunters have their vaccine administration done by owners. Then they stated it didn't matter because one of my dogs is a Staffordshire Bull and they allow no bull dog breeds in their kennel..geriatric 11 year old face licking, dog loving nanny dog or not. Steer clear. Close minded policies equal bad mojo! read more

We had our dog there for several years. However, we had been noticing too many dogs in there. When i asked a gal about that..she said well people don't call ahead reserve space , they just show up. Well you cant keep that many big dogs in such a cramped place and not have a problem. Our dog bit another dog. He is 6 years old and has been kenneled for years and never bit a dog. Our trainer had no problems with him and all his dogs. I sent our dog to him for a over night and to check any aggression. Trainer had no problems but they have a large dog area. There should be a limit to boarding any large size dogs. Isn't there regulations about that?Nice owner but too many dogs and it could be dangerous. I would say i would not bring large dogs there for their safety. read more

My daughters dog spent 6 days there. He was fully vaccinated. When he was picked up he was sick and needed a vet appointment and antibiotics. When she called to let them know they acted like they could care less and said oh yes several other dogs got sick. This was from 1-12-23 till 1-20-23. When they released him on the 20th they never said one word about him being sick and they had to have known as there was green mucus in his nose. Maybe they fed him and took care of daily needs but I feel they were very neglectful in relaying his illness to my daughter. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Staff was nice. I always request my senior pet be left in her pen except for walking and interaction with staff. She was there for 2 weeks while I brought my husband with terminal cancer to see his family in December 2022. I left my pet with other boarding places - mostly Petsmart Hotels which have always been awesome - and NEVER came back to find my dog sick. My baby girl came home with kennel cough!!! She was sick for 3 weeks after we returned! She's fully vaccinated. All dogs kept there should be. I will NEVER take her back there again! We have chosen to hire a house/pet sitter after that terrible experience. read more

The staff are so good with the dogs. They are patient and truly seem to enjoy their furry friends. The facility has separate areas for the big dogs and smalls although friendlier big dogs are sometimes let in. There are lots of toys and equipment for the dogs to play on. read more

This place is a joke. The staff is clearly too young, inexperienced and does not know anything about dog behavior whatsoever. Quite a shame that places like this exist. I am a dog behaviorist and advised them on how to deal with this dog. They are very nice and they do shake their heads in agreement a lot but that's about it. I took a 12 pound recently rescued dog to stay there for 4 days to include a bath and told them he does not like being picked up suddenly. Everyone agreed. When I picked him up, the homeless looking manager or owner or some kind of guy that shouldn't be around dogs, told me my dog was not welcome there anymore because he is aggressive when picked up and they were afraid of him so they didn't bathe him. How ironic is that? A dog boarding facility that is afraid of dogs and can't deal with a 12 pound dog that doesn't like to be picked up by surprise. Glad there are so many other facilities that have people that know dogs. Play and Stay is a place to stay away from 100%. read more

We would take our dog every day but she needs to have a break and just rest because she comes home worn out. We can tell as she runs to the door each morning that she wants to go and "see her friends." A great staff that takes the time to know and learn about your pet. We have been taking our dogs here for over 20 years for day care and boarding, and can't imagine taking them anywhere else. Our first experience with them was with a very shy dog, who was also afraid of other dogs. She learned to tolerate other dogs and seemed to love going in each time to play. Our current two dogs have been several times. One is very skittish and they have been great with her. We highly recommend them. read more

My dog loves to play to here. He can't wait to jump out of the car to get inside! I stop in at different times on different days, and the staff is always in the play area making sure all the dogs are having a good time. Many evenings when I get there to pickup Sparky a staff member has him in their lap and he is getting all sorts of good attention. I never worry a moment with my dog here! read more

I wish I had good things to say about this place, but I don't. First, it's over-priced. I brought in a 9 pound Yorkie and it was $20 per day for seven days. But that wasn't the main issue, they asked me if I wanted to pay extra to allow him out of his cage and play! Are you kidding me? I'm paying $140 just be locked up? My last pet boarder in another state bathed him for free if the stay was over 3 days, not here! $20 extra. So to top it all off I went to pick him up and it was cash/check only. Are you serious Play N Stay? It's 2016. I'm too young for checks, and too married to have much cash in my pocket. After a long trip out of town I just wanted to pick up my dog and go, but since they're too cheap to pay credit card fees the burden is put on the customer. And you should see how many dogs were packed in there. It's no surprise that all reviews are one star save one. I hope a competitor opens up soon. The place is disgusting. It's dark, reeks of dog urine, and the floor is covered in dog hair. During "play" time, the dogs aren't really allowed to play. Staff is forbidden to play with or touch the dogs. They feel it causes fighting amongst the dogs. Toys do too, so dogs don't get those either. Most of the dogs just wandered around slowly, looking terrified and stressed half to death. Staff walks around with spray bottles and sprays the dogs in the face if they play or bark or potty on the floor. Now, according to them, they aren't allowed to take the dogs outside. Apparently it's a city ordinance thing, so your dog has to use a gravel pee area to potty in. Probably why the whole dog area reeks. Anyway, if your dog is used to pottying outside, this is going to be hard for them to get used to. If they have an accident they'll be sprayed in the face. Someone else punishing my dog for typical, harmless dog behavior, like playing or making noise is uncomprehensible to me. Then they have a "nap time". This entails your dog being shoved into a crate that is inhumanely small for them, and forced to stay there for an hour. If they cry or whine or bark they get sprayed and yelled at. Dogs were in crates so small they couldn't sit up or move at all. They were literally jammed in there. Think puppy mills. I was sick when I saw it. The dogs were just so uncomfortable and stressed and scared. They honestly would have been a lot happier at home. I would never, under any circumstances take my dogs there. Take a tour, especially during nap time, before you leave your dog there. Your dog will thank you. read more

We love to take our 3 dogs here. It's great not only for the dogs to get out and socialize, but then we get three tired pups who sleep the rest of the night. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. They've always known which dogs are mine right when I've walk in. Can't recommend highly enough. read more

We've had 2 dogs that went here and they both LOVE IT! Our first dog was not very socialized and Josh and Julie did an amazing job of working with him to help him learn how to play. Our current dog loves playing ball and interacting with the staff and she is allowed to do that all day. It makes us feel wonderful knowing that she is getting attention and play. The owners and staff really care about dogs and their health and mental stimulation. A wonderful place! read more
