Location is honestly perfect, it's one of the only breakfast spots directly on the beach, besides a parking lot the ocean access is like 200 ft from the back. 9:30 on a Sunday, there was about a 10/15 min wait because limited cook staff. The menu has some really unique items. I ordered the scramble but honestly was intrigued by the tacos, perhaps next time. The sorbet mimosa was interesting, clearly fresh but maybe too many seeds for my liking. Our server was nice, but overall the organization of the restaurant reflects in the service. Many waitresses were just all over the place and it just was not being run very well. The wait to get the check was a bit much. Perhaps on off day but I'll definitely be back.

Normally I'd notice those things more, but then the bacon smell hit again and suddenly none of it seemed quite as important. I ordered two perfectly cooked over-medium eggs, sliced tomatoes (instead of potatoes), and a biscuit. I chose the biscuit over toast or an English muffin with absolutely no intention of eating it. My plan was to take it home for one of the kids. Then I took one bite. Friends, this was THE best biscuit I have ever eaten in my entire life. I don't throw around statements like that lightly. If you visit Banana River Cafe and order absolutely nothing else, order the biscuits. They deserve their own Yelp page. My husband got what I think was called the Power Bowl--a delicious-looking pile of rice, beans, carnitas, and all the ingredients that make a great burrito bowl. Our son absolutely housed his French toast. Our daughter ordered the Rosemary Chicken Salad Wrap with pasta salad. I sampled the chicken salad. It had a whisper of rosemary. A polite suggestion of rosemary. A rosemary cameo appearance. If you're going to call it Rosemary Chicken Salad, I'd personally vote for a little more rosemary. My daughter loved it, though. She also loved the pasta salad but wasn't a fan of the Parmesan sprinkled on top. If Parmesan must be involved, let's keep it to the kind that comes from a block and not the green plastic shaker. Just my two cents. The staff was friendly, service was great, and soda refills appeared before we even had to ask. I also loved the local artwork displayed throughout the restaurant. Every piece has a price tag, so if something catches your eye, you can literally take it home with you. Great food, great service, incredible biscuits, and enough bacon aroma to improve your mood instantly. We'll definitely be back.

It was one of the better eggs I ate while I was in town - it was not at all greasy, oily, runny, or dried out and rubbery. It was Just right. My husband ordered a Belgian waffle. I must admit it wasn't the prettiest waffle I've ever seen, but he said it was actually awesome. He also got turkey sausage links that were also great - I know this because I snagged half of one from him. Lily's was a little bit more expensive than the other local places we tried during our stay, but it was definitely one of the better experiences. We will be back!

I went to this place for the first time today to check it out. It was about 10;30 am, I was the only one in the inside dining area. The TV was on and a man was sitting at the counter. The two 40 some thing food servers talked SO FREAKING LOUD to each other and the man sitting there I could not hear my daughter that called me on my cell phone. Next the two load food servers wanted to sing happy birthday to a patron sitting out side so one went out and the other stood holding the door open letting flies in why singing happy birthday. I was looking for a nice quiet place to eat but paid about $10 plus tip to hear a bunch of crap from two load mouth women I did not even know. I will not return read more

We tried Shep's Diner on Aurora Road this morning for the first time. This place reminds us of an…read moreold style family restaurant from times past. It is clean and well maintained. We were welcomed as soon as we came through the door. Wait staff was very friendly and polite. Our order came out quickly and was delicious. It was great to have actual crispy shredded hash browns that we love and other breakfast items that were cooked perfectly. Prices are very reasonable. We will definitely return. Thanks Shep's

Service is great. Diner is overdue for a make-over. Food is mixed. Their burgers, pancakes,…read moreeggs, grits and home fries are decent . Heard the owner retired and new owner will be changing up the menu. Hope if they carry buttermilk biscuits, fries and onions rings they are homemade. Would rather have a smaller menu with homemade items than anything frozen or canned. Location has plenty of free parking.
