I had wanted to check out Scramble Parkour for a while and finally came after they added the new play area for younger kids. There is a baby area with smaller slides and a jungle with different level of slides and climbing routes. My two toddlers had a blast, we came 2 hrs before it closed on a Sunday at Thanksgiving weekend so there were not a whole lot of people to share the space with. The place was clean, they did enforce the grip socks rule. The union station cafe is available for a quick bite. We come to Shirlington a lot and I like that it is situated right next to free public parking. It can be pricey when taking two kids to Scramble compared to other indoor playgrounds. I will look out for their promotions for our next visit. Will recommend for first timers!

Came here for a kid's birthday party, and was really surprised at how not crowded the place was. I heard that this opened up in Shirlington recently, so maybe that's why it wasn't so packed. My son had a blast traversing through the obstacle course and running around the entire place. Looking at the party packages available, the pricing seems very reasonable too! I just might have my kid's birthday party here too!

I think Scramble Parkour is a welcome addition to Shirlington and a nice outlet for some of the older kids. I believe the space is under utilized and could benefit from a bit more activities and obstacles. Overall it was very clean, the equipment was new and well cared for, and the staff were all friendly. If they improve the number of activities and obstacles then this would definitely be 5*. Overall a good place for the afternoon with older (5-12ish) kids.

The place was nice, but it's unfortunately pretty hidden and not easily accessible. I live close by and had no idea this place even excited! PROS: The space is clean, and not too busy if you go during the week due to its low location-visibility. It's great for older kids between 7 and up, and even for adults who want to get some exercise on an obstacle course. CONS: While the space is nice and the staff were friendly, the layout of the rooms and equipment was a bit disjointed and doesn't flow well. There is one block of cubbies in the main area, which is fine if not crowded, but nowhere near enough for a busy day. There are only a couple benches in the main area, with the only tables being in the back corner of the small kids area which aren't immediately visible. Everything felt very closed off and compartmentalized rather than open and accessible like at the other locations. Equipment is pretty limited for older kids and very little to do for toddlers. The one section they do have for younger kids is basically a three -part section of magnetic building blocks that won't hold a toddler's attention for longer than maybe 20 minutes. The obstacle course is pretty basic, and when not busy, it can be fun but on a crowded day, I don't see how kids can fully enjoy it due to the layout. The cafe and the play area are completely separate, with the cafe being on the top floor when you come in. So, if you want food or a drink you can't easily pause and go over to a table, you'll have to walk up a flight of stairs and completely exit the play area, which I super wasn't fond of. I also wasn't fond of the flooring. The mats used were just slightly thicker puzzle pieces rather than the thick foam padding that's seen in other play places. Because of that, I worried the floor would still be a bit too hard if falling from a higher height, definitely for my toddler (who still wanted to play in the bigger area), but even for a slightly bigger kid. Additionally, there is zero cell phone reception in the building, so I couldn't even pull up the waiver when the staff asked me to use the QR code. You need to connect to the WiFi if you want to have any access to your phone--also a strike for me. All in all, this is a great place for older kids and I love the proximity to where we live, however, I was a little disappointed there wasn't as much age-appropriate things for my 2 year old to do because of the type of equipment available. While I'd still recommend this place if you have older kids, you might fare better at the other locations for the younger kiddos.

Scramble Parkour's advertising is extremely misleading. It should just be called a Watered-down-mini-Scramble because it is very small in comparison to it's Alexandria location and it does not accommodate teens (as attempted to depict on their website) by any stretch of the imagination nor reflects much "parkour" capability. Please don't waste your money

The Positives - Amazing murals - No music - Clean - Friendly staff The Negatives - Disjointed space - No seating on lower level - Not enough cubbies - Value for expense - Limited nearby parking I thought this was geared towards elementary thru adults, but there were so many toddlers. I wanted to be able to sit at a table, get some quiet work done while my elementary aged kids ran thru the the various obstacles but because it's a multi-level layout and there is an expectation you stay present with your children, it's not relaxing for parents. When it comes to parkour, I really prefer a format where an instructor leads and demonstrates age appropriate exercises and safe use of equipment (similar to Urban Evolution or Mindshift). My eldest child has done parkour and what I saw was NOT parkour. Unfortunately, I don't know many teens who can afford the $30 or who would want to work around the toddlers. I'm just not sure if the present format will prosper.

I thought this would be great for older kids, but there are limited things to do overall. Everything pretty much requires you to be right next to your kid ( the staff will say something if you aren't), so tough if you have more than one kid. The little kid part is super small and wouldn't hold the attention of any small kid for more than 1/2 hour. Some of the older kid attractions I didn't see a single kid on it the whole time we were there! My kids did love the building blocks part, but I can see if it was crowded it could be problematic. There is also no place for adults to sit, I get it you want us to be near our kids..but all it did was make the adults sit on the floor! We might give it another chance if we go with friends, but we won't go back just us!

I am writing with some concerns about the way my family was treated by your staff on Saturday morning at the Alexandria location. First, let me share that my wife and I discovered Scramble at Christmastime, and have now been several times to both the Alexandria and Falls Church locations. I felt we had discovered a true gem - a place where we could retreat with our now two-year-old for a morning or afternoon of fun. The whole environment is designed for fun, and I appreciated how inclusive things felt, as we interacted with your staff and strangers with smiles all around. But our visit on Saturday left us feeling unwelcome, embarrassed, and like second-class citizens. We visited the Falls Church location a few weeks ago and asked about birthday options outside of hosting a party, because we envisioned a very small gathering. The staff member there explained that if you do not book the birthday package, you cannot bring in outside cake or balloons and that we would only be able to purchase food from you all. Got it - all good! We invited two friends and their little ones to gather with us on Saturday morning, we paid the entry fees for everyone who joined, and we ordered a few pizzas to enjoy while our little ones ran around. We were first approached by your staff member, Cora, shortly after receiving our food. She came to our table and told us to move the two tables that we had pulled together apart. Her approach was curt - she didn't start by explaining any rationale for what the issue was - she simply gave us the directive. I asked her if she was serious because of the tone - I was honestly surprised - and then she explained that it was a fire hazard. So we moved the tables apart and returned to our fun. About twenty minutes later, while we were all away from the tables where our belongings were sitting, Cora approached again. This time, she snatched a gift bag while my wife was nearby. She told my wife that gifts were not allowed, and proceeded to move it outside of the play area. I intervened to ask her what the issue was, and she explained that we could not have a gift without having a party. I then went to the front desk and spoke with her and the party manager for a while to ask what the issue was and to share that I felt like we were being targeted because we had two separate interactions, and none of this was explained when we checked into the venue. We are not rule-breakers. I am fastidious in honoring the rules of any space I enter. My wife jokes about me being too straight-laced. I understand that Scramble has rules, and have no desire to work around them. I believe that this interaction could have been resolved through a simple dialogue where a member of your staff could have politely shared the policy and asked us to make a shift. Instead, we felt like delinquent teenagers, and the experience was deeply embarrassing and off-putting. Our guests, visiting for the first time after our rave reviews, wondered what the issue was. After Cora removed the gift bag without approaching us to explain things, I felt unwelcome and uneasy about even staying. I felt the message she sent to us was that we were second-class citizens that day - those deserving of respect at your establishment are those who pay a premium for expanded services. And I could not help but wonder if the interactions would be different if half of us were not people of color. I am not sharing this because I seek retribution against Cora. I share this instead, hoping that your establishment can be more considerate of your guests. You say that your mission is to "provide extraordinary play for all children"; I hope you will consider that the environment you create for families has an impact on your ability to attain that mission.

I booked the colossal 5:45 PM-7:45 PM on January 31,2026 time slot and paid with the expectation of having the FULL HOUR to celebrate. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the previous party was still in the room, and it was not ready for us. We were unable to enter until approximately 7:05-7:10 PM. At that point, the room still needed to be cleaned and decorated, and no children were allowed inside until everything was completed. Food was served around 7:15 7:20PM, and shortly after around 7:29 PM we were asked to if we wanted to do the dance party again since they went and done it already while i was inside the room decorating and settling the party favors, while the children had just started eating. We were then informed that we needed to leave by 7:55 PM because the facility closed at 8:00 PM. As a result, we had less than one hour to actually celebrate, which is not what I paid for or expected. Everything felt rushed, and we lost a significant amount of our scheduled time due to circumstances beyond our control. While I appreciate the offer of a free pass on another day, I do not feel this adequately addresses the situation. The experience and time lost during my daughter's birthday cannot be replaced. I believe this matter deserves further consideration, and I respectfully request fair compensation for the time and value that were not provided as agreed. Most importantly, my daughter was very disappointed, as she did not get to fully enjoy her special day due to the limited time. Never again will I book and reserve a birthday party here for any of my children.

We went there during a recent heat wave, and it was such a relief to have a place to play with air conditioning (and that wasn't tearing up our own home). There are lots of big soft blocks to stack, ball pits, and cute themed play areas. But it's definitely for younger kids. Tweens and up probably wouldn't be interested. The cons: Supervision is minimal and some kids get very rowdy. Rules seem to be enforced in a haphazard way. I've seen kids standing on the windowsills and banging on the glass, stacking toys to dive onto the ground, and piling four at a time onto the slides. You should keep an eye on the toddler crowd to make sure that older kids aren't shoving them. Lots of parents grab a drink or food to relax while their kids run wild. The staff were not cleaning at all. You have to remove your shoes before entering the play area but the toilets are located inside the play designated area which means you have to go into the bathroom with socks on which is very gross. They should allow shoes in the bathroom area. Also the soap dispensers were empty and the lady that cleans the bathroom just hung out in the bathroom not really cleaning or filling the soap. The cafe - there are food options for kids and adults. We did try the kids pizza and French fries. The pizza was fine( cheese) but the fries were not good. It tasted like they fried it in very old oil. They do have coffee but I did not try it as the didn't have an option for skim milk. They do not allow outside food or drink but no one seems to really monitor that. Security - ok so this is non-existent. There is a door that divides outside area with inside play area but kids can easily open the door and leave the premises. The lady that stands by the door doesn't monitor kids matches with their guardians. She just opens and closes the door and often she is not there at all. They do not give wristbands at all or any form of security feature. So watch your kids closely while you are there as once they go into that massive play area it's difficult to locate them. The kids seemed to enjoy it as they don't worry about germs , dirt or food. I mean it's fine for an hour or so but honestly it was the last resort when deciding on a place to take the kids too. They also charge the adults an entry fee!!! ‍ I mean it's not like we are playing in the kids areas . I think we paid $55 for entry (2 kids and 2 adults). Would I go back? Not by choice but if the kids asked then I would consider it for an hour or two. ( definitely not on a weekend though).

The parking is plenty but always filled - they did expand a bit into the gravel for more slots. A lot of people come to play competitive volleyball and indoor soccer leagues. They have pretty consistent competition + level of play. But the facility itself could definitely use some work. For starters, the indoors aren't ventilated that well; it can get super hot and muggy in the summer and pretty cold in the winter. The ceilings are only high in the middle courts for volleyball and is a bit short of a court so not much room to maneuver well. There is also a ledge along the side to put your stuff - but it will definitely be hit by balls here and there. I believe years ago you had to make an ID card which now run for about $5 a piece to play - but I haven't had any referees asking for those yet. The referees also just stand on the ground and rarely call for doubles/net :( hopefully some changes will be made for a fair judging system! Upon entering the facility, I was told to give the check to someone in a side office (presumably the manager) who greeted me with a "I don't want to see you!" when I said I was interested in entering a new team. However, we still registered for several seasons as the Sportsplex was conveniently located for our players who at the time were coming in from Nova, Maryland, and DC. The longer our team played at the Sportsplex, the worse our officiating got. In the beginning, we had some decent officials who knew the game and made fair calls. Toward the end of our time, we were getting officials who had no clue about lifts, number of hits, proper hand signals, etc. Officials also let players pretty much run into the court to serve instead of calling feet going over the line. We also had a few officials who were just plain rude, and certain ones who would arrive very late which would cut into our playing time that we had paid for, but made sure our game ended on time. If you enter a team, please also be aware that there are no rosters, so some people sub all night and play across all divisions. We were in a mid-level division, but would often face teams who had upper level players, and strangely enough this tended to happen when the games mattered for a playoff spot. The Sportsplex was also very dirty when we played there. If you dive for a ball, expect to get up covered in grit. There is no air conditioning in the summer, and during the winter certain spots on the court are like being under a heat lamp. The overhead nets over the volleyball court are also annoying. We ended up moving our team to a league in the western part of the county and are much happier with the league, officials, and facilities there.
