The vibe is vintage, the tables and chairs are straight out of another era, and the coffee tastes like every diner coffee in America, simple, comforting, familiar.
The donuts are good. Fair price, fresh, exactly what they should be. But I came to test the other half of the name, the "burgers", only to find out they don't sell burgers at all. So breakfast it is.
I ordered the Number 2: eggs, hash browns, sausage, biscuits and gravy. The hash browns were more mashed potatoes than crisp, soft, mushy, barely holding shape. I asked for sunny side up; I got well‑done. The sausage patty tasted store‑bought, nothing special. The biscuits and gravy were the best part, soft, flaky biscuit, flavorful gravy, though the presentation was odd: biscuit on the plate, gravy in a Styrofoam bowl, forcing me to dunk it like a science experiment.
The menu is small, outdated, and missing items. I tried ordering chicken fried steak, unavailable. Maybe for the day, maybe forever. Hard to tell. They also sell boba and trays of Asian food, which makes the identity of the place even more confusing.
This shop shines where it always has: donuts and coffee. But the breakfast feels like an afterthought, nostalgic, yes, but stuck in time. Vintage is fine. Tradition is fine. But menus need updating, and breakfast needs more care.
Come for the donuts. Come for the coffee.
For breakfast? Not so much.
