Once again, Scottco Plumbing came to our rescue. We live in an older home with 80-year-old pipes. When our bathroom sink was running slow, we were hesitant to have it augured out as we were afraid the pipe would be damaged. That is what happened when another company tried to clear the bathtub drain. We ended up with a hole in the pipe and had to have it replaced. Having had great success with other jobs that Scottco did for us, we decided to have him work on the sink drain and thankfully he was able to clear the drain without any damage to the pipe. Scott was amazing. At 11 pm our basement toilet and shower started overflowing with sewage. We sent Scott an email, and he responded the next morning (We purposefully didn't call for something emergent). 30 minutes later he was at our house helping us out. He found a buried, uncapped outdoor sewer access point that had been missed by MULTIPLE sewer inspectors, and saved us a bunch of money. The prognosis still wasn't good, but he was fast, thorough, and very fairly priced (without any upsell). His company is pretty booked for the repair for we need, but he recommended other local companies and told us about some city programs that could help. We chatted with him for a bit and he clearly cares about helping people out in the neighborhood and not taking advantage of anyone. We will definitely use him again. read more

My toilet and shower backed up in the house I just bought, and I started googling different plumbing companies and looking at rates and ratings at 10pm. I stumbled on an older Reddit forum about plumbers in Tacoma and in the end, the person who asked about plumbers went with ScottCo and couldn't recommend them enough. So I called early the next morning about 6:30-7am and Scott, the owner answered right away. His rate of $500 for a clogged pipe under the house seemed reasonable and he was at the house within 2 hours. He didn't charge extra when my toilet needed to be taken apart, he simply pulled new parts out of his van and replaced the bits, put it back together and went under the house and took out the clog with his high pressure water system. He didn't try to charge extra or upsell me in anyway. He was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Probably the best experience with a plumber ever. read more

The plumbing in my home backed up when I did laundry the night before. Scottco Plumbing sent Dean and Victor to help get my drains flowing the next day. They were incredibly thorough and made sure the pipes were clean in all directions and working properly. They camera scoped my lines so I was able to see the before and after of their work. I will never use another plumber, as long as Scott is saving the day in Tacoma. We've used Scott twice -- once to troubleshoot a clogged drain and most recently to replace a filing water heater. Both times Scott showed up within an hour or so, discovered the problem, gave me a quote, and returned the following day to fix the issue. It is clear that Scott cares deeply about the quality of work he does and prides himself in doing so expediently and inexpensively. I've never once felt like I was being taken advantage of or upsold. He is always cautious about the door, knowing I have indoor cats. He's never made me feel uncomfortable. Scott shoots straight and his work is without flaw. We had Scott come out on a Saturday afternoon to clear a severely plugged shower drain. I tried several of the usual things but it was too plugged. Scott came out on short notice and tried to clear it with a small drain snake but it was to clogged. He brought in his heavy duty snake and after a lot of work he got the clog free. I made the mistake of calling Roto Rooter to fix the leak under my sink. Nice man shows up and wants to charge me 950 dollars for the ten minute job. I told him that sounded a tad excessive. Scottco was called to come check out the work of another plumber that I just couldn't trust anymore. He showed up within 5 minutes of my call and troubleshooted with my husband to get the water flowing in our bathroom. The other company wanted to charge an additional $900 to "maybe" fix the problem in our old home. Our water pressure is better than it was before the shotty work of the original plumber. He didn't even charge us. I'm beyond grateful for his responsiveness and professionalism. We will be using Scottco to re-pipe our 100 year old house to get rid of galvanized steel plumbing. Called this company to follow up on my employee's (my manager, to be specific) previous call to them, asking to get out to address a problem we have been having with our tankless water heater and a drain clog. I called because my manager wasn't given certainty as to WHEN he would be coming out and to emphasize the emergency nature of our restaurant's situation and the urgent need to get somebody out ASAP. I didn't even get to complete my explanation as to who I was. He interrupted when I stated the name of our business and he said, "Your gal already called and I told her that I would maybe try to come out sometime today or tomorrow. Okay? Thanks." And, unbelievably, he then simply hung up on me. Now, reading other reviews from people who have had similar experiences, I see that hanging up on people is pretty much the "norm" for Scottco. We were contacting Scottco because we had their sticker on our unit (which is being removed today). I immediately got on the phone with someone else and got on their schedule. Here's what I then texted to the person who hung up on me (who I can only assume is the owner of the company): "Hi. This is ***, the general manager at *********, the guy you hung up on 20 minutes ago. We are now on the schedule of one of your competitors. They are coming at a definite time, not sometime today or tomorrow." I told FlowHawks that if something opened up prior to the scheduled time, please come on out, and they did. They came two hours early, much to our extreme appreciation. By the way, I got no response at all from Scottco following my text to inform him we found somebody else willing to actually schedule their services. Scottco: don't promote your business as reliable. He's done work here before, and was really great this time because he honestly said appliances are outside his purview, but that we would send someone out with the disclaimer that it would be expensive. Scott fixed a hot water line that sprung leaks behind my water heater a couple months ago. He came right away and fixed the issue quickly. Because I had issues related to the water leaking for a couple days, Scott couldn't just move my hot water heater back into position and be done with it. So, he hooked it up and moved it off to the side and promised to come back after all my repairs were finished to move the heater back into position and strap it down at no extra charge. True to his word, he just came back and finished it after all my repairs were over. His rates were very reasonable--like kind of shockingly reasonable given the rates everyone else charges in Western Washington. I did read some negative reviews prior to calling Scott, but that wasn't my experience at all, and as he explained, he likes to communicate over the phone, not by text. He is very reachable that way, and if a good plumber who doesn't charge an arm and a leg prefers a little flexibility on my part, I'll happily accommodate him. I'll definitely call him again if I ever have any plumbing needs, which hopefully won't be any time soon. read more

Wow! See below for previous review. I had a water heater die over the weekend. Scott came out Sunday night right after I called him and had it replaced by the time I got home from work on Monday. Scott really is incredible! Last night I got home and my toilet started overflowing with raw sewage water. There was about in inch and a half of water in my bathroom. My landlord wasn't picking up the phone and the emergency maintenance line was a bust too. So finally I started looking for emergency plumbers. I got hold of some people basically saying not your house not your problem, talk to your landlords. Not Scott. I got a hold of him at 9:30pm and explained my situation crying and not sounding sane. He calmed me down and told me he would be out soon. He came in 30 minutes!!! Not only did he arrive super fast but he went above and beyond to help us out. If I could give this business 0 stars, I would. They are very unprofessional. I referred them to my brother last week since i have used them before. My brother called for a plumbing issue, they gave him a window and never showed up. Then, my own house had an issue and my landlord scheduled them to come out. They canceled last minute stating that their employee is going home for the day because he has Pneumonia. Fist off, why the hell are you having your employee work if they have Pneumonia??? 2nd, the text they wrote was very unprofessional and they couldn't even spell. Scott did a great, thorough job on our clogged drain problem. He is s good guy who is honest and knows what he's doing. The drain was so clogged with grease he took the hard way and replaced the whole line. I think we paid about a third more for Roto-rooter to come out and unclog the same drain about 5 years ago. Now we've got a solution that will last longer and it cost less. This was a really messy job and he figured out a way to get all the stinky, greasy pipes out for disposal without dragging them through the house. I really appreciated that he spent time and energy to be conscientious about cleanliness. If we had any questions about when he was going to arrive or if he could fit us in on short notice, we just sent him a text and he responded right away. read more
