Chad from Rainier Plumbing & Rooter came out to our home, did the troubleshooting on our AOSmith Hybrid Hotwater Heater, contacter AOSmith and worked with them about repair. The unit was still under warranty, only two years old, so AOSmith decided to replace the unit with a new unit but installation was at our expense. I approved the installation at my expense. The new hybid hot water heater looks great and we're very happy with the installation of the new unit. Rainier, Chad and his assistant, did a wonderful job installing the new unit. It looks exactly like it did before the repair. It looks so nice you can't even tell it was ever replaced. We hired Rainier View Plumbing to do the rough-in for our new build back in 2022. Unfortunately, the initial plumber they sent out was not ready for primetime -- he was rude and directly insulted us in front of other contractors. More importantly, his water lines leaked at 4 locations and other contractors derided his work through the rest of the build. He directly lied to me about code while trying to get out of installing a hose spigot on the far side of my garage -- despite my already having paid a surcharge for it. He branched off one hose line BEFORE the whole home shut-off valve and branched the other off AFTER the water filtration loop. Further, he dropped the waste lines too low into our crawl space, coming in LOWER than the drain line to our septic and failed inspection -- because sewage doesn't flow uphill. After complaining, the owner of the company came onsite -- and let me be clear that he was quite apologetic, professional, and spent the better part of a day correcting the plumbing errors (though it was too late to fix the aforementioned hose line issues). Had he been the last encounter, this would be 4 stars. Unfortunately, the finishing crews walked off with our kitchen faucet (they did eventually return it), installed standard toilets instead of the upgraded versions we had paid for on 3 of 4 baths, and though they offered a refund on the upgrade charges for those 3, they then turned around and billed us a near-equal amount for rough-in work they had done 11 months earlier which involved routing 5' of PEX line for a second showerhead (a total of 5 minutes of work and 50 cents of material somehow produced a $600 bill 11 months later to directly offset the refund for the incorrect toilets). Four months after moving in, water spots showed on our kitchen ceiling below the upstairs shower -- when we pulled the wallboard off the hallway opposite the shower valve, we found that one of the connections had a slow leak. Easily fixed by us, but annoying. Based on the above, we would recommend homeowners go with Bowers -- we used them back when we lived in Puyallup and the experiences were far better. In short, just hire Bowers. read more

We are so glad we called Rainier View Plumbing and Rooter. DJ and Ryan spent 2 days trying to clear our clogged kitchen drain. They took the time to explain the problem by using a camera and gave us options of how to go about fixing it. We had tons of grease blocking and lining the drain. They spent many hours alternating between using the snake and water jet. Once clear, they made sure to check and recheck. These two are the most hard working, thorough and respectful service employees I've hired in a while. The cost was reasonable for the amount of work that it took. My husband wrote a Google review 3 years ago about our tankless heater install by this company he tagged it with "think of the potential"... Oh to think of potential to get railed by a company like we did... Imagine my face when in 3 years I had to shell out over $20k for hot water because we trusted the wrong company. We tried contacting them a couple of times since the tankless system was installed because for 3 years it did not work properly, almost seemingly from the start. The tankless was under a warranty and they wouldn't agree to do any repair work. So when the tankless stopped heating completely I had to call around. 6 plumbing quotes later and 5 different plumbers saying they would not touch the system installed by Rainier unless it was a full reinstall. We ending with having it replaced completely by another company. For another $10k in LESS THAN 5 years! All because we got worked over by a local business. Guess that's what we get for trying to support smaller first. Lesson learned, I'll keep calling the big company if I need more plumbing work done. read more

I received a $200 bill for 15 minutes of work - which is a full hourly charge of $189 + tax. Here's my story. I had an appointment with Rainier View for a one year warranty claim on work they completed while building my home. The appointment was scheduled by (the super friendly) Sherry who was able to schedule around another appointment I had the same day at 10:30. The day of the appointment, I was in the shower when the plumber called to see if I was home as he had an appointment. (it was 7:45 am) I was out of the shower and outside talking to the contractors who were now both there and that I just needed a couple minutes to put the dog away and pick up anything in the bathroom. at 8:02 am I walked outside and contacted the two contractors. I let them know I hadn't been expecting them until 10:30, was apologetic for not having been ready, but was glad they were there early. The plumber began our meeting by telling me it wasn't possible for me to have a specific appointment as they always have a four hour window. I ignored this as it wasn't the point. I kept telling them I was glad they were there. I began to go over quickly what each issue was and showed them to their respective places in my home. I told the plumber that I had been having issues with my master bath not draining correctly and was concerned about construction debris being a culprit. I also mentioned that when I moved in there was a large amount of glue left around the drain which I needed to peel off, and was concerned there might be more in the pipe. He agreed and said construction debris is common, and that the glue is usually supposed to be cleaned up by another person. He would look. I left the bathroom to go in another room and answer some questions of the trim contractor. I went back to check on the plumber a maximum of 5 minutes later. I asked him how it was going. He lifted the toilet lid and pointed to a clump of hair in the toilet which he had pulled from the drain. Then looked at me and said "Its draining fine now" to which I replied "its been draining fine because I just used drano on it for the second time since living here for a year. How could that little amount of hair stop up my drain in such a short period of time to where I'm standing in ankle deep water?" His response "Who told you to use drano?!" I kept telling him there was no way this was the reason for the clog, but he had clearly made up his mind and was not going to do any further assessments. I left the bathroom to go check on the other contractor and while I was talking to him, the plumber left. He was in my home for no more than 15 mins. Because a hair clog is not covered under my warranty, he also sent me a bill for $200. I was not able to choose my plumber, but based on the experience I had with this company I will NEVER use them again. I also need to pay another plumber to come in and check to see if there is construction debris or a belly or some other issue with the drain in my batheoom so that I can have it taken care of if that is an issue. Based on this 10-15 minute experience with this one plumber who charged me for a full hour of work to basically condescend to me that because I have hair, that's the reason my drain is clogged is unprofessional at best. I would hope that I am an exception to this kind of experience with Rainier View, but would proceed with extreme caution if choosing this company. read more

Here is all I can say: $300/hour to work on a jammed garbage disposal they installed in our new house is out of line. I would agree that disposals do jam, but they can also be cleared by hand or with the Allen wrench tool provided if it is not a problem with the product itself -and that is a warranty issue. read more

I purchased my 100yr old home in 2010. One of my purchasing requirements was that the seller replace all galvanized and cast iron drains located in my crawl space. I required they have a licensed, bonded, and insured plumber complete the work and provide me with all of the invoices, in which they did. February 2012, I could hear a leak in my crawl space. After inspecting, I discovered what appeared to be a galvanized pipe that was still installed. I immediately contacted Rainier View and was already anticipating an uphill battle. Plumber Ed came out, inspected, and informed me that it was a "lead" pipe. Although I was upset, I didn't necessarily feel they were responsible as I was very specific in my request (galvenized and cast iron). Ed explained how he felt responsible for missing the lead pipe and that he would speak with the owner and see if they could reduce the repair cost for me. I was very appreciative of this! When DeAnna (receiptionist - very friendly) called to schedule the repairs, she explained that they were going to take care of it for me as a courtesy. I was astounded! Last week I discovered that our water heater was leaking, and water flooded a large area in our garage. I called Ranier View Plumbing and Rooter and spoke with Danielle who took details of the issue and searched for an appointment time. Unfortunately, the earliest available time was three days later. I made the appointment, and Danielle said that she would check throughout the day for cancellations or other opportunities for an earlier time. She called a short time later with news of a cancellation and offered to send someone right away. Joey, the technician, arrived soon after. He quickly diagnosed and explained the problem and the cost to repair (very affordable!). He fixed the leak in less than thirty minutes and even vacuumed up all the water in the garage. I have had the worst plumbing service with Rainier View. Rainier View installed a steaming unit in my attic for my shower. During a winter cold spell last year the steaming unit starting leaking water in the attic and down the walls of my home. I turned off the water running to the unit and called Rainier View. The tech came out and stated that the unit was damaged and would have to be replaced. The tech also stated that when the unit was installed it should have been insulated against the cold temperature. The tech called back to the company and informed the owner of the first installer's mistake. The owner of Rainier View refused to take responsibility. Even though Rainier View installed the unit and their own tech came out and indicated that the unit was installed incorrectly the owner would not replace the unit nor fix the problem. And on top of that, the owner wanted me to pay 150 bucks for the tech coming out to inform me that his company installed the unit incorrectly. What a joke!!!! Stay away from this company.
