Scott is an efficient, honest and conscientious Fix It Guy! He showed up when he said he would, brought the part for our washing machine without even having seen it. Fixed it up in less than 1/2 hour and also fixed the Dryer door and diagnosed our leaking toilet!! In my opinion he should charge more for his work, but I am not complaining! Just give him the big tip he deserves. You gotta call this Guy! He's the ONE! the REAL deal. read more

Ok - the previous reviews say it all...so in summary: prompt in response and appointment times; competent and efficient; straightforward and trustworthy; nice, decent and pleasant to work with; highly recommend. And, to add, for those who 'wonder or are skeptical' about Yelp reviews: I found Scott on Yelp just by searching, read the reviews and trusted they were honest and not 'paid' for...and wasn't asked to write a review! Since me and hubby are totally not 'fix it' people, I'm certain down the road, we will have Scott back to our home as things age... read more

Scott was great. Came out to my house right away to pick up a broken lamp. Fixed it and returned it the next day. Everything worked great, and not expensive either. Would definitely use him again. read more

Scott is great! He was very responsive in his communication and knew just what to do to repair my dryer. He's also just super nice. Thanks for you help, Scott! read more

I highly recommend Scott. He is super sweet and easy to work with. His pricing was very fair. We had our Viking dishwasher replaced with a Thermador and it was such a breeze to work with him. I know...how bad can swapping out a broken dishwasher be...not sure, but with high grade dishwasher it can get pretty messy. So I called Scott. He came out a few days later, took about an hour-n-half to do the swap without an incident...tested and worked perfectly. Best of all, I was able to watch the process with him explaining detail of what was going on with the swap...he was so welling to teach. Thank you for the awesome work...I'm so glad we found you. Till our next break down of some appliance...cheers. read more

Scott is wonderful - highly responsive, skilled, and good value! We've used him for a number of appliances and he's resolved all of them.

great to help small businesses that make the world go around. texted scott and we set an appointment the next morning for my locked washer. on time, opened it and showed me how to repair everything and told me exactly what was wrong and how i could save money if i did it on my own by getting the parts and doing the install. i appreciate him being honest and telling me what i really need, and how i can save money with some simple installation instructions. nice to support honest and hard working people. read more

Based on all of the good reviews, I called Scott to fix our dishwasher leak. A previous reviewer suggested that it's useful to give him the model number in advance, and I was even able to locate the part number that I thought it might need. Scott showed up right on time, with the part in hand, and had the leak fixed within a half an hour. He's very professional and personable, and educated me on ways to keep the dishwasher maintained. He also gave me some tips on our washer and dryer to keep them running longer. I couldn't be happier with him, and feel confident about using him whenever needed! read more

Dishwasher wouldn't drain so my girl emailed Scott. He returned the email promptly (within 24 hrs). An appointment was scheduled for the following day. He showed up at the appointed time. He promptly removed his shoes when he saw all the shoes by the front door. Even after I told him he didn't have to, he insisted. I appreciated that. He completed the repair in a friendly and professional manner. A foreign object in the drain motor was obstructing the impeller. No parts just labor. His fee was reasonable and he offered to show me how to fix it myself if the same thing happens again. Scott is a nice guy and a great repairman. I will not hesitate to call him again if need be. read more

Saved the day for me today with two 30+ year old appliances - my dryer and oven. Clearly knows these machines. Took a very methodical approach to both trouble shooting the issue and making the repair. Very personable, informative, and kind. Will not hesitate to call on him again should the need arise. Highly recommend! read more

Just wanted to give a huge thank you to Scott for helping me to solve a problem remotely. Scott emailed me with very easy instructions on how to fix my Bosch dishwasher that was not draining. I was able to fix the problem within 2 minutes and it works well now. No cost, speedy reply, and great service! read more

Scott was very helpful in helping us troubleshoot our Miele dishwasher problem over the phone; my husband then proceeded to clear the drain and then the dishwasher worked again like a charm at no cost to us. Thanks, Scott, for thanking the time to do this; we greatly appreciate it. read more

Scott emailed me through a couple of things for my ailing oven. He is a miracle worker. He fixed it without ever having to come over to my house! read more

That was awesome! I had a Bosch dishwasher acting up, sometimes losing power. Scott came by right on time an diagnosed the washer and fixed the electrical problem. While he was running it through some cycles to make sure it worked and had to wait, he also checked our gas stove, water heater, washer, and dryer, and cleaned the washer arm of the dishwasher -- super nice!!! Will use again, and can highly recommend. read more

So this review is based on service he didn't do because he never came. I called him several times during the hours listed I never got a call back or response. He emailed me back and forth, made an appointment, and then never showed up. I have no idea where this guy gets good reviews when he can't show up for his appointments. read more

Scott fixed our washer & dryer in our condo rental recently. He was professional, responsive and affordable. Everything I want in a repair service person. I believe he can fix a variety of applies. I would definitely recommend Scott to anyone who needs appliances fixed! read more

What can you say? A nice guy with great service, who was upfront and honest. He pretty much diagnosed my issue w/ my broken Maytag washer when I told him the symptoms over email, and then came w/ the right parts to fix it. I emailed him on a Tues night, and he was able to accomodate me the very next day at 2pm. He came over and fixed it within an hour for $100. He didn't try to overcharge me in any way. He even explained some things about the machine for maintenance in the future. It would be great if ALL repairmen were so honest and accomodating! Broken appliance? Call Scott! read more

Another glowing review for Scott the fix-it guy. I'm guessing all his good reviews are keeping him busy because he was booked out a week in advance when I first contacted him about a washing machine repair. Nevertheless, I made an appointment for the following Weds. That day Scott showed up exactly one minute early and proceeded to spend almost two hours working on the offending machine. I started to get quite nervous, thinking that I might end up paying hundreds of dollars fixing a crappy washer that we bought used from a now-defunct dealer. When Scott reappeared from the laundry room and said he would have to come back the next day with a new part I almost pulled the plug on the whole thing. With some trepidation, I asked him for an estimate of the cost. He replied that it was going to be $110 or $120, depending on the cost of the part. $120 for that much work? Amazing. Before he could change his mind, I said, "let me cut you a check, right now." He showed up right on time again the next day, and then spent another hour working on the machine. At least I think it was an hour. He slipped out without saying goodbye. Maybe he thought I'd left, but who knows? Washing machine works great, thanks to Scott the stealthy ninja. read more

Scott is a wonderful human and a good repair man. He was able to come out sooner than everyone else I called. Email was the best way to contact and coordinate with him. Very pleasant to talk to and knowledgeable. He was happy to teach me how to do the repair on my dryer in future so I can fix it myself. I highly recommend. read more

Okay, I feel compelled to update everyone on Scott! I called him again because my clothes were getting little holes in them. I couldn't figure out whether it was the washer or dryer? I emailed Scot with my little problem and he promptly responded with, "it's definitely the dryer. I can fix it." Yay! He showed up a day or two later and went to work. Replaced 2 parts and cleaned out the dust and lint in the dryer. I washed and dried my favorite sweater a few times now..no holes!! He fixed it! Very reasonable price as well! Scott is just plain good!! Don't waste money with expensive repair guys from Sears etc..really call Scott. He even offered to come back and fix it for free if it didn't work. Thanks Scott...you are awesome. I am back to washing and folding my favorite clothes not throwing them away! read more

I bought a house a year ago in Oakland, the electric dryer that came with the house stopped working inexplicably a couple of months ago. Not wanting to buy a new electric dryer since I prefer gas dryers and would have to remodel to make that work, I called Scott to see if he could fix it as a short term solution. What can I say, he was fast, affordable, knowledgeable, and has a sense of humor. Dryer is now working, my electric bill is about to go up again, and it is all thanks to The Fix It Guy. Did I mention he's tall? Yes, really rather tall from my 5 foot something perspective. But hey, if he's willing to bump head and elbows doing such a good job, who am to be critical. Call Him! read more

We loved Scott the Fix It Guy! Our dryer was wonky, too hot, so we called him on Saturday, he said he could come on Monday. Exactly, precisely at 9:30 AM he was on our doorstep as promised (when is the last time a repair person was exactly on time). He already had an idea of what the problem was, so came prepared with a part. Fixed the dryer in an hour (he charges $95/hour), and we're all set. He was friendly and professional, and I especially liked that he took pictures of his work with his phone, then showed me exactly what he fixed. Gives me confidence in his work. Next time something goes wrong with a major appliance, we'll be calling Scott. read more

Excellent service. Our dishwasher wasn't draining properly and Scott fixed it in 30 seconds and gave me tips on how to do it myself next time. I wish everything was so easy! read more

My off button on my oven would not turn off unless I flipped the circuit breaker---which is not sustainable. I found Scott initially unresponsive. I called 3x and emailed 1x over a few days before I heard anything back. If it wasn't for the stellar reviews and the fact I got a quote from The Appliance Repair Doctor saying it would cost 509 (289 for the control system and 220 for the install and rewire) to replace the control system on my oven I would have given up. Eventually he wrote back and told me that the thing they said would cost 509 would be $95 for labor and $58.40 for the part. I was thrilled. I can deal with delayed email responses for a savings like this...plus I like the idea of supporting a little guy. Well after I received the part he told me I needed from the link he gave me I was very disappointed to see it was the front piece for the oven drawer not the control panel at all. I emailed him and he said: "So sorry for the wrong part. Here is the correct part from the same company I hope that they will allow for an exchange." and gave me the new link. No an ideal response since I too HOPE they will return the part and figure it will cost me $20 to return this giant thing that he specifically told me to order. I'm forgiving because I'm still saving money compared to the other guy. I spent 25 minutes with the phone rep for the website working out the return and ordering the new part---and after some time the phone rep told me the new part he told me to order was ALSO WRONG. Ok, that's too much. I like to save money but not at the expense of more work and stress. Plus now you wasted my time AND were wrong two times. P.S. The conclusion to the story is I opened up the back of the stove to make sure I was ordering the right part because at this point I'm paranoid. While I'm back there I see the control panel is crooked and as soon as I straighten it and re-adhesive it everything works. This part I can't blame on Scott since he never came to my house but I do blame The Appliance Repair Doctor. But I do blame Scott for wasting my time, being initially very slow to respond, and being wrong twice. Being cheap isn't enough. read more

Simply wonderful. Scott came by and replaced the gaskets on my refrigerator. He did an excellent job and was a pleasure to deal with. I would not hesitate to hire him again. read more

Efficient, knowledgeable, full of DIY and prevention tips. Will definitely be my first call.

Our Kenmore dryer failed on a Thursday afternoon - with 3 kids and constant rain, that counts as a household crisis! Sears repair service took forever to reach and then told us the earliest they could come was 5 days later. Luckily I found Scott on Yelp, and he was responsive, straightforward, and helpful. He came on a Saturday afternoon and we had a working dryer an hour later, for a very reasonable labor cost, along with great free advice about how to keep it working. Couldn't ask for more. Thanks to Scott and Yelp! read more

Scott is the last honest repairman. Sure, he's everything you'd expect: on-time, knowledgeable, and skilled. What's great about Scott though is that, while he bills for an hour, if it's a quick job, he'll fill the hour by helping with other appliance repair jobs around your house so you get your money's worth. read more

Scott replaced the belt in our dryer and rescued a dollar bill that was stuck in the fan, our dryer now works like new (even though I suspect it was made in the late seventies). My washer went up in smoke one day, literally. I called Scott and he said it was probably the fan belt, PHEW! He can to take a look and it turned out the water pump had died and also taken out the pulley and belt. When Scott wasn't able to find just the pulley, he suggested places we could get it so we didn't have to pay for a new motor. We got the $10 part instead of the $200 motor based on his advice. He came back as soon as we received the part and fixed that baby right up. This man is wonderful, courteous, professional and honest. I will be calling him back for any repairs I have! read more

I called half a dozen appliance repair shops only to get shut down one by one because none of them work on LG washing machines. I called Scott. His voicemail message says he's best reached my email so I halfheartedly wrote him explaining my problem. Not only did he email me back promptly he helped me trouble shoot. For about an hour we exchanged emails back and forth while I followed his trouble shooting instructions and after it was all said and done he properly assessed the problem. He was able to come over a few days later and showed up right on time as we agreed. His clean, professional appearance was surprising and refreshing. He was very kind and easy going. He had the machine up and running in less than an hour. The price I payed was $100 less than it would have cost for an LG technician to come out. Call Scott. You'll be glad you did. read more

Scott was great. I had him over to fix my dishwasher (it wouldn't close properly, and thus wouldn't run). He fixed that quickly. He also happened to notice that the light in our fridge wasn't working. There was an issue with it and I hadn't had a light in it since I had moved in years ago. He quickly fixed that, too! He charged one low price for the two jobs. He was prompt, personable and reasonably priced. read more

Scott arrived promptly and fixed my dishwasher pronto! He is very professional and knowledgeable. He also cleaned out my dryer vent which had about 10-15 years worth of lint in it at no extra charge! I would highly recommend him for any appliance repair or install. I plan on recommending him to all my family and friends. read more

Scott returned our dryer to the land of the living in about an hour. Super friendly guy, arrived on time w/ tools in hand, he worked fast and systematically. The problem with our dryer, taking too long to dry clothes, it turned out, was that caused by the failure of one of the inner thermostats (the one attached to the exhaust). Scott actually had the replacement part we need with him, a true professional! Seven months later dryer is still working great. I really appreciated his preparedness and professionalism, so rare in the bay area today. Thanks again Scott! read more

I had a problem with the knob on my dryer. Scott figured out the problem and part over the phone and we scheduled an appointment. When he came over to do the repair he was finished within a half hour! Very friendly and also explains what's going on. He even gave us some advice about our old dishwasher. I will definitely call again when something else goes wrong! read more

Our Miele dishwasher wasn't working and was leaking water. Many appliance repair companies won't touch Miele machines because they are too complicated. Scott had no such problem. He was very meticulous and made several repairs. Now the machine runs like new. While Scott was at our house, we also had him look at our Kenmore dryer, which was working, but not very efficiently. We had to run the dryer at higher temperatures and for longer than the programs suggested. Scott cleared out lint from a number of different places, and the dryer is now working great. Scott's rates were very reasonable. We basically got two repairs for the price of one -- much less if we had had to call a Miele technician. We will definitely use Scott again for appliance repairs! read more
