If ever you need phone or computer help - go here first. These guys will not rip you off and seriously know what they are doing. I didn't have anything very complex to fix, just a laptop that died on me and I needed a diagnosis that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I wanted to erase the hard drive before recycling it because I was pretty sure it was not worth trying to repair it. I'd researched the common problems with my particular model of Acer Aspire (overheating) and wasn't sure if it was worth trying to replace parts (only to not have them work). At first Matthew thought he could salvage the machine but the same problem of overheating kept happening while he was working on it. So he informed me it wasn't worth it, and just got my data, music, photos, and downloads off the hard drive (for which I paid $50). If he were able to repair the machine, he said it would've cost me $160. I trust these guys. Matthew is a genius. Service is so fast and so professional. They also have great deals on refurbs, ie: Mac desktop for $380 (wowza), Sony Vaio for $500, etc. read more

My laptop screen was cracked and they replaced it for $165 (plus tax) all in one day. He was super nice about everything and talked to me about everything under the sun regarding IT. Not there for your money, but to help solve your computer problems. My desktop suddenly shut down and I thought it was the motherboard but here it was the power. The people at scorpion computers only charge me under 100.00 dollars plus couple months of warranty on the part. They did an excellent job of explaining the issue land resolving the issue in a timely matter. I also bought a refribuished laptop off of them at a reasonable price of 250.00 and 2 months warranty. The laptop works perfectly never since I got the laptop. I highly recommend this place over geek squad and apple genius for repairs of PC/macs because they proved excellent customer service and repairs at a good price instead of best buy and apple secondary stores like springboard has to offer. read more

I needed repairs on an Acer laptop. Scorpion was unable to find the correct replacement part. I picked up my computer on Monday but they could not find my charger/adapter at the time. I was told that another person knew where it was and that they would deliver it to my place of residence, which is within walking distance of the business, later in the day. Today is Wednesday and I still don't have the charger. They are closed today so I can't get an adapter from them. I leave for home (In Europe) tomorrow morning with a computer that I can't use unless I buy an adapter myself. Not very happy about this. read more

Very very VERY unreliable. Strangely and confusingly unreliable and unresponsive... and I've noticed in the others have experienced the same thing in their google reviews.. So I called them to see if I could bring in my Macbook pro for a battery replacement. In very clear wording I was told to bring in my laptop the following Monday. I called beforehand to let them know I would bring it in, rang about 8 times but no pick up. I call a few more times, still, no one answers. I figure they're busy so I just come since I was told before over the phone to come on Monday. I get there no one opens the door. I call them again... this time after every call I get hung up on after 2-3 rings. Seems like they're there but just don't want to open the door or answer my calls. I even call the next day, and still no response. Why are you running a business like this? Do you not want my money? Either way, I'm gladly spending my money elsewhere. SERIOUSLY do not waste your time coming here. If a business can't even professionally handle a simple phone call or call you back, the last thing I would want is to let them service my electronics. There are many better repair places in the city- and ones who actually value their customers at that. read more

I took my pc to scorpion. It had a bad hard drive and i couldnt get any of my photos. Voytek and the guys were able to get all of my pictures back and restore my pc. These guys are awesome! read more

They really didn't have to hang up on me. I wasn't being rude or anything. They couldn't find any parts after less than a minute of searching, and I assume that after he realized that my call wasn't profitable, he thought it would be acceptable to hang up when I was mid-sentence. I was able to get the part directly from Dell, so now I'll have someone else repair it -and any future devices that need repairs. read more

Originally, I was looking for a reputable computer service to purchase a refurbished Apple computer. An hour's research online showed me I wanted to stay as far away as possible from the 'geniuses' at the Apple Store. Scorpion Computers received so many excellent reviews on Yelp I decided to try them. The reviews were correct, based on my experience, in that they revealed an expert shop with techs willing to provide excellent customer service with honesty. It is evident to me from the way they are replying to the complaints that they are not disreputable. Ultimately, the refurbished un-Apple laptop they sold me was a disappointment, but not because of anything they did wrong. Rather, it was due to my lack of product knowledge and limited funds. So I returned it to them and made them promise me that they would donate it to a school or charity. When I bought a new laptop online for a better deal than they could offer me, the trust I have for their ethical business practices led me back to their shop for any subsequent servicing and repair despite my warranty. One of the perks of doing business with them is being in Port Richmond where some of the best Polish food is available either in a restaurant setting or deli. read more

These guys are the best computer repair shop in Philly, hands down. I've gone to them for 4 seperate repairs now and always received excellent service at a great price. Apple wanted over a thousand dollars to fix a broken Macbook Pro screen and other repair stores gave me quotes of at least $500. Luckily I found Scorpion Computers, and they were able to replace it for $300 total. Wojtek really knows his stuff and always gave me a completely honest and accurate assesment of what he needs to fix and why, how long it would take, and how much it would cost. He goes the extra mile to ensure your computer is delivered as close to brand new as humanely possible. I originally wanted to try doing a repair on my Asus laptop's power jack myself only to realize that I was in way over my head. I dropped my laptop off at Scorpion Computers and let them order the correct parts and do the complex disassembly and installation. Wojtek explained that loose solder connections were a common issue with those models and to avoid using third-party universal power adapters in the future, which may have contributed to the problem. I'll be returning to Scorpion soon to fix my HTC Smartphone (I'm a little clumsy with technology). I couldn't be happier with the service I've received so far. I wouldn't be surprised if they open up another shop in Center City soon to expand their business. Simply put, if you need a repair done in Philly, you need to go to Scorpion Computers. These guys were able to fix my Macbook Pro after it was water damaged. I always buy Apple Care, but Apple Care doesn't cover water damage, and since my warranty would have already been voided by the spill, I decided to give Scorpion a try. Initially, Apple quoted me $900 to fix the laptop, about 1/2 what it cost new 10 months earlier. This $900 repair would include replacing the motherboard. Wojtek gave me a range of prices over the phone but none came close to $900. I left my laptop at Scorpion for a day, and received a phone call that a disassembly and cleaning had been enough to fix the issue. Scorpion charged me less than $200, and I was happy to pay; they also said they'd warranty the repair for 6 months and that any future service would have the amount I'd already paid deducted from the bill. Water damage can be a tricky thing, and a few days later my computer started acting up again. I returned to Scorpion, and they were able to fix the new issue at no extra charge, within 2 days. I waited a month to write this review as I wanted to be certain I had no other issues, however if I do I'm fairly certain that the guys at Scorpion will continue to stand behind their work. read more
