Great interaction with Bundy. Thanks Michael for detecting the problem, solving it and retaining the data on the MacBook Air. The MacBook was ready for pickup 3 days after we agreed to repair it. This was after the Genius Bar at the Apple Store said we'd need to replace the hard drive and would need to separately recover any data that wasn't already backed up. Of course, they recommended purchase of a new MacBook. Well, Bundy diagnosed that we needed to replace the logic board and could retain all the data. They also offered to help with data recovery if we didn't want to replace the logic board. A good experience. read more

I went to Bundy in late December 2016 to get the battery to my 2011 MacBook Pro replaced because Apple no longer carried replacement batteries for my model. I opted to go to an Apple authorize third-party retailer because I thought that the quality of their products would be more assured than buying a battery online and replacing it myself. I was hoping that a new battery with a full charge would last 3-4 hours, at the very least 2 hours. Even my old battery, albeit dead now, could last for almost 2 hours on a full charge. I got worried that only 2 months in, my battery barely crossed the 1-hour mark. At that time, I called Bundy to ask if this was typical of new batteries. They assured me that typical battery life would be around 1 hour. I thought that was odd...and now barely 1.5 years later, my battery life is barely 10 minutes and is already considered a "service battery" as its current health condition and its cycle count is almost 300! (Usually Mac batteries decrease to 80% capacity after 1000 life cycles.) Now, I always have to carry my charger around; otherwise, I can't get anything done. Moral of the story, $140 out, maybe I should have either gotten a cheaper battery online and replaced it myself (probably would have a better battery life) or bought a new MacBook since I already spent more than 10% on a not-so-helpful new battery. Although the service at Bundy was friendly and expedient, I would give second thoughts about investing in their merchandise. read more

My Mac crashed, and apple was unable to help after having it through a weekend. I was rushed and in a panic for having possibly lost very important work material. Bundy fixed it in 1 day! They offered me an expedience cost which would jump me to the front of the line of repairs, and my issue was resolved as if it never existed. Um ... Hi, Bundy. You still have my external hard drive. It was dropped it off three weeks ago. It took you a week to call and tell me the hard drive wasn't readable by your computer(s). I decided to tell you to go ahead with a restore or whatever it is you need to do to pull the files from the drive (if possible). It has now been two more weeks and my phone is not ringing with news of Greenie's rebirth. Bundy tech nerds, where are you? Is my little green external drive less important than the fancy Macs you might be fixing? Or are you always this slow getting back to people about repairs? I can't speak for the hardware or service departments, but i just called in a few times to make sure I could get the right windows software to install on my macbook pro (being a tech-tard) and they were so great on the phone. I called a few places and even checked online, and Bundy's was equal pricing with what I could find on Amazon, and was a full $40 cheaper than my school computer store, with a student discount! On that alone, i'd give them 4 stars. When I got there, they asked me what requirements I needed (for the bar exam) and said they wanted to be sure they could tell other people who had been calling and asking the right thing. They were on point, super nice, and even walked me through how to self-install the software (again, I'm a tech-tard). They said I should have no problems doing it myself, but if i did have an issue, that they could help me with it if i came in again. Five stars: saved myself $40 on the software AND learned how to do it myself. In and out, software purchased, in less than 7 minutes. read more

Under normal circumstances I would have given four stars, but dang there be a lot of haters. I am amused that the reviewer who predicted this business's demise wrote that in 2007. Also, typewriters are awesome. So the decor sucks. And the employees are a bit socially awkward. But the service is an A in my book. I recently shattered the screen of my iPhone 3GS when it fell facedown on concrete, crushed under three hardcover library books. Bundy Computer replaced it in under a day for $100. Sadly, I did have to go back three weeks later because there was a loose connection that was causing the screen to be intermittently unresponsive. So that was a little annoying BUT they happily fixed it while I waited and were very insistent that if I had any further problems, they would replace the entire digitizer again. So I am happy. I hope that Bundy is still in business the day that I can finally buy a 27" iMac. Support the little guy! read more

I have purchased computers and had them repaired by Bundy and I've had nothing but good results with them. They've always been helpful.

Bundy offers absolutely nothing you cannot get for the same price, or cheaper, elsewhere. Their return and exchange policy is stated as such on their receipt: "Bundy does not accept the return of any product once it has been opened from it's original packaging; absolutely no returns on any open computer, printer, iPod, software, ink or toner. Any product found to be defective will be covered under the term of your product's warranty by the manufacturer." So basically, if you buy it from Bundy's and open it and it isn't working properly, you go to the manufacturer for repairs, and you have absolutely no option for a full refund. If you bring it in because it isn't working and ask for an exchange, and they find that the problem is a manufacturing defect, they will NOT exchange for you; you MUST deal with the manufacturer (which is usually hell.) So really, cut out the middleman by not going to Bundy. read more

I didn't buy anything here but I'm in love with the service and the friendly employees. I spilled water on my MacBook today and brought it in to ask for a consultation. I asked for a pentalobe screwdriver so I could take it apart on my own, and the employee gave it to me for free and gave me some helpful advice. I've been in here to look around, us writers often revisit the typewriter era, which forced writers to be much better than the state of the union today. In my fantasy world, I A: never have to dye my roots again B: can subsist entirely on chicken mcnuggets and C: own the latest, smallest, fastest MacBook. My life is the OPPOSITE of all of these things. And that is OK. Until my Toshiba starts to get temperamental. In the past, I have turned to TriState tech Solutions on 22nd and Sansom for service - I like and trust the guy there, and bought a new power cord the last time I needed help. I went in last week just to ask him if he had any ideas once I described my issue, which was: Laptop plugged in, NOT charging, battery at 0% power, running on electricity. I figured the age of my laptop and of the battery finally caught up, and since my cord was relatively new, I would need a new battery. The guy at TriState told me I should lug the computer on down so he could troubleshoot and assess. In the meantime, I was mulling over the pros and cons of $80-100 for a new battery vs. a brand new, cheapy PC. But this morning - Nothing. Plugged in or not, Mr. Toshiba was NOT having it. I wrapped him up and took him down to Tri-Tech at 11 am. The sign said they open at 10 am weekdays, but no one was there. I saw a kid walking up with a computer-ish looking box, thinking MAYBE he was coming to the same place for the same reason. I assaulted him. "Where are YOU going?" I asked, trying to sound non-threatening. "I'm from Springboard - I'm dropping off a printer to a client" he explained. I giggled and told him MY quest and dismay at the locked door. I asked him about Bundy. "I know they service Macs AND PCs, so try that." I thanked him and rode a few blocks to Bundy. Now, we have all become so dependent on cell phones and computers that when any snag happens we are immediately thrown into a frenzied "oh god - my LIFE is in there!" mentality. It's shameful, yes... But I was trying not to panic, as I don't really have a "computer fund" lying around. I inhaled deeply and walked into Bundy, hoping someone would be able to alleviate my worries. But my lightheatred banter was met with blank staring/social awkwardness. "can I help you?" "I hope so - but we're going to figure it out together...my little guy is sad and doesn't want to work." (I tell of problem in detail) "doesn't sound like the battery...sounds like an internal problem..." "the lack of confidence in your tone is not reassuring." "well, I dunno what the problem is...we'd have to open it and see..." "you really think it's NOT the battery? because batteries have lives and they all - " "Lemme try one of OUR cords and test it..." (attempts to turn on - fails) "come on little guy - whassa matter? come on - turn on..." Bundy guy: "well, i can keep it here and run diagnostics...that'll cost $40 and that will be applied to any repairs that are done." Me, balking and pondering mounting costs..."How long would that take?" "we can have it figured out by Monday - " "OR I could just go get a new cheapy one..." I asked him what they had there as far as PCs - they had one, an Acer, but the rest Macs. (sigh) I picked his brain about where I should go to get a computer, the advantages/disadvantages of Notebooks, and the more I asked him, the more he tuned me out and glazed over. His inability to make eye contact was indicative of his customer service. I left there dejected, gutted, and sad at having to make a harried, unexpected purchase in between my work shifts. Thanks a million to fellow Yelper Blake, who answered my bat signal with the quickness and scooped me up to drive down to Best Buy...where in less than 2 minutes the Geek Squad had me up and running with (get ready for it....) a new power cord that saved me hundreds of dollars and my pride. $65 later, I am exactly as I was before...and get this - my battery is TOTALLY alive and well. Selina at Best Buy ran the EXACT same test with a cord - but mr. Bundy wanted $40 diagnostic. Nice racket. I'm glad I didn't bite. NO STARS FOR YOU, BUNDY. read more

I went back to Bundy when my iPhone wanted to restore itself to its original settings, but wouldn't. I walked there from my South Philly home, crying. I'm serious. I was having a terrible day. Without a phone. Or the internet to go. You know how many things I saw on my way that I wanted to Twitter about? So many. Instead I just sobbed. I was hoping the dudes at Bundy would save the day. Instead they RUINED IT. They just looked at my phone and were like "yeah, we can't do anything." I took the R5 to Ardmore and went to the Apple store. I don't know what was wrong but all they did was plug the phone into one of their computers and it worked again. I rarely write reviews, but I was so impressed this time that I felt it was the right thing to do for this business. On Friday, April 7, 2017 my much loved and reliable 2008 Apple Mac stopped working. I tried to turn on the computer and I received a white screen that kept flashing. I took it to Apple. They told me my hard drive had died and they no longer made parts for my computer. I bought my Apple Mac in 2008 when back then Apple was first opening stores and they would give teachers discounts and free things. I received a free ipod touch when I bought my MAC along with an educator's discount because my brother was a teacher. Yes, the first generation ipod touch stopped working a long time ago, but my MAC was going on 9 years and it was stil kicking butt. The guy at Apple noticed my horrified face when he told me they didn't make parts for my MAC anymore, so when I asked does anyone else have parts that can be bought he suggested I look on Apple's directory for names of businesses that could service Apple products. After looking at the list, I called Bundy Computers in Philadelphia. So on Friday, April 7, after my trip to Apple, I called and spoke to a Michael at Bundy Computers. I explained everything to him. He told me that a new hard drive could be installed and they could see if recovery could be made. I had a backup drive, so he told me to bring it in. I decided as much as i despised going into Philadelphia, that I would do it to save my MAC. Next day, Saturday, April 8, 2017, my husband and I made the much hated drive into Philadelphia and the even more hated parking"dance". Where one stays in the car while the other rushes into the store. We hate driving into the city and we DESPISE parking in the city. It is extremelly difficult for parking and the city of Philadelphia LOVES TO GIVE PARKING TICKETS OF ALL KINDS even when you have paid the meter. If we can get products, services, anything without going into the city, we opt for it. So we were really desperate. We were met my Stephen who repeated what Michael had said the day before. He told us it would take about 2 to 4 days. On Wednesday we received a phone call that the hard drive was dead. They could replace hard drive with bigger and better one. Also they could recover from the backup drive and put it all back on the new hard drive. $275.35 in total the MAC was ready on Thursday. My husband and I drove into Philadelphia again on Friday afternoon and picked up our MAC. This time Michael was in the store. As I sit here and type and use a computer that I thought had died, the only thing I can say that the work done by the BUNDY people was FABULOUS. My only gripe, is coming to Philadelphia. Michael and Stephen if you read this, you should open a location in New Jersey. Or better yet, move to New Jersey. We love you and have told all our friends about the miracles you work. I sent my device in 2 weeks ago because I was having issues. They gave it back to me two days later and tell me there were software issues. Less than three days later the same issues are happening. Almost 2 weeks and $120.00 later I have not been called with any updates on my laptop. In fact I called Bundy and was told they're running "really long" test to figure out the issue. I need my laptop for work and am very frustrated by the fact they have kept it this long with no repairs or even an update! read more

In my experience, the service from this store can't be beat. I'm in a wheelchair, so lugging all my mac stuff in is not favorable. NO PROB. They have made a few house calls, always with success. They don't do the hard sell either, even though they're right on the money, when anticipating my future mac needs. I think competition is all well and good, but so is fidelity. read more

My MacBook wouldn't turn on and had the white screen of death one morning during finals week. All the apple stores didn't have time to help me but Bundy Computer not only fixed it (with my hard drive intact) but got it back to me in a day. I have so many good things to say about them. It's not fancy like the Apple store. The salesmen aren't slick. The space is a little weird looking. But the service is excellent. When I know I need a new type of software or a equipment but I'm not sure exactly what I need, this is my first stop. The guys who work there actually care about getting you the right product for your needs, not selling you what's hot or will snag them the biggest commission. And they'll talk you through the process of selecting anything from a new computer to a different armband for your iPod. I recently purchased one of their refurbished macs. When I went back later to pick it up, the salesman greeted me by name and had the computer wrapped up and at the checkout before I got two feet in the door. On some items, you can get it a little cheaper at Amazon or other shops, but for the most part, I've found the prices to be competitive -- especially if you don't want to wait for shipping. All in all, it's a great place to shop if you just want good service and decent prices without a lot of showmanship. read more

I bought a topcase online to replace the old one on my Mac. After receiving less than pleasant treatment coupled with high prices at Springboard Media, I turned to Bundy. The sales reps and technicians were all slightly awkward, friendly fellows who were eager to help. They replaced my topcase in under an hour, and charged me half the price of other Apple retailers. Additionally, the sales reps were attentive, quick to answer questions (in person and on the phone), and my computer is now functioing 100%. I purchased a Clear HotSpot from Bundy Computer. I decided to return it within the 30 day return period that Clear provides refunds for as part of their guarantee. Because I no longer had the original packaging, Bundy Computer refused to accept the return. Fortunately, Clear allowed me to return the product directly to them. I thought that going to such a well-established business would ensure exceptional customer support - I was wrong. It appears they are only interested in making the sale. Bundy Computer Repair has excellent customer service and provides great repairs and MAC products. I have had an experience on my mac book pro where the screen needed to be repaired. They fixed the problem within a week and suggested products to protect any electronic devices I purchase. Bundy prices are as the same as competitors and can be affordable and the sales reps gives attention to customers and have alot of product knowledge if you have any questions. read more

TERRIBLE. I took my external hard drive there because it would not turn on. Safe to say I was freaking out. They said they did everything they could and couldn't restore anything. The recommended that I send it to California for serious repair (which costs an arm and a leg). So a friend of a friend took a quick look at it and it was the power cord. Really Bundy? Told twice that they could repair my cracked iPhone screen. Dropped off at 9:30am and called 6 hours later only to be told they didn't actually have the part. I went a few blocks away and had my phone fixed within half an hour for $10 less than Bundy's price. I don't know what their other services are like, but fixing cracked screens is NOT their specialty. read more
