As for my data problem, the gentleman provided instructions for how to move the data without losing it. After speaking to an Apple tech, who advised I get a new phone because my version 11 phone has only half the capacity of the newer phones out there because "the upgrades require more just to run the phone" and since I can't afford one at the moment, this is the perfect opportunity to learn a new skill ! I have never had a car with a key fob before, so I did not know what to do. My initial thought was to take the car to the Lexus dealership. Fortunately, I happened to be in the vicinity of this Best Buy, and my instinct told me to check them out. I stopped in and went to the Geek Squad desk. Jerry offered to help me out on the spot, even though they usually require an appointment. Jerry had me pull up my car to in front of the store so that he could look for a charging port. Once he had determined that my car did not have one, Jerry took apart my key fob so that we could take a look at the battery. I then went to the floor of Best Buy and found the right model of replacement battery. After I purchased the new battery, I returned to the Geek Squad desk. Jerry took the new battery and my key fob, went to the back of the store, and then returned with my key fob, having installed the new battery. This experience was so much faster and cheaper than going to the car dealership!

Every time I consider canceling my yearly membership, something else occurs which proves the value of keeping it. I'm a "heavy" tech user, due to the size of my family, we collectively have 2 desktop computers (just upgraded to Mac Mini M4) and 5 laptops and 5 tablets. For the adults, most of us also use not only ONE cell phone, but typically our jobs give us an assigned cell phone. Even though we're permitted to use the work issued phone for personal calls, we just NEVER EVER do that. So we also have 5 normal smartphones (some prefer android and some prefer iPhone) and one family member has a flip phone, too. Additionally because we live in a 100+ year old stone house, we have *never* been able to use routers or modems provided by *ANY* ISP provider (we've used them ALL - making the switch usually to get the lower price offer from another company - and are about to switch AGAIN) so I'll need to buy a modem to use with this change. When MESH came out we upgraded from WiFi extenders to a MESH unit to manage internet internally here at home. BEST THING EVER for older homes with thick walls. We also have extensive outdoor security cameras which require WiFi, and like many families, the affordability of flat screen TV's means that everyone in the family has one in their own room, as well as having a TV in the kitchen, living room, home office and family room, and in our basement which the family uses as an art studio. EVERYTHING "technology" was purchased via BEST BUY and very often we've been able to plan to buy in such a way as to do it during the best sales, flash sales and also for yearly BLACK FRIDAY sales. We also have utilized the trade-in to get money back for old tech as we upgrade, as well as buying refurbished devices - especially laptops and cell phones, to keep costs of these devices in a manageable range. I recently even purchased a king size gel mattress topper from Best Buy after experiencing a gel mattress while on vacation. I can't afford to buy the bed, but the topper seems to have improved our sleeping experience on our king sized bed without having to break the bank and buy a newer and really costly mattress. The Geek Squad/Genius Bar knows us well and has been so very helpful to assist us as we work to overcome any challenges. And, on that note of "SERVICE", it's just nice to be able to deal with REAL HUMAN BEINGS inside the Best Buy store when you need help and when something breaks. I LOVE IT!!

I needed the battery replaced in my smart watch, I searched online and also went to several watch…read morerepair stores, couldn't find anyone to do it. Got a recommendation to try Girls Fix it. While the battery was replaced, and the watch is working fine the communication left much to be desired. Dropped off watch on Saturday, was told battery should arrive Monday. Okay, that set the expectation the watch would be ready sometime by the end of week at least. Crickets! The following Saturday I reached out for a status update. Response was battery was received, will test today or tomorrow, meaning Sat or Sun. Monday got a text that battery was replaced, and watch was turning on. I then asked when I can pick watch up. Response, I'm homebound until the 9th of Dec, however, can have watch delivered. I asked who would pay delivery charge, response, we will cover $15. I opted to pick watch up from same location I dropped it off as I live a 25-minute drive away and I'm not up on Uber deliver charges. We agreed on time and date. Day of pickup I receive a text at 2:45 (5 o'clock pickup) stating we're coordinating with someone to meet me at designated time and place. At pickup time I receive a text that I fell asleep. I then opted to wait for Uber delivery. Watch was delivered about 6pm, waited an hour. Communication is key to good customer service!!!!
