When I first got there, they sold out of my part just 10 minutes into department opening, and I had to go to the University City location, where they ended up giving me a defective screen, and I had to return to the Center City location, where the store clerk showed up 10 minutes later than opening. I tried to give them additional business by giving them my other phone to fix, and it turned out that they broke my android's screen in the process. All of this would have devastated the review if it weren't for my last and third visit, where I showed up 5 minutes before store closure and the new clerk was incredibly kind, not-angry, and fixed my phone. While the end justified the means, I would recommend calling really ahead of time before you bring your phone over for fixing. Results may wry, and consider getting the warranty.

As for my data problem, the gentleman provided instructions for how to move the data without losing it. After speaking to an Apple tech, who advised I get a new phone because my version 11 phone has only half the capacity of the newer phones out there because "the upgrades require more just to run the phone" and since I can't afford one at the moment, this is the perfect opportunity to learn a new skill ! I bought a 2 year used Dell from an eBay seller. It was Ebay Certified. When it arrived, it wouldn't turn on without being plugged in. Windows displayed a message that the battery was bad. The seller from Ohio boasted that he does a 20 point inspection on all computers he sells. HA!! Fortunately, I went to Fred at Tri State. He offered me a very fair estimate on a battery installation. I did get a partial refund to cover the cost of a new battery from the eBay seller and when the battery arrived, I took it and my laptop to Tri State. My job is only a few blocks from Tri State. Still, its hard to find the time to leave being as busy as we are. Fred not only installed the battery in a couple hours, but dropped it off in person at my job! First Class Customer Service. And just darn nice of him. I will be visiting Fred again in the future. I HIGHLY Recommend Tri State Computech. read more

I came to buy a charger for my laptop. After I completed the transaction, I realized that I don't need the whole charger, but only the half that connects to the laptop. After I told the person who worked with me (should've asked for his name) about that, he told me that they have the exact part that I need. He agreed to take back the whole charger and issue me a refund and sell me the half-part that I need, despite the fact that it cost four times less. I could tell he wasn't too happy about that but I respect that he acted in my best interest nonetheless. Thank you very much! read more

I brought my iPhone after the screen had cracked and the staff here were very helpful. The service was friendly, fast (they had replaced the screen within the hour) and it was very affordable. My husband has also brought his PC here a number of times in the past and he has always been very pleased with the service. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for computer or phone repairs. Great Service! My laptop just died in the middle of a business meeting. Took it to the store and Fred (owner) fixed it perfectly. Told me that it would take 24 hours and it ended up taking 36 but not a big deal. Didn't charge me anything on top of the original $70 service fee although I would definitely have paid more if he asked. Great service and would definitely recommend. read more

Phil Chapline broke this trust when he suggested that I contact him if future problems developed. When I needed help, he chose to ignore a paying customer who he had no conflict with. Instead of the 2-3 day wait I was expecting, he asked me if I had a few minutes, proceeded to take the computer apart and replace the power supply and send me home with a repaired computer 15 minutes later - all for less than $100! As I earn my living using this computer every day, I was extremely happy with this good old-fashioned, excellent customer service. Although I'm sure they can't offer that sort of turnaround time (or price) on most repair jobs I will nevertheless be using them for all my computer repair needs in the future.
