I love this place and this guy. He has helped me so much over so many years. It's the kind of mom & pop service that is all but extinct in the modern world. I hope he sticks around for a long time. read more

Fred is the best. He is knowledgeable and informative, as well as trustworthy. I have been bringing my computers to him for many years! Plus, I have referred friends, clients, and colleagues to him for computer services and they have all been pleased. read more

I have been coming here for the past 5-6 years and they have always been great at fixing any computer problems that I have been having. I'm pretty confident that I will be purchasing a refurbished laptop from them in the upcoming weeks. The only reason I don't give them five stars is that it is quite common to come to the shop and not find anyone there. Pretty typical for a small business but can be quite annoying when one has limited time. Just a heads up to call before going there. read more

Fred 'saved the day' for me, a weary traveler in need of a replacement power supply for an older MacBook Pro. If I lived close, I would likely be a 'regular' customer to be sure. THANK YOU!!! read more

I came here during open business hours and there was a note on the door saying "out for service, please call me cell." I called and the person said they wouldn't be back for an hour. Very inconvenient. read more

After my 7 year old MacBook Pro randomly stopped working, I freaked out a little bit trying to look for a computer store that wouldn't charge me an arm and a leg to fix it. Luckily, Tri state was one of the only stores that offered free diagnostics. After learning that my computer's hard drive crashed, I bought a new hard drive and had the technician install it for only $90! This price was a steal considering other places were charging upwards of $200 for hard drive replacement. The technician was very kind and even offered to give me the contact info of a guy who does data recovery, since that wasn't his specialty. Would definitely come here again and will recommend it to all of my friends! Exceptional service! read more

Top-notch computer repair service. I have an HP envy sleek book (2012, purchased for $600) that I accidentally dropped on its corner. The hinge broke making it impossible to close the lid without breaking the plastic casing around the edge of the screen. Fred, the owner, fixed the hinge part with a beautifully installed screw that is not even visible. I can now close my laptop, the job took 2 days, and he charged all of $74. Definitely bring your computer woes to this shop. read more

The hinge on my Dell laptop broke. They ordered the part and did an excellent, prompt and cost effective job fixing it.

My laptop was overheating and shutting down. Also, I need Windows 8 exorcised from my laptop. Fred did it fast and reasonable. One day and I was back in business. Very professional and very good. Very happy. read more

After looking endlessly for a decent computer repair shop in Philly, I stumbled across Tri-State Computech. I was having a difficult issue to solve with my computer and Fred at Tri-State Computech gave me fantastic service. He tested out my CPU at first and it wasn't the issue, so I later brought my full build in and he tested all the parts and let me know the my motherboard was causing the problem. He did this all for a great price and actually worked PAST his usual closing time for a Saturday. If I have any future problems with my computer, I'm going straight back to Tri-State Computech. read more

I tried and failed at installing a new lcd screen on my Samsung laptop. I brought it to Tri-State and the owner (?) fixed it in record time for a very reasonable price, much less than other quotes I received in the area. Honest, fast, and efficient. I will definitely return. read more

I dropped my laptop and the hard drive died. Fred saved the day--a new hard drive along with Windows 7 and my computer was good as new. I highly recommend Tristate Computech--great service and reasonable prices! read more

Fred saved my laptop =) It was pulled apart at the jack by our Roomba. All that another computer repair place could do was glue parts of the case together and not fix the actual issue - replacing the jack. No one could find the part. I walked into Tri-state Computech, and upon looking at the make and model of the laptop, Fred immediately pulled out a box of potential replacement parts. My computer was whole again in 48 hours. He is knowledgeable, efficient and prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend. Would definitely go back again (though hopefully won't have to!) read more

WARNING!!! AFTER A SIMPLE REPAIR WE GOT OUR COMPUTER BACK AND THE HARD DRIVE WAS WIPED!!! WE LOST EVERYTHING! We took our computer to Tri-State because it would not turn on. After Tri-State looked at the computer they informed us that it needed a new power supply. We gave the ok to do that and were then told that Windows would need to be re-installed as the computer kept restarting on its own. We gave the ok to re-install Windows. When we got the computer home, we found that our computer was completely wiped. All of our photos, documents, and music were gone! We were never told that re-installing Windows would wipe our hard drive. Tri-State never backed up the data or told us that this would happen. We took our computer back to see if the data could be restored. . It was there for 3 additional weeks and no progress was made on the restoration. We were told a couple of programs were run and could not retrieve the lost data. During those 3 weeks we only received one call informing us of the progress. I voiced my displeasure about the entire situation and requested a refund. I was told no refund would be given but I could receive store credit. I would never trust my computer to Tri-State again so I turned down the offer but I still think I am entitled to a refund. They deleted all of our business files, our treasured photos, and all of our music and were only given an insincere apology. The customer service here is abysmal. read more

I took in my laptop for cleaning and possible fan replacement -- something that would have kept it in the shop for an interminable week -- when I had deadlines looming and no great way to work otherwise. He addressed it promptly and I had my computer back -- to my great surprise! -- the very next day. I highly recommend this place. read more

Fred's a real asset to the neighborhood. My laptop had what turned out to be a very minor issue (thankfully), and he was able to take a look and almost immediately fix the problem--no waiting, no leaving the machine overnight. Ten minutes in and out. He didn't even charge me the usual diagnostic fee, just a token amount. With his help, what could've been a protracted, painful process was quick, easy, and inexpensive. After this, I can't imagine going anywhere else. read more
