I went to Scoozzi for Sour Beef and Dumplings after being prompted by a notification from Yelp. I wasn't disappointed. The restaurant is cozy and quaint. The staff were pleasant and professional. Shelly was very helpful and attentive. Tha Sour Beef and Dumplings did not disappoint. Three and a half stars is appropriate for Scoozzi but I rounded up. I recommend Scoozzi and their Sour Beef...

Incredible food. The crab stuffed fish was delicious, perfectly cooked, a huge portion, and the price was insane. I've come here a few times with family and the food ALWAYS hits. 10/10 mom and pop's diner with a bar and a slight hole-in-the-wall or maybe 70's mob vibe. I love it.

Scoozzi's is a great traditional restaurant that you go with your friends and family to have laughs, conversations, and to root for the team on TV---like how you did before people's eyeballs were glued to their phones. I had the Scoozzi Burger and it was super-tasty--you could taste the grains of the ground beef, char-sizzled perfectly to order with a flavor that no fast food could match. The fries could have been homemade but certainly, were not the cheap Sysco bulk fries that so many little places use---and tastes so bland. Service was super hon-friendly, maybe not the most peppiest---but gave you time to enjoy your meal and company. The burger on ran $9; and for a sit-down and get real food place, that is a true bargain. Many of their menu items were priced easy on the wallet. I definitely recommend if you are in the general area, want good food, priced right, in a comfy atmosphere.

I was in the Dundalk area by chance and decided to give Smokin' Joes Grill a shot after seeing…read moreothers' reviews. I think it's worth mentioning that I've never had pit beef before so I am by no means an expert as to what's good or not. I will also say however, that what I ordered, the open face pit beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy was ok. The entire plate was swimming in gravy so that took away from what could've been a better meal. I did ask for gravy on the whole sandwich and the mashed potatoes (because the picture on their website looked like gravy only came on the mashed potatoes and I do like a little extra) but I wasn't expecting a to-go box literally full of gravy, so that's probably my fault. The texture of the beef mixed with all the gravy and mashed potatoes was a bit unpleasant and soupy and I periodically had to pick burnt bits and foil out my mouth so that also took away from the experience. They seem to have a pretty vast menu and I had no idea what I was going to get when I walked in. The young lady that took my order was very friendly and helped me come to my decision so the customer service was good and I appreciated her patience with me. As far as ambiance goes, while I was waiting for my order, there was an older man waiting for his order that was yelling at the tv about how Joe Biden hasn't done anything for this country and that Trump only told the truth. I try not to get caught up in politics with strangers because it really can be off putting but what can you do. I wouldn't do the gravy with a side of open face pit beef sandwich again but there's so many other options I'd like to try in the future should I find myself in the area again. A man that was also waiting for his order said he really like the ribs.

But now they are Italian and part of a growing chain of restaurants. I wish they would remove the "Curry Cafe" sign from their side window because it brings me grief. They no longer have any Indian food on their menu, or anything remotely curry-like, so this is false advertising, but we used to go to Caddyshack for Butter Chicken and the like, when we had a craving and now we have to go into the city to find delicious Indian food. I miss the convenience of being able to go just down the street for mango lassis and naan. I don't eat nearly as much Indian food as I would like because Fell's Point seems like such a haul from Dundalk. It's not, really, but you get my point. We were coming home from Jeremy's surgery and no one had the energy to make dinner. We needed something cheap that could feed three people (Justin was with us because Jeremy wasn't allowed to drive after his ordeal, and I can't drive) so pizza sounded about right. Even when this place was Caddyshack, we never ordered pizza, so we took a shot and I ordered online (I love the convenience of being able to do that. Socially awkward people unite!). The pizza (with sausage, pepperoni, and onion) was amazing. The crust is thin, with enough flavor to it that my cat Jayne decided that he needed to steal my bone/crust right off my plate. He's so spoiled. The onions were a little sparse, but my tastebuds didn't miss them because the sausage and pepperoni were so delicious. They were running a deal for Tuesday, where you could get a 16" three-topping pizza for a VERY reasonable price, so I tacked on some hot honey wings, too. Not a fan of those. They're typical wings, but the hot honey sauce didn't sing. I should have ordered my favorite - sweet thai chili, so that's MY error, not the restaurant's. I would definitely go back for the pizza. The three of us tore through that thing, leaving nothing behind. Really superb.

Very good pizza, excellent cream of crab soup, even better price! I will keep going back.read more

The good prices and generous portions are just the ribbon on the prize. The dinner, I had the veal cutlet. Wow. The veal was the size of my head, and cooked just right. The gravy had just the right consistency. Breakfast on Saturday was an early one, and I had the country fried steak. Again, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Sunday breakfast I tried the chipped beef. It had ALL the flavor and wasn't gritty tasting like some other diners. The service is ALWAYS friendly and fast, I've never had to wait for a seat, and my food comes out piping hot. The coffee is always fresh and they leave plenty of creamer. Parking is a little tight but not insane. Last but not least, they bring the check in a reasonable amount of time. I hate waiting forever for the check. The restaurant is clean, and brightly painted. There is also counter seating if you're flying solo. Definitely a place with local color, I think I found my new favorite spot on the Dundalk/Essex side of town!!!

After the waitress (the mean one) brought out the burger we needed some emotional encouragement to bite into that meat. Wow was that good. The mean waitress actually made me put my own ketchup on the fries. How DARE SHE!! Overall, I give the diner 5 stars only because the mean waitress told me i better write a good review...OR ELSE!!
