I have to say, I'm not entirely thrilled with Scooterville right now. My scooter and I were in an accident three weeks ago yesterday, and sadly, the bike needs a little work. The day after the accident, I discovered the brake handle was snapped and would need to be replaced. They got me in and out in an hour! I was so thrilled, and looking forward to writing another glowing review for the shop. I noticed a little wobble in the front of the scooter while out riding the next couple of days. I brought it in, and Jonathan rode it for me - he noticed the wobble right away. Glad to know it wasn't just me being paranoid! Since they had gotten me in and out same day with the brake handle, I thought this would be a quick job, too. Obviously, it would take a little longer if parts needed to be ordered, but it should have gone quickly. I dropped my bike off first thing Friday morning. I have classes on the West Bank, so I stopped in late the next afternoon to check on the progress. They hadn't had a chance to look at it, so I settled in for the long weekend to wait it out until Tuesday morning. Tuesday came and went with no news, as did Wednesday and Thursday. I called on Friday, and still no news. A few hours later, I received a call saying they had found the problem: a bent front wheel. They would get to work on it just as soon as possible, but they would need to order in some parts, which could take as long as 5 days to ship in. BUMMER. I waited another week before checking in...found myself on the West Bank on Friday, so I stopped in to see if there was any progress. They hadn't even received the parts yet! I'm not sure how they don't keep ANY of this stuff in stock. They sell a TON of Buddy scooters, they should keep a few spare parts on hand. On top of the fact that the parts weren't yet there, they told me that Steve, the mechanic, rode my scooter and 'couldn't find the wobble.' The people who are NOT the mechanics had to tell Steve, the 'trained professional,' to take it out again, and this time, take it up over 30mph. I sincerely wonder if the diagnosed bent wheel is even the issue. I guess we'll see when I get my scooter back, if the repair makes the wobble go away or not. That leaves me where I am now. It's Wednesday afternoon, and pushing three weeks since I dropped my scooter off with them. When you don't own a car, your scooter is your ticket to freedom in this city! I'll update again when I get the call that my scooter is all pretty and ready to come home to me. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is the worst with customer service, specifically Bob and Jonathon. I wanted to buy a $4K scooter and even told the sales person (Bob) over the phone I was ready to buy, asked him to send the invoice with VIN so get it insured to take delivery, and I would take delivery in 48 hours Thursday specifically). Bob's follow up in every conversation lacked and was pitiful from a service perspective over the course of the 2 weeks we were in discussions. I called to escalate to the manager Jonathon today, and I can't believe he's a manager. I explained the situation, the lack of responsiveness from Bob, and that I was ready to buy and had been trying to work with Bob for past 2 weeks. There was NO apology or acknowledgement to my situation, he did NOT listen...overall AWFUL customer service. Given that I like to support local and small businesses I wanted to buy a scooter there, but given the overall terrible experience and customer service, I'll take my business elsewhere. Support of my TNG scooter was non existent - two different contacts said they'd get back to me, crickets. I haven't been there in person for years - 2 or 3 times some a-hole always tried to start a conversation with me, not sure if he's a relative or what as he was just standing there. Unprompted he told me my scooter was basically junk, the scooter I bought from Scooterville. Thanks, buddy. Frankly I'm annoyed they are still in business. Must not be a lot of alternatives. Based on the variety of reviews, looks like experiences at Scooterville can be "hit or miss." My experience was great. I showed up on a scooter that I purchased elsewhere, explained I needed the oil and parts for the initial break in service (both engine and gear oil changes) that I planned to perform at home, and they gave me everything I needed. Even provided some helpful hints on doing the work myself. read more

I've been to Scooterville a number of times over the past couple of years, mostly for parts and accessories. I've always been impressed by how friendly the people are who work there. Last fall, our scooter tipped over, The left brake lever snapped and needed replacing. Fancying myself a true "wrench", I headed to Scooterville, picked up the part and then proceeded to spend 2+ hours attempting to replace the lever. In the process, I must have removed just about every part of the external housing of the scooter in an attempt to gain access to the necessary area. With light and patience fading and expletives flowing freely, I finally succeeded in getting the lever in place and functioning. As I stretched my aching back in triumph, I swore I would never ever let the scooter tip over again under my watch. And I didn't...but my wife did Monday. Having learned my lesson, I stopped by Scooterville to see if I could get an appointment soon. They actually could have squeezed me in right then, but I didn't have my ride with me. I set up a time for two days later. I showed up a few minutes early and talked w/ the mechanic to remind him what needed work. He disappeared for a few minutes and I started to wonder when he was coming back. I glanced outside and saw him already working on the scooter in the parking lot. I joined him outside to watch. Unlike me, he didn't remove any of the housing and was able to replace the lever in less than 15 minutes even while patiently answering a bunch of questions I had. Having observed a master in action, I'm fairly confident that I could replace a future broken lever in less than 1.5 hours. :) After he wrapped up, we went in and rang up my job for a very reasonable cost. All told, a great experience and I'll continue using them in the future. read more

Excellent shop. Really wide variety of scooters on the sales floor. If you are in the market for scooter in the Twin Cities, you will not be sorry you looked here. But i went there for service on a scooter i bought from a Honda shop. The Honda shop quoted $190 in a week. The week's wait turned out to be the Honda shop's problem. The guy at Scooterville fixed the wheel the same day while i waited 20 minutes for $35. They are friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend them. read more

I've always had great experiences with Scooterville. They're always friendly and knowledgeable. I purchased a Buddy 50cc from Jonathan and he was incredibly helpful. He even cut a bit off the sticker price, despite it being a limited edition Lemonhead Buddy. They did forget to give me the second key to my bike, but after I locked the key I had in the trunk they gladly gave me a second at no cost. The warranty on the buddy covered the towing to get it to he shop, and once there they didn't charge me for unlocking the trunk. I've had the bike stored and winterized twice with them and haven't had any problems. It's $300 well spent for me, especially living in an apartment without a garage to store the bike. The winterizing includes a full tune up, but this year I'm having body work done to fix up a couple scratches. Once this polar vortex ends and I can pick up my scoot again, I have faith that everything will be in great working order. read more

I like Scooterville for their selection of accessories, and their ability to service my scooter. However, the first (and so far only) time I had my scooter "winterized" there, they forgot to disconnect the battery so it died and had to be replaced the next year. They were good enough to do it without charge to me though, since they admitted they were supposed to have done it. I will still go back, but next time I will verify with them that they did it. read more

I went in to shop for a scooter for my wife. I described what she would be using it for, and that she worked for the U. The sales manager immediately suggested the Buddy 50, their top selling model. He mentioned at the college there is a free parking permit for students & faculty for scooters 50CC or less. Score! Since my wife is petite, and she would only be driving on city streets, it was the perfect fit. I'm sure he could have upsold me on something more expensive, but he was more interested in getting the right scooter to fit our needs. read more

Was looking for a specific helmet (white, xs, and with an internal sun visor, all at the end of the season). Bob was super helpful, and had me try a number of options -- even went out of his way to swap visors on a few options. I ended up not getting a helmet here, but was so impressed with the service. He even gave me some reflective stickers that I had talked about, to increase my visibility. I will definitely return here if/when I have additional riding needs. read more

Hello, I just wanted to touch base despite my recent phone calls I've made to your shop in the recent weeks to procure a 2018 Vespa GTS Super Sport. I realize I am not a "local" and may not receive the same level of customer service a local/returning customer would but I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed I am. To me, Scooterville Minneapolis is my local shop and I have been a long distant customer since 2011 when I first moved to Minot, ND. Your shop completely rebuilt the motor in another scooter of mine and I've since made multiple other stops when I make the long 8+ hour drive to The Cities. I initially made contact with you in October of 2017 through Facebook while being forward deployed to the Middle East with high hopes and something to look forward to on my return; I knew I'd be able to set aside the money required to purchase a new 2018 Vespa GTS Super Sport as well as make some additional upgrades. Despite have little to no correspondence, I continued to reach out as much as I could being deployed. Returning less than a month ago, I STILL made the effort and contacted you directly via telephone but you only had a white GTS Super in stock and do not have the ability through your vendor to get the Super Sport model I had hoped for. There has been very little effort on your end to make me feel like a valued customer but I had hoped, if I reached out with plenty of foresight (October 2017) I'd be able to purchase a 2018 Vespa GTS Super Sport. We've had them tune it up, bought replacement parts and helmets, and generally used them as our go-to scooter resource. I took my Vespa in for a tune up and clutch work, and I was told there is a two week wait before they can even look at it. Obviously, they are pretty dang busy. Are there any other places around here that can fix a 1979 Vespa? So, it took a long time, but I am totally impressed with the quality of work and communication. The mechanic called me and asked for an OK before he did anything else, and asked my opinion on how to proceed. The final price was lower than expected. This place has absolutely horrible support. Your scooter can sit for a week or more and the job they do is horrible. I went in to have the carb cleaned because it wouldn't idle, 2 weeks later when I went to pick it up it wouldn't even start at all. They wouldn't fix it. They said the valves needed adjusting and this was not their fault. It 's a common problem and they wanted $70 for the job. I needed the headlight replaced and about 5 blocks from the shop the front of the scooter fell off. They 'forgot' to screw the front parts back on after replacing it. I needed a tire and they wanted over $130 just for the tire while other shops (Tousley in this case) charged less than $80 including mounting and balancing although they did forget to bolt the exhaust back on.... Bottom line is, don't buy anything that forces you to go to them for service or parts. Make sure you find a shop (I was very happy with Blue Cat) that can service what you buy because you don't want to go back. read more

Are you kidding me? I had a little fender bender last summer.... i waited till november to take my scooter in. it needed cosmetic work only so i could ride it all summer long. i dropped it off in november and stopped back in january to see how it was coming... funny they hadnt even started on it. i asked why and they said they werent sure what i wanted done... hmmm could have called me? but no. so i stopped back three weeks later to see if they had touched it. nothing. i picked it up two days later. they offered me no explaination as to why they didnt work on it. nor did they even help me load it on my trailer. i spoke with some friends who just recently purchased a scooter and went to scooterville to have it worked on... seems if i only had big tits and talked real sweet i would have gotten some help... with the economy being what it is, and it not being riding season i would think that they would be happy to have a paying customer.. guess not.. well they dont have to worry about me coming back or sending any future customers their way..when i lose 30lbs and get a boob job maybe i will be back for friendly service.
