My son, who happens to be autistic, at times struggles with some places, just being over stimulating or loud. Country Charm is none of this. The people are warm and welcoming. The food is something to look forward to each week as an indulgent treat. The drinks are on point and let me once again mention the people, the staff is second to none. Thank you for creating such a wonderful part of our weekly routine.

I really wanted to support a local business since I live in Van Alstyne. I stopped by a few days…read moreago and absolutely loved the Honey Salted Dirty Chai, so I asked my husband to pick one up for me today. Unfortunately, he came home with the wrong drink. It had no espresso and no cold foam, even though the menu lists cold foam as part of the drink. We went back hoping they would simply remake it correctly, but instead we were met with some of the worst customer service I've experienced. Rather than apologizing or trying to make it right, the baristas insisted my husband "didn't say dirty" and then told us we had to specifically ask for the cold foam, even though it's advertised as being included. To top it off, they charged us an additional $3+ for the cold foam and 1 shot of espresso. A drink that was already around $7 ended up costing over $10 just to receive what the menu originally described. Mistakes happen, and I completely understand that. What I don't understand is the lack of accountability and the unwillingness to provide good customer service. A simple apology and a willingness to fix the mistake would have gone a long way. I wanted to support, but after this experience, I won't be back.

I'm glad I stuck with it and checked around the corner - that's where I found a super steep staircase leading to a magical coffeeshop space. The second floor has it all: creaky wooden floors, broad sunny windows, exposed brick walls, high ceilings, a counter full of quirky merchandise including stickers, jewelry, bookmarks and more. There's a rack of curated vintage clothes and a bookcase wall. So - the setting is amazing and this would be the perfect place to meet a friend, or settle in for an afternoon and get some work done. The menu is seasonal - I tried a latte and my friend tried an iced matcha - both were delicious! Really glad I took the time to check out this unique spot.

Free water and bottomless coffee refill in the corner. They sell balms, stickers, clothes, and more. Prices are a little steep, especially with a farmers market across the street, but options are always a good thing. I ordered a large latte. The menu states flavors are an extra .50 in the menu book, but I was charged $1. (Just an observation that the prices may not be correct on yeh menu book) They ask for tips, but I wouldn't. They don't clean up, you take your cups and plates to the trash area. We ordered the tacos. It did take 25 minutes to get it and it was not busy. Our coffee was ready pretty quickly. I presume (wild guess) that the food fixer dude is not good with multi tasking, or his desire to serve is lacking. Anyways, the serving size was good! The tacos were warm on top, but the eggs were cold on bottom. Plus they really had no flavor. My latte was warm at best and the coffee was not strong? I would suggest switching brands. The hot cocoa my husband got WAS delicious and stayed hot in the travel cup... so maybe that would help in the latte arena. The coffee server was by far very friendly. Thank you for Truly not being ugly, just an honest review. If I come back will try a coffee and a food item to see if it improved.

Over priced coffee- paid $10 for a 16 oz latte- and they only offer their "in house expensive milk" which is just a sweetened whole milk. Wasn't a big deal to over pay initially for this adequate latte - BUT- when I asked the status on my drink after it being 10 minutes of being here and others getting their orders, and mind you- never hearing my name called.... The 3 snobby girls behind the counter looked at me like I was an idiot and like I was trying to scam them for a drink- while there's only 5 customers here- ummm. ??? After confirming my name, they said "they called my name". As they did not bc there was no drink present. They made snobby faced responses as I walked away to wait again for my drink - that "only took 2 minutes to make". Also, the customer before me had to ask for her missing drink. My friend and I were not sitting far from the barista counter and could here these ladies gossiping about customers and being just quite rude and snobby. Customer service here is absolutely lacking. This, in addition to their house "The Espresso" roast, a very nice medium roast that brings good development while still maintaining very nice fruit and floral notes in the cup. The standard milk drinks are available, of course, and for those who want the fancy drinks, they do have a modest menu of those, but to be clear, this place is really focused on making the most of great quality coffee beans without covering them up with sugar and crazy flavorings. Filtered also offers specialty pourovers, as well as bagged coffees, from these and other roasters, so one can bring the good stuff home as well. The baristas really know their craft, and are happy to offer recommendations and actual taste observations from their offerings. Seating is fairly plentiful and the decor is calming and low key, as is the lighting, so it's a very "namaste" experience, in addition to good coffee. Bottom line, this place would be at home in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, etc. - it's just that good and elite in terms of offerings and service. And it's right here in our "little town"! Get here and get some.
