We stopped here based on the recommendation of our Airbnb Host. Your typical hole in the wall place with friendly staff and decent food. They had quite a selection considering the size of the restaurant. I ordered the fish and chips (I have a hard time not trying them anywhere I go). Portions were big and food was tasty. Very friendly place and server worked well with our group of 10. Overall, not much available for food so if you don't want to cook...it is worth the stop. We ate there for the first time after the new owners took over. We both ordered the steak fajita burritos, which we have had at many different places over the years. Everyone has their own twist on this, but the basics are usually the same, so we looked forward to trying theirs. We placed our drink order....iced tea for me and a tonic with lime for my husband. The tonic came with lemon instead of lime...which was an omen of things to come. They brought one plate out and we had to wait about 10 minutes for the second one to arrive. So you are faced with the choice of one person watching the other eat or letting your food go cold so that you can eat together. Their version of a fajita burrito was not like anything we've ever had before. There was no Mexican flavoring whatsoever ......just steak, onion, peppers, mushrooms and broccoli (yes broccoli!) with a bland salty beef gravy inside a tortilla wrap topped with a cheese sauce. None of the traditional Mexican spice (cumin, etc.) you would normally expect . Our waiter needed to invest in a better deodorant....he had very bad underarm odor which permeated our booth and lingered in the air. Not exactly an appetite enhancer. read more

We dined on Friday evening which was the 2nd day under the new ownership. There is a lot of Mexican fare but also choices for those who prefer the traditional burgers and pasta. I ordered the chicken burrito, and it was very good and a generous portion. It came with rice, but the waitress suggested we might try half the Spanish rice and half the refried beans to get a taste of both--which we did. The white cheese sauce they poured on top was yummy. Just enough spice and heat and there was no grease to speak of. Our waitress was great--she explained the different Mexican items on the menu since it's not what we normally eat. She was so energetic, sweet and attentive--she wanted to make sure we had a positive experience the first time there. All of the employees we saw were working hard to get customers seated and fed quickly. We are glad to have a new restaurant in Andover and definitely plan to go back soon! read more

We went here last night for a couple drinks and dinner. I'm a vegetarian so I just got a grilled cheese and salad. There weren't a lot of options for me. The sandwich was good. My hubby got a prime rib sandwich. He liked it. They had some better wine and beer options which is the real reason we went here. We stay at the cabins in Pymatuning every year and getting bud light or white zin isn't our cup of tea. We like wine and craft beers. I got a mirassou Pinot noir. Hubby got Sam Adams Oktoberfest. Overall the bill was $32.x for 4 drinks and 2 dinners. We would have paid double that at home so we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was really nice. Only Been here once but we had the sweetest server and the food was wonderful (chicken tenders, swordfish, fish and chips). They also give some of the best complimentary garlic bread you'll ever eat. I've never written a negative response before.. Waited 15 minutes to get a waitress at all. Got drinks, and then didn't see her for 45 minutes. I asked the hostess for help with finding our waitress, "I have no idea." is the only response we got. No help, no offer to help. After a total hour, we paid for our drinks and left. She said she only works one day a week and I can see why... she shouldn't be on the schedule at all to be honest. Took my family of 8 plus myself over 20 mins to receive drinks and another 20 mins to get it right because the drinks were wrong the first time around. Not to mention we waited almost 2 hours for our food and they were not even busy but ridiculously understaffed. The food here is pretty average. I had beer battered cod, and it was good if a little bland. It could have definitely used more seasoning. My husband's chicken sandwich looked to be drowned in mayo. The service was good. Take note that they only have buffalo wings on Thursdays and Sundays. That's an odd thing for a bar to do. We stopped there yesterday after looking for a new place in the Ashtabula/Jefferson area to eat. We drove past the bar and I have to say we weren't immediately impressed. We were seated in a booth and again the atmosphere was a bit lacking. However, our waitress was a delight. She admitted that she was new and just learning the menu which changes it's specials daily. The drinks arrived promptly and she answered as many questions about the selections as she could. The group ordered the Pittsburgh Steak Salad, the baked cod and the chicken parmesan. They were all delivered quickly and with all the various sides. Everyone agreed that the dinners were much better than the ambiance had indicated. The baked cod was flavorful and plentiful. The broccoli was a bit over done but it tasted fresh-not frozen. The spaghetti that the chicken was served on was done to perfection and the chicken was delish. The salad dressings were homemade so the blue cheese was thick and chuncky. Everyone agreed that not only would we go back, we would recommend this restaurant to our friends and family to try.
