This location had a recent renovation and it shows. They also seemed to have a revamped and more flavorful menu. I've been going here for years now and I've always liked it. Now it's even better. The chips and salsa were very tasty, lots of garlic. I ordered the veggie burrito and it was stuffed with sauteed mushrooms, onions and green peppers with a Verde sauce and melted cheese on top. Man was it good! My hubby ordered the enchilada supreme. It had bean, beef, chicken and cheese enchiladas in a lovely sauce. Really delicious. I'd have to say that I prefer these guys over other Americanised Mexican restaurants in Lake County. The staff is friendly, food is prompt and it's a very clean place. read more

The food here was yummy, they give you large quantities for your money. The food is served quickly and the service is fast. I loved the horchata and the large mug it was served in. I ordered the tacos and I appreciated how many different sauces that came with it. I ordered an avocado salad which was extremely basic but I was able to utilize the avocado and placed it on my tacos. read more

The service was good for us on that visit. The waiter was friendly and courteous. Perhaps we were there after lunch rush. We normally go to the Mentor or the Euclid Ave one. I ordered Fish Tacos ,for take out. The menu said 3 fish Tacos,topped with lettuce,purple cabbage,guacamole and fresh avocado slices for 8.79. I got home with three fish tacos ,fish in tacos ,no lettuce,purple cabbage or fresh avocado . And they charged me more. 1. Worst map direction to find this place as map apps kept leading us to wrong location. Worst for out of town visitors 2. Their website didn't specifically note when their lunch hour ended as we arrived about 15-30 minutes past the lunch hour time because we had searched for this place and they won't honor to give us lunch price which is bad business management 3. We ordered 4 kids meals which is priced at $5.25 each and drinks aren't included and charged us $2.19 per drink for each child which is overpriced and wrong because many restaurants always have drinks included so it is most expensive kids meal ever!!! Worst and overpriced kids meal 4. We've eaten at many different Mexican restaurants and the foods at Don Tequila foods are okay but not as awesome as where we've visited such as On the Border and Amigo Mexican Restaurant which is in East Tennessee areas (Jonesborough, Johnson City, Chattanooga Tennessee and Ringgold, Georgia) those are the best Mexican restaurants so we won't return to Don Tequila again when we visit Madison, Ohio again!!! Not so worth of your money and their prices are ripped off and bad management who refused to listen to us and treat us well!! read more

Visited the establishment two times. First time shared fajitas with my wife, very bland, high price 23 bucks and mediocre service. Wife said let's never go back but I had to try the Tues. 5-5 tacos's. Wow I have never had a Taco this bad. Doesn't make you sick but Zero flavor. Had a 3 off of 20 coupon. Spent 29 yet they would not honor coupon, even though tacos were 5 bucks. Totally Crap, Coupons mean nothing and rumor has it they use leftovers on other plates. The wait staff is horrid, we went tonight to celebrate our kids having all A's and B's on their report cards and food for my spouse came out not complete then mine came out mine was not done and then our 3 kids food came out. Our 3 year old took one bite and refused any more. She didn't even receive silverware to eat with. The waiter was rude never please , thank you, can I offer you anything else. We were given 3 napkins like they were short on paper. Our son spilled his drink I had to ask for someone to bring us clean up towels and was brought a wet dishcloth. WOW, most good places immediately offer extra paper supplies to families with children. Upon checking out the manager never smiled asked how our meal was or said thank you upon leaving. This place has great food. Horribly rude waiters, extremely terrible drinks. I was given a margarita with extremely small amount of tequila. Best Mexican restaurant in the area. We have been there 10-15 times and it has never been anything less than delicious. The staff is ALWAYS friendly, attentive, and on point. From birthday dinners to a quick lunch they are always a perfect spot...and not just because restaurant options in the area are limited. We used to eat here all the time. Now i will never be back. Came in for lunch with my son and he ordered cheese quesidallias and fries. Halfway through his quesidallia, he almost puked on the table. Upon inspection there was something blue melted in the cheese. When I called the waiter over and we pulled it apart more, it was melted plastic. He asked if I wanted another, and I told him all i wanted was our check without the quesidallia on it, he still charged me for it, jerk. Take out was good a few weeks ago. But dining in last night was terrible. My husbands jumbo shrimp was over cooked popcorn shrimp served with cold rice. My chicken fajita was also overlooked and actually blackened on the sizzling pan it was served on Only the top layer was edible. Sad because it just reinforced why we cook at home rather than go out. So I came here a couple of years ago and hated it. I never went back. My friend really wanted to eat lunch here. So I gave it a shot. I ordered chicken fajitas and it was so GOOD! It was flavorful, tender, and super hot and sizzling when it came out. Our waiter was sweet and friendly. All the staff smiled and were nice to us. I love a place like that! The service was quick. My friend even left her wallet and phone and as we were walking out the door, they brought the items to us. We both enjoyed our meals. I came in with a coupon and as soon as the waitress knew this, she was giving bad service and was rude. After we ate, i received the bill and i had asked her if she could split the bill, she said not with the coupon. So i said that was fine and that i understood why.
