Truffle oil Parmesan fries.
Christine M.

We ordered a chili verde burger and gochujung crunchy chicken filet. We shared the sandwiches. The chicken sandwich was outstanding! Enjoyed everyth ing about it! Crunch and sauce balanced well with a little slaw on the inside. **** The promo chili verde burger. Meh *** unsensational and small. Asked for lettuce and tomatoes which made it better. Truffle Parmesan fries were just Parmesan . Disappointed.

Blue Burger

I can honestly say that the Blue Burger is probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. I was in town visiting and Scolari's was recommended. i only ordered the Blue Burger and it was definitely enough! So delicious, flavorful and everything about it was perfect. The blueberry sauce balances the bleu cheese and arugula. The service was great. Staff were friendly and prompt. Love the location and the vibe.

Classic Cheese Burger

Scolari's gets a lot of attention with Instagram foodies and I decided to give them a try. I got the classic cheese burger for $17.95 and it was tasty. It reminds me of a In and Out burger at 3x the price with more premium lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. The bun was nicely toasted like In and Out. The pattie looked like it was a quarter pound. The service was good and I enjoyed the burger in the parklet seating.

This spot is incredible and so unique! Who would've thought to put blueberries in a burger! I removed the blue cheese because I'm not a fan but it was super delicious the bacon is super crispy and I love the seasoning on the burger! The fries are fresh but a little too oily other than that it was good! The service is quick and the cashier bring the food out to you, keep in mind they only have outdoor seating but it's nice since the weather has been great! There's little shops near it so you can walk around and explore. I would definitely come back!

Bacon blueberry bleu cheese burger

I think this place has the best burger in Alameda! The bacon blueberry bleu cheese burger is smackalackin! Standing taller than your face, you're gonna need to unlock your jawbone to take a proper bite of this beast. Sweet and savory, hitting all your senses. Chill and grab a drink next door while you wait for your food, there's even a patio in the back if weather is nice. Kick it, snatch a brewski and smack that triple B burger and be fat and happy. YOLO!

I am highly disappointed in Scolari's for this one. They are supposed to provide high quality and highly executed meals. I ordered the chopped cheese which is similar to a Philly cheesesteak but uses ground meat instead of sliced meat. The meat is the highlight complemented by the cheese and then other toppings such as mayo, lettuce, and tomato. Unfortunately, the meat was missing. I know what their hamburger patties look like, they didn't even use one whole patty on this sandwich. It was more like a touch of meat. I ordered this food delivered because I'm in pain and hadn't eaten all day. So, there was no taking it back. I just ate half of each side of my grilled cheese hoagie. That's what it should have been called. I have heard of some places not treating delivery with the same quality as other orders. I have had several people ask me my opinion of this place and this will reflect my review. I don't plan on returning. A chopped cheese literally being a cheese sandwich is ridiculous. Let's understand what terms mean and serve them up appropriately or not at all.

1303 Park St Alameda, CA 94501 On Sunday evening, around 7pm, I went to the popular "Scolari's Good Eats" to grab a Cheeseburger and Fries to go. In short, the food is good, service is good, but the prices are high. But you get to say you enjoyed the food at a famous local restaurant. 1303 Park Street is where you order. From there you have the choice of: - Takeout - Eat outside in a parklet - Go next door and eat in the bar, that has a patio. If you choose to eat there, they give you a number and they will bring you your food. But be aware, this isn't fast food. I had to wait 15-20 mins for my order. From the menu on the wall, I ordered: - Classic Cheeseburger w/ everything, $17.50 - Parmesan Truffle Fries, full order, $14 Gave the friendly server a 15% tip, total= $40.12 (incl tax) The Classic Cheeseburger is excellent. It's well balanced and delicious. Don't let that tall stack of lettuce concern you. You're not getting served a "salad burger." You will taste the medium rare meat patty and creamy cheese coating. The pickles and onions got my attention. The Parm Truffle Fries were a bit soggy and semi-crispy. Their dark color suggests they were "twice fried." Twice fried french fries are super crispy if they're plain. But they can get soggy quickly if you add toppings. My fries were tasty, but not very crispy. Overall, a good experience. https://www.scolarisgoodeats.com/ Next time, I will probably get plain fries and try the chicken sandwich.

Pepperoni pizza slice, Nashville hot good ol' boy, garlic scampi fries
Brandy G.

First time ever coming here, it was recommended by one of my friends. This is an order at the front, wait for the food situation with some picnic tables in front of the business. What a lot of people do is order food from here and get a drink from next door. The service was a little slow and they weren't that busy, so that was a little confusing. Overall, the atmosphere is pretty chill and just hang out with some friends vibes. We all felt the price was relatively high and not really matching with quality. The hot chicken sandwich was barely even hot but the chicken itself was pretty crispy which we liked. The chicken was kind of small for how big of a bun they give you. Plus the flavor wasn't all there, the thing that saved this sandwich from being bad was the jalapeños but if those weren't there it's pretty meh. The pizza slice was pretty good! I live for a good crust and this one fell a little short with the taste. My favorite thing was the fries, they come with chili flakes which were delicious but it seems like the toppings were small for how many fries there were. More garlic and chili flakes please! Overall I think I would find myself back here if I'm in the area but I don't think I would ever seek this place out. It was honestly just too expensive, pizza slice was $9 when usually pizza slice are max $6? I don't know, just seems like too high for quality of items. Parking was not a problem this night and Alameda street parking after 6pm is free!

Coconut shrimp, peanut butter, and jelly specialty sandwich

We enjoyed two different burgers and a specialty sandwich which included coconut shrimp along with peanut butter and jelly. All our dishes were very fresh, flavorful, and large in portion. I would certainly come back here again.

Garlic scampi fries (half and full order), blueberry bacon blue cheese burger, B.A.T Sandwich

4.5/5 I've been to Scolari's for years and this place has good quality burgers! It definitely hits the spot. My go to here is the blueberry bacon blue cheese burger. My friend didn't enjoy it as much as me, so if you're not into the sweet/savory flavor combination then I wouldn't order this. The fries are crispy, I believe they are twice fried, and the garlic scampi is loaded with fresh garlic. They don't have seating inside and it's a walk up and order place. However, you can grab your burger and enjoy it next door at Lucky 13 with a beer or they have outdoor seating available. The outdoor seating doesn't have heaters, so I recommend going on a sunny day if you want to enjoy sitting outside.

Came here since it's around the corner from the airport. Saw the yelp reviews and thought why not try it since it has a high ratings. Came in and saw the menu straight from the wall. Can't miss it, it's just that big screen. Just when I ordered the crispy hot dog from this dude. He chuckled and says "you came here to order just that?" I replied "yah, why not!! I want to eat a crispy hot dog." Then he said, "you looked at the menu and you don't want to try anything else?" So I asked him "alright! What do you recommend?" As he pointed out that it was on Food Network "Diners, Drive in and Dive" and that I should try it!!" So I told him go ahead and put those ones on my order: Nashville Hot Good Ol' Boy chicken Sandwich and Blueberry Bacon Blue Cheese Burger. Then when I got home I didn't see my Crispy Hot Dog that I originally ordered. Since I didn't get my hot dog that's the outcome of my scoring. Atleast I didn't give it a lower score. I didn't even wanted the burger nor the sandwich. I was craving a hot dog. Oh well! Maybe next time again which I doubt it. My party did like what I ordered. They said it was good. The place has outdoor seating.

Even after several years, this burger joint is one of the BEST. Their beyond burgers are exceptional, almost better than their beef patties. My favorite is the blueberry burger! Highly recommend stopping by whenever in Alameda.

Menu for food truck
Veronica L.

Triple B burger with blue cheese, bacon, and blueberries was definitely a huge burger with unique components. It took a long time to get from their food truck at Almanac but it was good and I liked the sweet and savory combination. Their fries looked pretty cooked through so decided to skip that.

Ask the Community - Scolari's Good Eats

What is the current menu? Last time I went it changed but don't remember the changes.

Unfortunately, I failed to take a picture of the menu when I was there. However, I did have Fish Tacos that were absolutely delicious. When I looked at the other menus that were posted, I couldn't find them anywhere.…

Do they have GF buns? And no, lettuce is not a bun. :) Thanks!

Nope. They will do lettuce and the lettuce is a nice butter but no buns and nothing else here is gf sadly.

Do they serve the Impossible burger?

Yes !

The order took some time since there was only one person working. I liked the citric hot more than regular. The regular lacked flavor, was very dry, and reminded me of a chicken tender sandwich. I was not a fan of the thousand island sauce as it got boring pretty quickly but I used a side of that to dip the regular sandwich in since it was so dry and bland. I actually haphazardly stumbled upon this place a few months back after hanging out at a brewery…read morenext door. After scoping out the vibes of the place and the menu, I told myself to make sure to give this a shot. The place is in a redeveloped corner of Alameda right next to the bay. Probably used to be Navy base grounds back in the day. But now there's a couple of blocks worth of hip warehouse-y type of buildings, mostly restaurants, beer spots, some lofts and a little retail commerce. Very happening even though the surrounding area is a ghost town. Dining area not too big, maybe a couple of rooms that can hold about 20-30 heads each. Think there's another room for a private party/overflow. Decor pretty minimalist and stark. Service on the upscale side but in my stay, matched the decor, very minimalist and stark. Efficient enough but a little terse with little emotion. But I know service personality can differ from time to time or person to person. Just my obsy for one out. Daily Crudo ($20/4*) I think this rotates daily. Our choices that day was hamachi or a house smoked sturgeon. The sturgeon really piqued my interest but then it really wouldn't be a 'crudo' anymore would it, since I relate crudos to something 'raw-ish'. So I chose the hamachi. Very pretty plating, I love symmetry and balance. The thin slices of hamachi were indeed fresh, sitting in a stealthy pool of yuzu and olive oil. There are some fresno pepper slices and microgreens that garnish and a delicious nori cracker to break and accompany the crudo. This went really well with my glass of Fume Blanc. Caeser ($17/4.5*) We split this salad as their version sounded super cool. A miso-tinged Caeser dressing, lots of rustic garlic croutons and feathery soft grated parm and a soft-boiled egg. I love properly made Caesers and this was one of the best and unique versions I've ever had. The umami punch and the diverse textures just hit with me. A tad salty for a salad, but the crunchy and refreshing lettuce was able to absorb the salt blast. Huge salad too, like ideal for splitting and ridiculously large if for 1. Beef Short Rib ($43/4*) This was on special that night, and since I wasn't feeling Steak Frites (their only other beef entree option) this kinda fell on my lap. Very heavy and hearty dish. The short rib part was impeccable, super tender, gotta be sous vide. Perfectly seasoned with braising elements completely penetrated into the meat. There was a coarse gravy/sauce that covered which was okay, may have been the braising liquid just pureed. Served atop a huge pile of some risotto that I didn't inquire about. This risotto is what made the dish especially heavy. I ate most of it and it put me in a heavy carb coma. Lol. But there was a nice serving of perfectly cooked broccolini which helped balanced out the rich beef and carb heavy risotto. Chocolate Bar ($13/4.5*) Shared this for dessert as I really couldn't take more than just a few bites after the filling entree. But was this impressive, like high end dessert quality. Whoever does the desserts here definitely has some pedigree. The precision cut bar consisted of 3 layers. A brownie layer; a Bailey's mousse; and a salted caramel layer. I was loving the texture of all the different layers playing on one another. And every flavor was distinct without being overly sweet, which hit the right chords with me. A thick ganache garnished off to the side, which was good but just seemed a bit overkill with the already chocolate dominant bar. I think a cream element would have been a better contrast instead of rich chocolate on rich chocolate. But very minor quip on an otherwise skillful dessert. I finished the last few sips of my glass of Rhone with this dessert, and it left me one happy camper. I would definitely return as their style with flavors hits an accord with me. A little French, a smidge of Japanese and a lot of California. Rounding to a fiver, as this place made me more happy than not.

The fresh pasta with the fresh English peas in the carbonara sauce was so light and flavorful. The duck was crispy and moist. The salad was gorgeous with edible flowers sprinkled in. It was just a treat all the way around. Thanks so much. Heather

We were the only party in the restaurant. The menu is extremely interesting, with a focus on slow-roasted meats and a California-Japanese fusion to many elements of their dishes. Because we were a party of five, we were able to try a lot on the menu, with some recommendations from the owner: - Corn fritters: Recommended by the owner, who said they're a best-seller. They were delicious and served with strawberry jam. Moist but with a bit of crumble and crumb. I could've eaten the entire plate myself. - Rotisserie cauliflower: With miso butter and furikake. My husband really wanted to try this. It was good, and he really loved it, but it wasn't a standout dish for me. - Trip's triple: 1/4 chicken, pork shoulder, and tri-tip all on a plate with chimichurri and garlic-jalapeño garum on the side. All of the meat was cooked so well, and the sauces were just delicious. This was a really generous serving of meat; my husband had to take some of it home. - Tsukune sando: Two tsukune (chicken and pork) patties with shredded lettuce, fried shallots, Hapa sauce, and a fried egg. I'm not sure what the Hapa sauce was and didn't ask, but this sandwich was just delicious. The patties were great and this is the first time I've tried tsukune. This was a messy sandwich, so I ate it with a fork and knife, but it didn't impact how tasty it was. I can't remember the dishes my in-laws got, but everyone was really happy with their food and what they couldn't finish, they made sure to take home. However, there's always room for dessert, and we went wild and decided to try all four of them. - Butter mochi: coconut butter cake. This was a table favorite. Rich, moist, delicious, and very unique. - Banana pudding: I'm a fan of banana-based or flavored anything, and this was fantastic. Loved the caramelized banana on top. - Choco PB torte: Definitely the richest dessert of the four. This is perfect if you're a chocolate fan. - Apple crumble: Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Warm and spiced. So good. I honestly can't wait to go back to Spinning Bones. This was a fantastic meal from start to finish and our service was great.

Shiso Highball: Shiso infused shochu, lemon, ginger beer. Nice and refreshing on a warm day. Corn Fritters: Sweet yellow corn, rice flour, strawberry jam. This was the finest corn-fritter I had since GA and LA. It was so good and highly recommended to order. Mochiko Chicken: fried chicken nuggets, ginger, soy, aioli. Well cooked as well but very close to kaarage and would not get it again. Three Little Pigs: Rotisserie pork shoulder, St. Louis ribs, garlic sausage, tossed greens, pickled jalapenos, BBQ sauce, garlic-jalapeno garum. A little bit of everything pork. The sides are well done as well as the meat, the only thing not so great was the Ribs but I smoke them at home and am used to a stronger taste on them and more tender. Pepper Beef: Tri-tip, chimichurri, umami salt, pickled cabbage slaw, scallions. My kids loved this and destroyed it.

Since moving to the neighborhood earlier this year, I have walked past TrueBurger quite a few times on my way to/from the 19th Street BART Station, and I was excited to give it a try. I was initially thinking I would get a burger, but my friend had to postpone getting together until the mid-afternoon, so I ate lunch at home and opted for a milkshake when we met a couple hours later. I had seen a special coconut shake on the menu on the TrueBurger website; I'm a big fan of most things coconut, and especially ice cream. I was eager to taste the shake...and my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I realized it was just a vanilla shake with shredded coconut. Why is TrueBurger trying to pass this off as a coconut shake? It's far less novel, but it's perfectly acceptable to only offer vanilla and chocolate shakes. The mix-ins actually put them one step ahead of much of the competition, but misleading customers is never okay. To add insult to injury, I have tried reaching out to TrueBurger via email, and management is incredibly unresponsive. They could have easily fixed this by offering me a refund or asking me to come back in for a shake on the house. Do better, TrueBurger.
