You really can't beat the setting in here. Ever changing depending on what the exhibition is at the time. The huge glass window that opens out into the street is great too as it always adds variety to your meal/coffee so if you eat alone you will not be bored... If you eat with a boring person you will not be bored. I went for the salad to counter all the Guinness I have been drinking, this gut is looking so sexy. I ended up drinking more Guinness that night though... This long goodbye is becoming epic. Delicious! Parma salad with mozzarella, dried tomatoes, black and white olives, spinach and rocket leaves and the dressing was perfect. Nice and light and just the right amount. It also came with a side of French bread. Service was efficient and friendly. Coffee was fine and the sparkling water came in a nerdy bottle that gave the chemical formula... The place is a bit expensive, but it's nice. It's close to campus which is helpful, and they have a good array of food, and they were able to put my cold chicken sandwich on the grill to make it hot. I was happy. The Hot Chocolate wasn't very good, but it did have strawberry marshmallows. The waitresses are nice, but it's funny to watch them: they all leave their top buttons on their blouses open (for better tips I assume). I was a bit surprised to see so much flesh lol. Really good food here and the staff are very warm and helpful. It's a bit expensive and the seating isn't very comfortable but it's a nice space in a great location all the same. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch or takeaway coffee, pastries, lunch. read more

I came here for lunch and it was pretty packed, but we managed to get a seat on one of the long tables. The menu seems to change often, but I ordered the smoked salmon salad board (€10) and a mushroom soup (€5) which were both pretty good, I loved the mushroom soup but the salad as ok at best. It didn't really feel like it was worth 10 euro, but the soup was very big. The overall prices were fairly reasonable, not too different from any other cafe in the city really, with most things being around €8-10. My mom ordered a chicken baguette which she said tasted great! There was good choice on the menu overall; they had 4 different soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta, dumplings, soup noodles, pizza etc. The coffee was alright, not coffee shop barista standard but not too bad either. The idea of pushing the button to order was pretty cool, although because it was so busy they didn't really notice after even pushing it 3 times, so we just had to wave. The waiter was nice and friendly, but one of the waitresses was a bit too cold and not very polite. Another thing was that it's quite busy and noisy around 1pm, but it started to quieten down a bit at around 1:30~. The location and the crispy white interior of the cafe was very nice, and I loved the big windows which make it really bright with a modern feel. The cafe is right next to the gallery which sells some cool books and gizmos about science, design, fashion etc. They seem like they would made great gifts or even souvenirs! This cafe is in an excellent location. I know I will be back as the Science Gallery Rocks!! The service was great, they brought everything down to the table after I had ordered and paid. The tables also have call buttons, gas. The coffee was fine, but the carrot cake I ordered was frankly not very good. Dry cake and the huge amount of icing was not adding anything at all to the experience. I would avoid it next time to be honest. I don't think I'd give the other cakes the benefit of the doubt either. But that said, it is a great place to at least sit and have a coffee. read more

Chicken mustard with gherkin in a white baguette! So good and the salad was just perfect! Not too greeny or too saucy either! The price was around 10 euros with a latte and a piece of chocolate cinnamon cake! The portions are big I had the other half of the sandwich to go. I got a take-away lunch here, as I'm a busy Trinity student!;) Got the mackerel and pickled cucumber baguette...not for the faint-hearted!!lol But I love mackerel and pickles do I really liked this. And I was pleasantly surprised with the bread, not a normal baguette but a nice floury ciabatta-like baguette. Came with a nice lil cup of greens in an olive oil dressing. It's normally €5.50, but mine was €4.95 probably cos it was take-away. They do pizzas here too so will come back for that in the future!:) read more

The Science Gallery is the hub of Pearse Street. I love the buzz in here, and the diversity of your fellow diners - men in suits, students with backpacks and local office workers. The lunchtime soup deal is great value provided you get there before its all sold out! The hot chocolate isn't great, but I'm told the coffee is pretty good, roasted in Dublin by Cloud Picker Coffee Roasters - you can buy individual bags of their beans to take home with you too. I love the opens of the space, with the long central shared table, all sorts of conversations going on, deals being made, friends catching up! I only wish they had more vegetarian options, because it seems to be a (misguided) widely held belief that vegetarians love goats cheese. I love their generous pots of herbal tea however, and their pizzas are good to share! The tables offer plenty of space to hold a meeting, or catch up on some study. After you've enjoyed a leisurely lunch you can go wander around the current exhibition, or mooch around the gallery shop and pick up some cool stationary or a quirky book. read more

It's on the pricier side - coffee and pastry will set you back 5 euro. Their pastries however tend to be on the enormous side and are possibly the result of dubious pastry-growing experiments. Similarly their lunches are a bit more expensive that other cafes, but they're very good. The food and service is pretty great. My favourite thing they do is Stewp, which is a cross between stew and soup (yeah I know, I thought that was just stew). Sometimes they're off the traditional variety but sometimes they have things like green chicken curry stewp. I haven't had a bad one yet, and as the days are getting colder I seem to be getting them more and more regularly. One thing to note is that they do tend to run out by about 1.15, so you need to be early! read more

Really nice, fresh cafe. The service is great - love the idea of the button! Although they can get very busy, the service is always so prompt! The coffee is really nice too, and the hot chocolate! I have only had the food once, but I really liked the presentation, and it was nice. The setting is really cool, I love the science gallery itself. So awesome for a mosey around during breaks from college! I also sat there for almost 2 hours one Saturday, as I was sticking around while my brother attending coder dojo upstairs. I was just studying away, and the staff left me to it which I was really impressed with. I would have moved for sure if it was in anyway busy, but it wasn't and I really like that the staff didn't mind my presence there. read more

I live two minutes away from the science gallery and this is my favourite place to start the day. I love coming here for a coffee and croissant and having a read of the paper. The coffee is really good, they use Barn Berlin and the staff are really friendly. I have yet to come for lunch but I have heard good things and the menu looks delicious. I really like this place. the staff are friendly and always offer to bring your order to your table. they don't mind how long you hang orotund and take in the surroundings. and since this is part of the science gallery the surroundings are always fun and different, incorporating the theme of whatever the current exhibition is. Super good food and fun atmosphere and perfect before or after visiting the exhibit and gift shop area. I got the lunch box which is the daily soup or stew with a grilled ham and cheese sandwich and a piece of fruit. I got the veggie stew which had a tomato soup base so it was perfect with the grilled sandwich. The stew was a great tasty way to get some veggies after a week of mostly fish and chips. Husband's pizza was slightly too big for one person but the best pizza we've had in Ireland- only had one other in Galway and it was a close second. The crust, cheese and pepperoni were exactly as they should be. Service was fine, we didn't quite understand the button thing and we got there right before a lunch rush so it wasn't too long of a wait. read more
