SO, for my first pair of progressive lenses eyeglasses, I opted for a local, independent eyeglass shop with a good reputation and a selection of stylish frames. Amanda made me feel at ease right away. Even after I warned her that I may be the most indecisive person when it came to picking out glasses, she attended to me with warmth and attentiveness, while also giving me time and space to try on as many pairs I wanted to and taking photos of each pair so that I could get input from my style-savvy advisors (who don't live close enough to come to the store with me). There is a wide selection of frames and lenses for every budget, and I especially appreciated that they were very knowledgeable about different technologies. There was no pressure at all to buy one product over another, or any product, for that matter. Amanda laid out all of my options, answered my questions (some of them multiple times, because it's a lot to take in!), and Mita weighed in on her experience with the particular lenses she wore. It was like shopping with trusted friends and family. I ordered 2 pairs of glasses (regular and sunnies) on a Tuesday afternoon and they were ready for me by Friday of the same week.

PUBLIC STATEMENT - International Optical…read more On 22 April 2026, I had a rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact lens exam at International Optical. After the exam, I was told I would only receive my prescription if I purchased lenses directly from the provider. When I refused, I was denied my prescription, pressured into a $700 rigid contact lens, and told I would no longer be accepted as a patient. My $200 exam fee was refunded, and the service was terminated instead of providing my prescription. I was also denied access to my medical records. This situation raises serious concerns under the FTC Contact Lens Rule, which protects patients' right to receive their prescription after an eye exam regardless of purchase. I have filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Massachusetts Attorney General. Patients should not be forced to purchase products to receive their own prescription. -- Patrícia Pesarolo

I can't say enough good things about Lunette. First off, I love my optometrist, Dr. DeLee. I have seen her 2 years in a row now. As for their eyewear, yes, they are expensive because they sell luxury eyewear. The assistant manager (Stacy) spent a lot of time finding the right pair of glasses that looked good on me and fit me well. She never made me feel pressured and was patient with me while I visited other stores before making my final decision. In addition, I had brought a pair of progressive glasses that I bought 6 months ago from For Eyes that I never had liked because I couldn't see well through them. Stacy immediately determined that the lenses weren't properly fitted and she fixed them for me! I am so glad that I used Lunette for my recent progressives. Not only did I get beautiful Chanel frames, the lenses are far superior than the lenses in my older 2 glasses. Significantly better! I will definitely continue using Lunette for my exams and eyewear!

When I arrived, I discovered I had even more paperwork to fill out. A closer look at the paperwork was an explanation of additional charges (in addition to the ones they had last year, I felt like I was buying a car).. and even a request for additional medical insurance.. for an eye exam. I signed my paperwork, brought it to the desk where a nice man named Logan grunted at me, letting me know they would be with me in a bit. I sat, and I sat, and then I left. As I was driving back to work, my phone rang and it was Logan, he was letting me know that they were finally ready for me. I mentioned that I had to get back to work as the first person to see me would be an assistant, and I wouldn't see a doctor for another 30 minutes and we were already really late. I mentioned to Logan,. I was 15 minutes early, I spent 10 minutes filling out all types of paperwork so Dr. Lickteig could make his money, and I asked, where is the respect for my time? Logan hung up on me. Good for Logan, he showed me! I can promise I won't interrupt his busy day ever again :). This is a cheap option for eye care bolted onto a LensCrafters.. if you have the time and ALSO a medical insurance card, you should be good - Just remember, a doctor who spends so much time focusing on your billing, doesn't hold your health and welfare as a top priority.

Guessing the insurance will not cover because it is totally unnecessary and just a money grab. When I scheduled my appointment I did not agree to the optomap and they would not honor my appointment. Scammers!
