I have been going to LensCrafters and Lickteig Eye Care for a few years and the doctors, once you finally see them are nice. Today I was navigating a very busy day and left work early to be at my appointment 15 minutes early. When I arrived, I discovered I had even more paperwork to fill out. A closer look at the paperwork was an explanation of additional charges (in addition to the ones they had last year, I felt like I was buying a car).. and even a request for additional medical insurance.. for an eye exam. I signed my paperwork, and brought it to the desk where a nice man named Logan grunted at me, letting me know they would be with me in a bit. I sat, and I sat, and then I left. As I was driving back to work, my phone rang and it was Logan, he was letting me know that they were finally ready for me. I mentioned that I had to get back to work as the first person to see me would be an assistant, and I wouldn't see a doctor for another 30 minutes and we were already really late. I mentioned to Logan,. I was 15 minutes early, I spent 10 minutes filling out all types of paperwork so Dr. Lickteig could make his money, and I asked, where is the respect for my time? Logan hung up on me. Good for Logan, he showed me! I can promise I won't interrupt his busy day ever again :). This is a cheap option for eye care bolted onto a LensCrafters.. if you have the time and ALSO a medical insurance card, you should be good - Just remember, a doctor who spends so much time focusing on your billing, doesn't hold your health and welfare as a top priority. read more

I agree with the other five-star reviews that make a point of saying that LensCrafters is overpriced. Yes, you'll pay a pretty penny for getting a pair of glasses. But that's okay. I tend to cut someone slack on price as long as: 1. The employees don't climb deep into my rectal corridor pushing additional services. (Looking at you, entire dental industry). 2. They are providing me with something I couldn't possibly make myself. I refuse to even try to fix minor problems on existing, functional frames because I might cock it up so horribly, I have to buy new frames anyway and now my boss has joined my dentist in my crowded anus because I can't work. 3. The product or service fulfills its purpose. The glasses last for a long time. All you have to do is take common-sense precautionary measures like not trying to make love on top of them and clean them after workouts. 4. They don't act like they saw my face on the DEA's Most Wanted list. Enough people think I work for the cartel since I started shaving my head. Every LensCrafters satisfies #2 and #3. But only this branch excels at #1 and #4 as well. I have come in for tune-ups several times and each time, regardless of who was on duty, I was helped by someone knowledgeable, friendly, and informative. They helped me understand the issues I was there to get fixed and how to prevent them in the future, if applicable. They took one look at whatever issue I had and fixed it before I could even finish the anecdote that caused the problem. The employees at this LensCrafters act like they work for a whole different company than, say, the Cambridgeside Galleria folk, who all act like they have Dengue fever. There is nothing I hate more, than a liar. I went in there to buy a set of prescription frames and to use my frames benefit on my vision plan. They told me that they will not sell me a pair of frames against my frame benefit, because it was not allowed. I chose this Lenscrafters because it is ridiculously close to my house. My plan was to roll out of bed on Saturday, stop at the sbux at station landing and head over here for 11am appt. I was 15 minutes early. My plan was seamless! The plaza it's located it, is surprisingly busy at this time of day. I was very aware of that as I waited to take a spot from somebody right out front, as they left. The building looks like a company that is going out of business. Empty, and looked cold. There was one other person waiting with me for an eye exam the whole time. Paperwork was easy to fill out, and pre-screening done by one of the ladies behind the reception desk was quick and painless. Both these ladies were nice and welcoming, without being obnoxious. Which, is clutch when I am only half way through a cup of coffee. The whole place is totally SILENT! No music, nothing! Which is not a great choice, also I'd go insane if I worked here. Need some kind of background sound. Traffic heading to Wellington doesn't count. I was circled as soon as I got out of the exam and asked very aggressively if I was interested in buying glasses today. I decided not to feel bullied into buying anything and left. Boring day at work, boring review of a Lens Crafters location. Arguably the closest location to my house, I found myself here last winter as my beloved second set of eyes broke while I was home sick with the flu and I needed a replacement. The store itself is huge and pretty empty. Never really had to wait for service. Let me tell you though, the staff here sucks at adjusting your glasses, providing any kind of customer service, and they have little to no accurate product knowledge. They misquoted me pricing on replacement lenses, and the manager was super useless at giving me an adjustment this past weekend. I walked out saying I'd fix them myself. read more

I use LensCrafters in Medford for my and my daughter's glasses every year. I absolutely love the ophthalmologists on the clinical side and utterly adore the retail staff. One staff member in particular is always exemplary; Stephanie makes every visit absolutely perfect. She is kind, attentive, and very knowledgeable. She always makes an extra effort when we visit and makes us feel like our business is truly wanted and appreciated. My mom brought my daughter in to pick her glasses on the most recent visit, and Stephanie did an amazing job at making life easier for my mom. Ordered my sons glasses on Jan. 10th. Called on he 24th the store said they came in damaged. Called Feb. 5th still aren't in the store but on a "elevated" list whatever that means now they are saying estimated time Feb 18th but the women Amanda said that date might not happen either. So I paid this money and just keep getting answers that are vague. I can't cancel because then I have to start all over again and don't know how long that will take. Had to go back 3 times because they couldn't get my glasses done properly. They were going to charge me an additional $60 to change my frames to the proper ones. The ones I asked for in the first place. I instead asked for a full refund. I had no confidence that they would get it right the fourth time. The customer service here is really amazing. A Lenscrafters is a Lenscrafters, they're overpriced and factory built. This location doesn't carry Bvlgari frames, so could be perhaps missing other top names. For this, I would try Natick or Burlington. However, everyone that works here is SO helpful and friendly. I bought frames on Ebay because I refused to give up my favorite frames (that broke) (that are no longer being produced by Bvlgari) and Thi and Theresa are both 2 of the nicest associates that went through great lengths to help me doctor up my glasses to make them feel perfect. I also found the eye exam at this location to be seamless and everyone was nice. I have no issues about this location given that it is a chain glasses retailer. read more

I can't say that i'm happy at all this this place. I got an eye exam here and I got my glasses here as well about a year ago. The bad: 6 months afterwards, my glasses randomly broke and the arm fell right off. I dropped by to see if they could fix it. They could not. They didn't even try. The best offer I got from the manager was that I could "buy a new set of frames for 50% off". I dont' fucking think so. They sold me shoddy, overpriced glasses and do not stand behind their product. I didn't pay $400 dollars for these glasses (which I depend on) for them to only last me 6 months. Now I walk around with electral tape holding them together. Thanks. I also went there to get and adjustment and left out of frustration because the wait was too long. The good: The woman who originally helped be pick out my frames was very nice and patient with me. You beats me to review this piece. I used to be a LOYAL customer. Talking bout, I would coerce my friends and coworkers into getting their optical needs taken care of here. Then, over the years, the service kind of started to... suck. I mean, one time I was having a glasses EMERGENCY when some assholes (Pearle Vision) broke my glasses during a simple adjustment and I rushed to the only placed I trusted. Although they told me there was nothing that could be done to fix my glasses, which was quite obvious, they offered my a 50% discount on a complete new pair, frames AND lenses! They didn't have to do that. They just felt bad for me and knew I was in a jam. It was super nice and made me fall in love with these people. After I got my next pair of glasses which ended up being two pairs of glasses, I started to notice the overall decline in service. One of my pairs of glasses had to have the lenses replaced, twice. The other pair was fine, but every time I went to have them adjusted it seemed as if I was annoying the staff. Uhm, this is part of your job. Stop being a dick about it. The manager most of all was a terrific asshole. I am about due for an eye exam and a new pair of specs and I am definitely not going back to Lenscrafters. read more

If you want to go back and forth to get your glasses. Then this is your place. I went to get an exam for glasses and contacts. It was done nicely. I choose a frame and in few days got the glasses. I don't know what to say but it felt wired. whenever you move your eye you have to focus to try to see clearly. I went back. they said I might need to get rechecked. I did another exam. " oh the first time we gave you a slightly greater power" the doctor said. But now everything is going to be ok. I will ask them to redo your glasses. I ask what about the contacts. He said It should be ok. I got the glasses after being redone. They still feel wired. I went to another place and changed the lenses and it feel great. And I got a new prescription for the lenses also and they are fine. I would not go to lens crafters again. read more

I chose this Lencrafters because it's close to my house and work. I've had a pleasant experience with the eye doctor and his staff. They got me in quickly and ran all the important tests. The problem I have is with the lense center. I was sent over to that part of the store to order my new lenses. The woman said it would take 10 DAYS! to get my lenses in. I never heard of a place taking that long but I didn't complain. They were reading glasses and I could wait the 10 days. The tenth day came along and I hadn't heard from them. I called in to see if my lenses had arrived. The gentleman who worked their said, "It should have came in yesterday so that means we'll be getting it tomorrow." WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO TODAY? I don't recommend getting lenses at this Lens Crafters. I gave the 2 stars to the eye doctor and his staff. read more

I need to make the distinction that the optometrist was good and very professional. However, when walked to the store, which it is of the same business, to purchase my prescription glasses, the people were very dismissive. The lady (sales person) made me wait for about 10 minutes while she was with another customer, suddenly she disappeared, knowing I have been waiting for her, I thought she went to the bathroom, so I waited a bit longer, until she finally came out and walked besides me and left the store without saying one word. Excellent customer service. My wife and I went in to see if they could repair a pair of sunglasses and adjust another pair of eyeglasses, both of which were purchased at a different retailer. The assistant manager - I think her name was Stephanie - greeted us and brought the glasses to their techs. We fully expected to pay a service fee since we did not purchase either pair of glasses there, but she told us not to worry about it and that it would be complimentary. Sherri was phenomenal and did not even hint towards a concern of us spending money. In fact I did not purchase anything... Ms. Sherri not only repaired the missing nose piece BUT replaced the opposite side with a matching piece! I had taken these frames to 6 /7 locations, over the past 8 months and had only gotten them temporarily fixed, been told 'that style nose piece doesn't exist anymore', 'sorry, we can not help you', and 'take them back to your optometrist' many many times... but not Ms. Sherri - her response was "Let's see what we can do." Walked in to the Wellington Circle store today. Greeted immediately. Asked if they take VSP insurance. Replied Yes. I asked for assistance in getting frames as my eyes were Dilated and I need a large frame. Stephanie showed me one pair of Frames and said to look for the 55. Very difficult with dilated eyes. I did find to frames I liked so she check my insurance, got an authorization and gave me the Price. I asked if that was correct cause it seemed high and she said it's what the insurance says. I put them on hold went to All Eyes @ Stations Landing. I chose a more expensive frame and Lens and it was the same price as Lens Crafters. Found out Lens Crafters is an out of network center so I did not get Fully What my insurance pays. She should have told me when I questioned her about the Price after Insurance. I had such a horrible experience here that it made me INCLINED to join this site to give a horrible review. I went there yesterday looking for a pair of rx sunglasses under the information that I was given that it takes "about 3 hours" to make the lenses. I tried to purchase a bottle of cleaner and a cloth to clean my glasses... the sales girl (she wasn't there today, a short red headed young girl) couldn't even ring them out with a coupon WITH her managers help. I left without the two items because of after waiting 30 minutes for less than 10 dollars of merchandise was sort of ridiculous. So today I come in a little after noon-time... Only to hear my glasses had NOT even been tinted yet, only 19 hours after the order was made, BY the manager Anthony. I proceeded to ask disappointed overall in their "customer" interaction with me if he could simply RING me out for the cleaning supplies after twenty minutes the general manager took over professionally handling the situation while "Anthony" hid in the back. I would not recommend this store to anyone with a general understanding of common sense and customer service. Maybe its just me, but I would have preferred competent salespeople working on my prescription. read more

I've had both a positive experience and negative experience at this Lencrafters so I'm not sure how I feel about it. About a year or two ago I went to find a new pair of specs; stylish ones that I could wear every day and not just inside the house. Lenscrafters has so many options and since I am so indecisive, I was relieved to be helped by a super friendly and patient employee (her name was Kathy if I recall correctly, she was terrific!). I ended up loving my glasses and declared that I would go back there for my next pair! But thennnn a few months ago I brought my mom to get glasses and I was just disgusted by treatment by one of the employees. Unfortunately I don't remember her name, but she was short and had short black hair. She was rude and was not receptive to our requests and preferences. Kathy was with other customers at the time, so we couldn't get her help. But before we left I saw she was free and I needed to get my glasses adjusted so I asked her to help me. Sadly even her friendliness couldn't cheer me back up from the awful service I had experienced. Lame. read more

Sherri, the LensCrafters manager, provided top notch service shortly before Christmas, when I brought in my wife's broken frames. While I somewhat expected a hard sell to a new set of lens and frames, Sherri patiently and diligently searched for a cost effective solution to the problem: a new set of frames that could be made to fit the lenses (purchased elsewhere). This was terrific service that solved my problem (that did not necessarily have a guaranteed solution) in a cost-effective manner. Went with a friend to have her glasses fitted and figured I'd have my raybans done as well the lady heated them up tried to mold them and shattered the lense then said oh that's why we say we're not liable for them upfront which she never said anything about because she was too busy talking about the intersection outside and how crazy people drive so now I'm out a pair of nice sunglasses because she acted like it was my fault for not telling her they're real glass lenses. I'm not sure what's going on there but we bought two sets of glasses - prescription sunglasses and another Ralph Lauren pair totaling about $700. The sunglasses were ready in about an hour, but the other pair had to be sent out to Cincinnati, however the store forgot to send the frames. Long story short, what we were told was going to take 10 days, is not taking over two weeks. Unacceptable and they have not recourse to make things better except give a loaner pair. This is a follow-up to my previous review. Two weeks after the last contact, I phoned again to inquire about the possibility of actually getting the glasses. "Oh," said a spritely voice, "They're right here. We've had them here for four days." Why didn't they send them? They had me in to the Medford location to re-align my glasses and gave me an extra discount to use in a few weeks when I get my husband some glasses. I found out the woman who was very rude was leaving the company, and I caught her during her last week. She obviously had checked out of work beforehand. I am not a long time and experienced wearer of glasses. I was sold a nice pair of Burberry frames that were not the best fit (given that the temples began stretch out). The felt like they fit, but apparently the frames were not the correct size for my head. The lens that I purchased from them began to wear within 6 months. Some of the lens coating was scratched off. I was always placing my frames in the case, and did not rough handle them. In my opinion, the lens were low quality. What made the experience all the more annoying is that I visited another eye doctor and received great service which proved to me that I had been slighted at LensCrafters (at least at that store). Take-aways: Do your homework ahead of time. Make sure you understand the measurements for frames. Make sure you understand which lens and lens features are available. I hated the experience (which came to bear after my purchase) because I paid a lot of money for frames that were not the best fit (although they felt like they fit), lens that were trash, and I realized after the fact that the only other options presented to me for my lens and frames were protection plans. If you buy the type of lens that I bought (which I was given no other options for lens, so I imagine that is what they offer), I see why they push their protection plans, given what I have experienced. read more

I bought two new pairs of glasses here a few months ago and had a great experience. All of the staff were super friendly, helpful and patient with my indecision. Last week I took one pair in because I couldn't clean off what looked like a smudge on one lens. Sherri helped me out. She showed the lens to the lab staff. They didn't know what the smudge was, so offered to replace both lenses at no cost. My new lenses were ready in four days. I dropped off the frames and everything was done in 25 minutes.
