I love the original sandwich. But going through drive through they forgot my drink and chips and then this was my sandwich. Not even edible it had so much mustard and nothing else on it. So disappointing

Stopped in because i honestly always forget about this place. Just grabbed a sandwich and no sides or drink. Service was standard, nothing to rave about, nothing to complain about. The place was dead but a bit unkept, they could have had a rush and i just caught them in the process of the come down, not anything raising red flags. My sandwich was fair, again nothing to write home about, simple turkey sandwich with mustard. It hit the spot. I did forget about their bread, and it being the reason i don't eat there. It's like an English muffin which might work for a more breakfast or brunch sandwich but it didn't work for me. I might try it without the bread or see if they have other bread options if i go back.

One of the best and most entertaining experiences at a fast food sandwich place in a while for me. Kimia M. and I were originally going to go through the drive thru, but as good yelpers we know you need to eventually do both to give enough feedback for every business on Yelp. We ended up getting and sharing three small sandwiches. They cut the sandwiches in halves, making it easy to share or to save for later. The first one I got was The Original. It consisted of ham, salami, cheeses, lettuce, tomato, mustard, olives and their signature sauce on a sourdough bun. I don't eat a lot of carbs, but this bread was amazing! The next one I tried was Kimia's favorite, which was the Fiesta Chicken. It came with chicken, cheese, olives, roasted peppers, chipotle mayo (heavenly), lettuce, and tomatoes. It was served on a jalapeno cheese bun which I loved. It was like cheesy bread. Midway through eating, Kimia mentioned how a good pickle completes a sandwich. I said I would get us some. I went up there, didn't see anywhere on the menu where they can be purchased as sides or anything and asked the cashier for some. They were delicious. I always love these deli spears compared to the ones you get out of the jar at Wal-mart. Last but not least, the cashier and staff were some of the friendliest workers I've seen in a while and what secured a five star review.

Good food - slow service - not as clean as some stores. That's all I can remember for now.

I selected Kool Korner Sandwiches because sadly the main spot to get a good Cuban in Huntsville closed a few years ago, so it seemed like an opportune time to get that craving met. The location is a little nondescript and hard to see from the street (at least the way we came), but there's ample parking. Stairs lead up to a small front area (few chairs and tables for outside dining) and then into the somewhat dimly lit restaurant. It seemed clean inside and I liked the relative straightforwardness of their menu: sandwiches, a few soups, and some odds and ends like tamales, empanadas, and pastelitos. Counter service was exceedingly friendly and attentive to our orders, ensuring we got exactly what we wanted and offering to remove any topics we found offending. I got the chicken sandwich, while my mom got a traditional Cuban while my dad tried the medianoche sandwich. Most sandwiches (save the medianoche, which is served on sweeter egg dough bread) follow the standard Cuban toppings of cheese, mayo, mustard, and pickles on Cuban style bread; the main differentiator is your protein of choice. We were all very happy with our sandwiches. We each got regular size with chips; the full thing was plenty for me and my parents both saved half of each of their sandwiches for later. I tried a bite of each sandwich and they were all delicious in their own way. The cheese and mayo make it nice and gooey, but the bread, mustard, and pickles really make the sandwich -- such a distinct and delicious combination. None of the meats were dry, not even the chicken, and the bread was so nice and crispy (or soft, in the case of the medianoche). Although I definitely enjoyed my sandwich, I think the Cuban and medianoche were a little bit better -- I guess they're classics for a reason :) I just tend to not eat a ton of pork, but that's on me lol. I will say I didn't really care for their chip selection. It was mostly a combination of Voodoo and Golden Flake chips. I probably would've gone Voodoo if they'd had a standard flavor available, but they didn't, so I wound up with Golden Flake. I know that Golden Flake originated in Birmingham so I guess you gotta represent, but unfortunately I just don't really like the way their chips taste. I also ordered a cream cheese and guava pastelito for later. They forgot to bring it out with our meals but rectified it quickly when I went to ask about it before we left and gave me a to-go box with it. It was deliciously flaky and the guava was so yummy. I wished for a teeny bit more cream cheese but all in all it was a treat! Overall, a highly enjoyable experience here! I'd love to try some of the other "extras" like the empanadas and tamales, and of course I'd return for another sandwich too. :)
