We've eaten here several times and never had any issues. It's clean and the staff are always nice, especially to our kids and enjoy making them laugh. The food comes out fast and tastes good. Our kids love the pizza. The Newks Q sandwich is one of my favorite sandwiches and it's hard for me to get anything else. Most of the time I'll get chips with it, but sometimes I'll upgrade to the mac and cheese as a treat. My wife switches it up sometimes, but usually goes with their salad and soup combos. The Pick 3 option is a great deal! I was looking for something light yet filling for lunch, so I found myself at Newk's. I never visited this location before but anytime I'm near by , there's a steady crowd. During my recent visit here, I placed a TO GO order not using the kiosk. The gentleman working took his time making sure that he got my order correct. I really appreciated his thoroughness. I was provided my receipt and they called my name once my order was ready. Service was kind of slow but I did go around peak lunch time so that was to be expected. My food was fantastic!!! The half Italian ( no mayo), loaded potato soup and half Caesar were all so yummy! The Caesar dressing was some of the best I ever had. EVER!!! For whatever reason , I forget about Newks but I was pleasantly surprised with my recent visit!!! read more

I've never been to a Newk's Eatery but my son (who lives in the area) suggested it. There are lots of options, from salads, pizza, sandwiches, soups and so on. You order at the counter, make your own drinks and they'll bring the food to your table. I didn't get a photo, but there is a pretty big outdoor patio to sit at that seemed to be very popular on the day we went. They hand half and full size salads. (See photo for comparison in size) I got the full Greek salad with Greek dressing. It was very delicious! I noticed they had tossed it in the dressing before serving it. My Mom ordered a salad as well but requested her dressing on the side. So for anyone that doesn't want it pre-tossed in the dressing, I recommend specifying to put on the side. Another person in our party ordered a half salad and about 1/4 of the salad was all croutons. I enjoyed my visit here and would definitely go back! read more

I ate there today. The wait was long. My sister got her food before me. She finished about the time I got mine so she had to wait on me. That has happened twice. I let it go the first time but when it happened again I decided to talk to the manager. He apologized and said two other people had to wait too. I don't care how many people had to wait. We both ordered the pick 2 combo with a cup of Loaded Potato Soup (our favorite!), I got half chicken bacon club and my husband got half newks Q. This is the first time I have been to Newk's in quite sometime. I use to go to the Cahaba and Inverness locations but they both have closed down. I drove by the Hoover location and since I was craving it, decided to stop for a quick lunch. The food was delicious and exactly how I remember it. The Newk's Q sandwich was warm and the meat and sauce really compliment each other. The mac and cheese was cooked to perfection, along with the loaded potato soup. The portion size was great for what I paid for. The only thing that wasn't up to Newk's standard is the cleanliness of the restaurant. Finding a clean table to sit at has quite hard and there were only two other people in the entire restaurant, so it definitely was not busy inside. I could tell the tables had not been wiped down or sanitized. I know they just opened the indoor portion of the restaurant, so they may only be use to handling curbside pick up orders and may just have forgotten about the inside portion. read more

I must say I was super happy to see that Newk's had put their chicken noodle soup back on the menu. It has been a couple of years since I had it. They had took it off the menu for a while. Every time I will visit I would ask when they would be back and they never could give me a definite answer. I came on my lunch break today to grab a bowl of yummy chicken noodle soup and crackers. When placed my order online I requested crackers and when I arrived home none were in there. You can't have chicken noodle soup without crackers. I don't know if it's me.... it didn't taste the way I remembered. It tasted totally different. It was lacking flavor all the way around and you could count the noodles that were in my soup. Still reaping the benefits of birthday deals. So, Newk's was next on the list. I like Newk's but find myself visiting the location near UAB frequently because of the walking distance from work. I don't stray away from my fave which is the Newk's Q. Since I normally do the paring, that is my sandwhich choice and my other half may vary. I went in knowing that I wanted the tomato basil soup. Unfortunately, they did not have it. So, I decided on the Ceasar salad. My sandwhich with a extra side of sauce was delicious as usual. Fingers crossed that I am never disappointed. My salad was good as well. My meal was very filling which is always a good thing. The restaurant appeared very clean and the round table was well stocked with parmesan cheese, pickles, napkins and plenty of bread sticks. Oh and the cashier and the person who gave me my food to go were very nice. I like the use of clear containers because you can give your food a once over without having to open several boxes. On the 'spare of the moment', my son invited us to meet him & his family at Newk's for lunch. Having a very strict time frame to eat within, he picked Newk's; because he said, "Dad, let's eat at Newks! They will take our order quickly, prepare the food almost as fast, & we can have a great meal, then we can be on our way!" (They were traveling thru our town on their way to the beach for a family Thanksgiving). When I arrived, his family was already seated & had their food....WOW! I really was shocked at how quickly they were served b/c the restaurant was packed. My wife & I placed our orders with a very sweet & pleasant young lady who was very kind & accommodating. Our food was, in my opinion, equally delivered in an amazing time frame! I had the Newk's Q sandwich & loaded potatoe soup... both new orders for me that were absolutely delicious! My wife had the Newk's salad & she (unlike her) ate the entire salad & said it was very tasty & fresh! She made the comment, that she "would love to get the recipe for both the salad & its dressing"! While the restaurant was almost completely filled at the time, the staff waited on us & delivered very delicious, fresh, & incredibly tasteful food as if we were the only people in the restaurant! Everyone was very polite, courteous, kind, & helpful as we were serviced in a very friendly & professional way!!! I greatly recommend this Newk's in Hoover, Al as the environment was pleasant, very clean, & obviously very well managed with wonderfully trained employees! Ordered from Newks.com and this location for the first time tonight...and it will be the last time. We didn't have time to eat before work tonight, so someone suggested Newk's because they deliver. So I got online and created an account and placed an order for 3 employees at work. Delivery is apparently through Door Dash. Deliver was prompt and driver called to let me know when she at the front. No issue with the deliver. We ordered a: soup and salad, soup and bread, and a sandwich and coleslaw. Not received in the order were the bread and the coleslaw. I called the store directly and spoke with a young man who said all he could do was have the food waiting for me to pick up. I told him this no acceptable as we are unable to leave work, which was why we had it delivered in the first place. I then spoke with the female manager. She offered a partial refund for the missing coleslaw, but she said the bread order did not come through. I told her a refund was not acceptable as we still needed food to eat tonight. She suggested a place another delivery order, but would not refund the delivery fee. I informed her that I would not pay for her mistake and have to pay another delivery fee. That was the only resolution she offered, so I got back online while she was on the phone, but delivery was closed. She said sorry, I can't help you then. I asked to speak to the GM or have their number. She refused to give me the GMs name or number. She stated she would give the GM my number and have her call me tonight. Never received a call. I did receive a partial refund, but that still left two employees hungry. We ending up going to Jimmy Johns to complete our orders. As for the food, I can't give a fair review because the customer service was so poor that it impinged my honest review. Will not use this location again. read more

I had my favorite Newk's Q chicken pizza today and it never fails to make me happy no matter which location I visit! Be prepared if you e never eaten at Newk's, it's not fast food McDonald's cheap. The sandwich was exceptional, despite some soggy leakage from the coleslaw. Price was iffy. Two large pairs, with bacon and egg added to one salad, and 2 large drinks came out to over $40! When the food came to our table, my girlfriend didn't realize that she didn't have her $4 extra bacon and egg added to her salad. Staff was very kind in working it out, though.
