There aren't many Schlotzsky's outside of Texas anymore so I always have to have one, as it reminds me of childhood and lunches during softball tournaments. Last couple times I've gone they didn't have my favorite, the Ruben but I had to get one anyways. Got the fiesta chicken and it was pretty good! Chipotle sauce and jalapeño cheese bread didn't have a ton of flavor but overall no major complaints. However something great I learned - the gentleman that helped us was the GM - so nice and so I decided to ask him when they got rid of the rye bread and he said they still have it and the Ruben. Apparently it's just not on the menu! Wish I had asked sooner - there's a lesson for me in that for sure! Restaurant is definitely dated and needs some TLC from their corporate office or whatever function helps with that. I hope they keep on trucking and are around next time I'm in town! read more

The bread I got today my service for my sandwich was extremely crumbly and dry. It seemed like very old bread.

Brooo!! 30 minutes in a drive-through with three cars in front of me is insane! While the food is pretty good, that is an absurd amount of time to wait when you get a limited amount of time for a lunch break. This location always has a long wait in the drive-through. While the staff are nice, it just makes no sense for someone to be able to come to get lunch here and any reasonable amount of time. I understand staffing can be an issue, but it's always something with this location, it's been this way for years. The Bastrop one is good, the ones in Austin are good. But something about this location is a mess. The driveway is absolutely awful, dodge the potholes or you may destroy a tire and rim. Great. Just driving through this little Texas town and was so hungry. Everything was great. Sandwich hot and yummy. Pizza gobbled up by the kid only to get to that Cinnabon which was delicious even at 6 pm. I would stop here again if driving through. Oh the person helping us was friendly and helpful. read more

I ordered the new Turkey Capri sandwich. I was disappointed. It wasn't made at all like it was supposed to be. It was listed to have pesto, bacon, turkey, red onions, red pepper, and banana pepper on it. I ordered it with no onions and it came missing banana pepper and red pepper and had onions. This place is super clean. Cleanliness is always a reassuring condition when you walk in an unfamiliar restaurant. It's also under new management which bodes well for future guests wanting Schlotzsky's wonderful sandwiches. My husband and I both ordered the "original" and they were delicious. I think Schlotzsky's sandwiches and flatbread pizza are the best in the business. The service was friendly and the sandwiches came out in short order. I really recommend this locale. read more

On 2/25/2025 after a softball game, around 7:45 pm I went to the Elgin location for the pick two, which I always get during lunch at this same location. When I walked up to the door it was locked, but clearly stated on the door open until 9, so I understand things happen and decided to go through the drive thru since I seen others at the drive thru. When I go to order I ask for the pick two (sandwich Original) and asked what soups they had, she said we stop serving soups at 7pm and so I was like, what else could I get and she said flat bread, huh! Why would I order flatbread and a sandwich, at this point I am done, mind you she does not try to make it right or even say another word to me. I sat there a few seconds realizing she is not coming back on, so I just drove off. This is the worst customer service ever. Do not waste your time going here in the evening. Never, ever eat here. I have been here twice. It's almost non-functional. BOTH times I went there, they lost my order and forgot me. My order took over an hour, in the store. I've been to some great Schlotzsky's, but this isn't one of them. We sat in the drive thru for a solid bit before someone came to the intercom. They forgot half of our order when we got to the window, took forever and a day for the food to come out. And then we get home and realized how stingy they are with the meat. I just had the worst experience at the Schlotzsky's in Elgin Texas. I went thru drive thru to order, first i waited in line, i was 3 car back. When it was time for me to order i placed it. Then the lady at the window asked if I could pull up and she would bring it to me , so i did. Then the man behind me came to my car and asked if i could pull up so he could get out so I did that also then I waited some more time and I finally went in ,and waited some more,all this time people were getting their food .They never offered me anything for my patience. This is the worst place in town. Ordered a salad, and this is how the avocado came out. I spoke to the manager who explained that "this is how we serve it every day, people eat it." "It looks like that when it sits out for a couple minutes." He told me he would being out another plate of avacado, on the round plate. It was the same way. It is great to have choices; other than burgers or fried "anything ". Lately, the choice has been lacking either ingredients or cost "balance". If we order a salad with strawberries-why no discount for lack of strawberries or avocados...I would gladly had appreciated another substitute or a discount. This has happened a handful of times and has become frustrating. I know supply and cost have been up & down, but we all have similar worries. We placed an online order today for pick up, when we arrived they didn't have the order ready and didn't even seem to know we had placed an order. We got home and they had forgotten to add the soup even though we got charged $6 for it. I would have loved to call and deal with them about it directly but every phone number I can find for that location is disconnected?? I drove in from another town, it would cost me $6 in gas just to drive back to see about getting a refund for the soup I never received. Won't be coming back. I love Schlotzsky's, but this restaurant is bottom tier. 2/4 visits they didn't have large bread, 1/4 they didn't have ANY bread because a "supply order issue." The avocados 1 time were completely spoiled, and another time they were just at the edible mark before they went bad. The restaurant itself looks like nobody cares about it, the signage is all old and sun bleached. No lights in the drive through. This most recent visit none of the bread was toasted? I understand Elgin doesn't have a whole lot of options, but avoid if possible. read more

We were passing through Elgin on a road trip and stopped here for a quick bite and we are so glad we did. While we were waiting for our food we asked Jo, the manager, if there were any places nearby to get Ice for our cooler, she immediately offered some of their ice to us which saved us a stop. If that wasn't enough, I asked her since I was driving if she could possibly cut my sandwich into quarters so I could easily eat it and she did it so quickly without hesitation. Ordered via drive thru because had issues with using online ordering at this location. Could not scan app to receive rewards had to scan receipt at home which did work. Sandwiches were tasty. Wow! Just don't come here they don't have salads and when you order them they get it wrong. I ordered 3 chicken cranberry salads and one of them came without chicken. The service was horrible there was none the manager didn't even care to apologize instead everyone went to the back to wait while they "made" my salads they took 20 min just to make 3 salads because they ran out of lettuce. I do not recommend coming here if you have little patience, the food comes out fairly slow compared to other fast/casual food here in Elgin. I do recommend trying their flatbreads or pizza if you do visit they are super good! I've been here a few times and the prices are not too bad, and drinks have lots of carbonation for those who like that. read more

Elgin is a black hole of dining options, unfortunately- and it's conditioned into the town to expect the worst version of everything. This location takes that concept and one ups it with a "hold my beer" of absolutely abysmal service. Rarely, if ever, will you receive your order correctly and when that happens you should expect to be treated rudely, as if it's your fault. They have to be making money hands over fists over the bags of chips ordered but not delivered - my current personal count is 3 bags. So disappointing because Schlotzsky's is good! The food is fine but it is like the roulette of restaurants- maybe you'll get the right food but probably not. Never going back here. read more

So.... having been born in Austin I have grown up on Schlotzsky's and have always considered it the best. I gave this location one star because I believe they are crooks. The last two times I have ordered a deluxe original they have rung it up as an original with extra meat. When the manager brought it to my table she even announced it as a Deluxe original but the receipt showed they charged me for an original with extra meat so they could squeeze a couple of extra bucks out of me. The first time they did this and the register operator explained they were trained to do that whenever someone ordered a deluxe. I explained to her about the deceptive trade practices act and she changed my bill to accurately reflect what I ordered. This time I decided to just take it to Yelp! read more

We went in on a Friday evening for dinner. We ordered and waited for 20 minutes for our food then I went to see if there was a problem. The young lady said it would be right out but it wasn't. We decided after 30 min we had waited long enough. We asked for a refund of our bowl of soup and salad. She said she would have to check and again we waited approx another 15 minutes. Another young lady came out, never looked at us and said I don't know how to give a refund. She proceeded to make a call, then she did something with the register and said "there is your refund." I called the location in Bastrop to make a complaint and was told the "manager" would call me back. I never got that call nor did we get our refund of 17.30. I called the corporate office and was told the owner would contact me, that never happened and again still no refund. We even went in the location in Elgin again a week later to ask the manager for our refund and was told there was no manager there. Bad service and they keep your money! Not good business practices. I will make a formal complaint with the BBB due to never getting our refund. read more

Ended up being 3 different orders because she was so impatient. We were the only ones in there and the tables were still dirty.
