Stopped by Scheels while at Chandler Fashion Center. My son and I were looking for a particular pair of Birkenstocks. We couldn't find it anywhere so decided to try our luck at Scheels. Spoiler alert, we didn't find it there either. However, we were pretty impressed with the store as a whole. Ssheels features 85+ categories including hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, biking, men's and women's fashion, team sports, and more. They carry popular brands like Nike, Under Armour, YETI, Traeger and more. The store was a bit overwhelming if I'm being honest. There's so much to see and do. That's a good thing, I guess. Everything seems well organized, but we didn't stay long enough to explore the entire store. There's something for everyone. I found that the prices were similar to other stores. Though we didn't find what we were looking for, the staff was very helpful. read more

Honestly one of my favorite big-box chain stores in AZ. The staff is super friendly, they have some of the most niche items to look at (usually things you'll only find online), and it's a good time to go there. Love the selection of men's clothing and their firearms section. Value is decent, but you're also not going to this store to get the best deal of your life. read more

My wife and I stopped in to check out baby strollers. We are expecting twins and have an 18 month old already, so three kids under two! Angelina walked up and offered us help immediately. We explained our need for different configurations. We also asked many questions which she had quick answers to, proving her professional knowledge. We only were able to stump her on one question where she was able to look up and give us the right answer. She had a great attitude and was very helpful. Angelina is a prime example of why in person shopping will always be better than online. Thank you Angelina! read more

Scheels is honestly one of the best things to come to Chandler!! There's so much to do as a low cost or free option with kids. A staple- especially during Arizona summers. They have men's, women's, kids clothing, outdoor stuff and a killer coffee shop. Among other things. Everytime we come the staff is so so polite & checks in on us. My child lives for the fish at the check out. Pro tip- if you have toddlers, find the playground!! It's comparable to like a chick fil a or McDonalds playground but so clean & endless fun. read more

This is an amazing sporting goods store. They literally have anything and everything you can possibly imagine. I even found a dog tag section and got a new tag for my dog. They carry high end merchandise. Their selection of grills and appliances is top notch and I found myself browsing throughout this store for a very long time. I was very impressed with their extensive shoe selection and sportswear. This is definitely the best sporting goods store I've been to. They also give you a military discount and the bronze statutes in front of the store is definitely worth a look. read more

Wow, Scheels has it all! We decided to take a day trip (45 minute drive) to Scheels because we heard it has quality entertainment for our family (2 under 2)...it did not disappoint! This second we walked in the door we were amazed by the grandiosity of it all. Not only does Scheels offer just about any sporting good/hobby you can think of, but their customer service and attention to detail is exceptional. The store is huge and laid out beautifully with their incredible Ferris wheel at the center of all the action. You can ride it for a dollar and see the whole store! The store offers everything; casual clothes, nice clothes, ice skates, roller blades, kayaks, bowling, legos, team sportswear, yard games, workout equipment, swim gear, guns and ammo, candy, supplements, grills, and all that encompasses in between. It's hard to think of something they don't have. The atmosphere is fun and the employees are wonderful. Each and every person we came across was extremely friendly, enthusiastic about their job, knowledgeable and hard working. We could not have been more impressed with the Scheels store and operation. The prices are fairly high, but I guess that's most places these days. I do believe that the products they sell are quality, and they do offer sales throughout the store. If you have a free day to check this place out and ride the wheel or just need a new baseball bat I recommend you go to Scheels. read more

Have heard alot of amazing things about Scheels sporting goods store. The store is located at Chandler Fashion Center. We went on a Saturday and it was packed. The outside is adorned with beautiful appropriate bronze statues. Lots of fun "Arizona" related selfie areas. As others have said everyone we encountered was friendly and polite. There's an aquarium at the front of the store and Ferris wheel. So much fun! We went into the cafe and got a cafe latte with almond milk. It was reasonably priced at $3.96. Super happy about that. They have lots of cool brands. Oakley, Costa , Travis Matthew, and other lesser known trendy brands. I could go on and on about it but you have to see it for yourselves. I did buy a sweater and some hand warmers for an upcoming trip. Definitely would recommend to check it out. read more

Scheels is one of the newest additions to the valley and is very welcomed! I've popped through a few times since it's opened, but today was the first time I really perused this mammoth of a store. It really has everything and I mean everything. A candy store, meat counter, deli, Ferris wheel, home decor, sports goods, dog goods, smokers, grills, local items, hunting and everything in between. It's a beautiful store and they really have thought of everything. All the excitement and following of Scheels, not to mention the time of year has kept it very busy and I don't foresee it slowing down. I didn't end up making any purchases, so I don't know the flow or speed of ringing out, but they seemed to have lots of staff and were prepared for such crowds. It's worth a visit and really a one stop shop! read more

This is more than just a sports store! I've been to one other location before in NV but this one is even bigger! There is literally something for everyone here and you could easily spend hours here. I've ordered from them online and their customer service is also really good. Based out of North Dakota, this is one impressive company! They have a wide selection of product and if you order online you can pick up in store. If you cant make it into the store, any online orders pull from the closest store that has inventory - shipping is super fast and efficient! Can't say enough positive about this place. read more

We went to the grand opening and had a blast with all of the extra stuff there was to do in the parking lot before the store was even open. We have previously been to Scheels in Reno, NV and Salt Lake City, UT, so we knew what to expect once we stepped inside. It is so awesome to finally have a location this close to us so we can go regularly. For those who have never been, many will tell you it is basically another Bass Pro or Cabella's, but to us it is so much more than that. Scheels has a mix of just about everything. Sure, they have plenty of hunting stuff and outdoors accessories, but they also have a rather extensive toy section, pet section, local university clothing/hats/etc., and a huge Ferris Wheel in the middle of the store. You just don't find these things at the other aforementioned spots. Going to the mall just took on a whole new level since you could literally spend days in Scheels and not see everything they have to offer. It is so much fun to shop here. They even have an aquarium feature on the columns when you walk into the store. Often, you'll see a diver in among the fishes. Love that the company is employee-owned, and they have a great social media presence, too. All of this talk about Scheels makes me want to head over now and grab some great food from their deli/restaurant area. Maybe we'll see you there. read more

This place is fantastic! I came here looking for a cap to keep my balding head out of the sun "lol" The parking lot is huge and there are some really nice statues in front of the store. When you in the first thing you see is a huge fish tank. The store it self is massive!! They have like 100 different styles of Stanley thermos cups, see pictures. You want guns, rifles, shotguns, ammunition, reload equipment, switch blades, moderators for your rifle? Yup they got it! Kayaks, jerseys, exercise, equipment, and a whole lot more!!! As I was walking around the store mesmerized by all the delights I was seeing an employee approached me and asked me if it was the first time in the store? To which I replied, yes. He said well then I would love to give you a free ball cap of your chose or a water bottle. I told him I would love to have a ball cap as I came in looking for one. He then ask my "brother from another mother" if it was his first time in as well? My friend said no but really wanted a Paul cap as well. The employee stated that unfortunately, he could not get a cap as it wasn't his first time in. So I stepped in and told him that the cap I was wearing at the time which said bass pros on it belong to my friend and the employee looked at my friend and said oh in that case you get a free hat too. lol!! After all was said and done he talked to employee for another 35 minutes or so just shooting the bull. He ended up giving me a free water bottle as well. I walked out of the store with a cap I needed for my head and I also bought some really really really good beef jerky. Sidenote, I must've been approached by at least six different employees asking me if they could help me in anyway?! As we walked out we we're watching a scuba diver inside the fish tank, cleaning it as I was taking his picture. He waved to me. When you walk in, there is a massive fish tank that serves as the arched entrance into the store. My husband was wondering how it was cleaned and then we saw someone in there cleaning it. It was very cool. While this is a sporting goods store, there's many other things to enjoy. There's a Ferris wheel, animal display, bowling, and a small cafe. We shared a pizza and it wasn't great but the scotcharoos were delicious. There were so many employees walking around and they all said hi and asked if you needed help finding anything. Service was super nice and friendly. Overall a very fun place to visit! Worth the drive for us west siders. read more

Wow, not as big as Bass Pro or Cabelas but I think packed with more stuff on the floors. Multi level outdoor, pet, hunting & sports store with ferris wheel, bowling, ranges, arcade shooting gallery and way more. Great prices and not cheap products. In addition to main stream North Face, Columbia etc. There are other good quality manufacturers that we normally don't see here in Arizona. Stuff I've only seen in Wyoming or NE. This is the first and only Scheels in AZ currently. It has only been open a week so the crowds are still super intense. While being super busy every single employee we encountered was super friendly and willing to help. They have all sporting/outdoor goods store rolled into 1 plus more. They had spots to test golf clubs, bats etc along with 2 bowling lanes and a Ferris wheel. Lots of clothes, for everyone, outdoor/sporting gear, bikes, firearms, home decor. You want it, they probably have it. With all that shopping you're sure to need something to drink or snack on and they have a coffee bar, jerky, fudge, candy etc. This store is super neat and we spent well over an hour and I still didn't feel like I saw everything. Wow!! All I have to say is WOW. This store is awesome. It is basically a Dick's, Cabela's, and Sportsman's all in one. The selection of products is MASSIVE. They have everything from clothes to camping gear. Not only do they have those things but they have an entire food court area with some stellar coffee and ice cream. For the kids there is this cool little Farris wheel. Everything seemed to be reasonably priced, but certainly a range. It's amazing here! Wow, I'm overtaken with shopping bliss! It's retail therapy maximized to the biggest potential and efficiency! Aisles and rows of fishing, hunting, swimming, and ALL sports related merch can be found here. The first floor focuses on clothing, shoes, shoes, and retail goods. They also have the café and candy shop. And the cups. Second floor they have more specific sporting goods and the pet section. They also offer the latest in high-tech sports peripheral offerings, in regards to baseball bats, and golf clubs. Try it out before you buy in private rooms that emulate the real life performance! Firearm lovers, don't worry! There's a whole section of range weapons and ammunition available. Arizona locals will love this section! IT'S OUR RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS!! AMERICA!!!-- err excuse me. Love the huge overarching fish tank located at the front central entrance. We were lucky enough to view a live feeding of all the exotic fishes and corral! So cool and refreshing to see especially in this Arizona desert! This Scheels has overtaken the Nordstrom (rip) which also is a commentary on the local community and society nowadays I believe. Move over designer shopping, and hello Sports goods and clothing! Simply **Pro, they have something for everyone here. If you are a sports enthusiast, or a family looking to have an awesome weekend outing experience. I would definitely recommend stopping by during your visit to the Chandler Fashion Mall. I would even recommend coming here in general just to walk around and see the sights! For the little ones, they have an arcade, Ferris wheel and a "shooting range". This kicks Bass Pro Shop in the behind! Excuse my language! They also have a large and accommodating pet section, I was pleasantly surprised by the diversity and pricing. Yeti bottles and Stanley tumbler wall, they got both! Welcome back Fuzziwigs! Take me to the candy shop! Interestingly enough I remember there being one in the Chandler mall, but looks like Scheels has the licensing / rights now? Not too sure but it's awesome! The cafe offers pizza, sandwiches, wraps, and kids meals. It's all reasonably priced and taste great. And they also have a coffee bar. We ended up trying the pumpkin spice latte after waiting through the line. It has a bit of a lingering bitter taste to it, not much sweetness. The pumpkin flavor needs a lot to be desired as well. But all in all, I thought it was quite decent considering the circumstances. We're in a sports goods store! (This ain't no Starbucks. ) Girlfriend Jenny's Review of the Pumpkin spice latte: "it was gross, I had high expectations for it. Don't try it. " 2.5 out of 10 stars. Either way, my review still gets 5 stars all day. The chicken sandwich was delicious. Love the Parmesan crusted bread. Buffalo chicken wrap was great too! They deliver the food to you at the cafe! This store is HUGE! The grand opening was on Saturday and it is located where Nordstrom used to be. They completely transformed the place and the inside itself is beautiful and very nice! The ceiling is pretty much all glass and it's a pretty blue color when the sun reflects off of it. I visited with the fam on Sunday around 3pm and it was crazy busy. There were people sight seeing and shopping everywhere! We walked in through the main outside doors and we were quickly greeted by the cashiers as we made our way through. The water feature right by the entrance is beautiful! The colors are really pretty and they have live fish! Heck they also even had a real human up in there swimming around - my mom thought it was so cool lol! We walked around the whole store - up and down and that took us about 1.5 hours. Cool things we saw: Shooting range Life sized animals perched on a huge rock (they were fake) Arizona sports team merchandise Local Arizona brands Sports attire Huge selection of water bottles Arcade Café Plenty of photo ops Ferris wheel (only $1 per person) They were playing the Cardinals game on the big TV The employees we interacted with were alllll friendly. I ended up buying some Teva's and the associate that helped me out in the shoe department was very helpful. The floors were fully stocked and organized and they definitely made sure that every department looked good! The cashier was beyond friendly and interacted with us as we were checking out. I spent about $85 on a pair of shoes, pepper spary, and dog treats. If you hate crowds, avoid this place for now as it's hectic and can be overwhelming. A few people bumped into me without saying excuse me or sorry and you just have to be patient when shopping or walking around. So excited to have such a fun store at Chandler mall now! read more

Personally, I don't get the negative reviews. In my opinion, the Scheels grand opening event was fun, inclusive, and lively! For the event, they had a few vendors providing food/drink samples including coffee, bbq, and pizza for everyone to snack on. There were also fun games for children to enjoy like mini golf and corn hole to name a few. The Scheels staff provided water and samples of fudge to everyone too. The water was definitely needed as it was quite warm today. My husband and I received a hat and a token for a free ride on the Ferris wheel! There were gift card giveaways for everyone to enter and swag was handed out in different areas. The staff of the event were helpful, friendly, and super welcoming. The queue to enter the store was very long, and they did a great job trying to effectively control the crowd. Upon entering the store, it can be overwhelming. There is so much to see! There are two levels to this store. The first floor included clothing, shoes, and accessories for the family. There was also a restaurant/sweet shop to enjoy too. The second floor included home decor, dog toys/treats, kids toys, & sport products specifically for baseball, basketball, hunting, etc. While browsing, the staff provided details on the merchandise and were quick to offer help if needed. The prices for their products were on par with other department store retailers. They carry name brands like Canada Goose, Birkenstock, Under Armor, Uggs, Nike, etc. Overall, I would highly recommend checking Scheels out. They have different products for everyone to browse and enjoy. I will most likely come back on a weekday just to avoid the crowd. read more

Scheels is brand new to AZ so we took a day of winter break to make the 45 mile trek to Chandler to check it out. If you need anything outdoor related and can't find it at Scheels, maybe it doesn't exist because they had everything and more!! It's like if REI, Dicks Sporting Goods, Cabelas, and Bass Pro Shop all had a baby. There is so much to do and see. For the kids there is a giant fish tank, an old timey shooting gallery (carnival style), rollerball (bowling) lanes, a giant display of animals, lego statues, an arcade and a Ferris wheel. Everything is very affordable to do. Word to the wise though: bring cash. Some of the attractions didn't take card. The bowling is also $1 per person per game and a game is 5 frames. There is a cafe and a coffee shop for food too incase you don't want to venture into the mall food court. For the adults, whatever sport or hobby you or your family are interested in, they got you. They have also custom fitting and ranges for baseball, crossbows, and golf clubs. Custom help for almost any piece of equipment too like bikes and boards. Any outdoor mainstream brand you're looking, and even some more niche or cottage brands, you should be able to find here. We spent a lot of time just looking at all the different "shops", like for outdoor gear, soccer, official sports team merch, athletic wear, and even local brands. The kids really wanted to use the basketball hoops but they were just for display, even though it looked like they were set up on a mini court for play. Will be coming back and gearing our multi sport household up for the spring seasons! read more

Wow!I had no idea what I was missing. My friends from the Midwest were very excited when they heard this store was opening on Oct 1, 2023. Now I can see why. They carry a variety of name brand clothing, shoes, swim wear, babies and kids. They really are an all in one store. You could spend the whole day wander in g through the first and second floor. In the back it connects with the mall. It was so large that at first I thought it just kept going. At first you are greeted outside by giant statues of the presidents and a memorial to all the different branches of the military. There is a cute Arizona sign inside where you can be the I in AZ for a picture. Past the registers is a giant 3 column aquarium with a variety of exotic fish. On the first floor I was particularly partial to the clothes and accessories. They had a very nice selection of cute Ariat boots and trendy clothes for fall fashions. There was quite a line for the Ferris wheel, and we stopped by the candy store looking for Scotcheroos which my friends said was a must have. However they were sold out for the past two days and they recommended coming back next week. The second floor has everything you need for outdoors: workout equipment, supplements, hunting gear, guns, archery, all sports including a very nice selection of Pickleball rackets, and a variety of home decor. Scattered throughout the store is a batting range simulator to try different bays, a bowling alley with two lanes, a shooting gallery and arcade. I feel like I only scratched the surface of this store after walking around for two hours. It was quite crowded even on a weekday since it only opened 12 days ago. I'm very excited to go again in the near future. It really is a trendy all in one shop. As a temperature controlled environment, this is going to be a life saver in the Phoenix heat. read more

Spent alot of time in this area and stopped here to see what the hype was about. The fish tank upon entry, from the parking lot, was neat, as it's in the form of an arch! The other cool thing, was the ferris wheel in the center of the store which cost $1.00 to ride. It looks like it's for kids but adults went on this ride as well. The prices of the clothing and sports gear are a little pricey but they did have some items on sale. I noticed that their sport throw blankets, are cheaper here than they are on Amazon at $39.95 vs Amazon prices starting at $59.99 and up. They have a nice clearance section but it's not very big. Entering from the main entrance is an impressive sight. There is a huge double archway fish tank. Scheels is similar to Bass Pro Shop or Cabela's, yet even more over the top. It's hard not to compare Scheels to the other similar businesses. Like Scheels' contemporaries, there is a plethora of camping, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor merchandise. Scheels have clothing for the outdoors and everyday. Prices on clothing are on the higher side. This location is a great resource for local college and professional sports team gear. I was surprised to see furniture, housewears, toys, and even luggage. One of the big things that sets Scheels apart is that it has even more activities. The ferris wheel is only $1 per rider, and is located on the main floor. A small two lane bowling alley is located on the second floor, near the archery targets. Near the firearms is the electronic shooting gallery. There is also an arcade. Like Bass Pro Shop, there is a large display of taxidermy animals. One could stay at Scheels for hours.
