Ribs with Mac and Cheese
Dave T.

Our first visit was not good. We tried again tonight over a year later. The attention to detail on the food and the drinks was outstanding. The drink menu and tap selection is diverse and the bartender on duty was terrific. I ordered Caesar salad with grilled chicken. It was small for the price, but it was delicious. Wife had Ribs with Mac and Cheese and it was outstanding. Great spot!

Fully enjoyed my experience at Scarlet Rose Bistro. It was the perfect ending yo a long rainy day. The chk Buffalo wontons were great as we're the duck drumettes. The jalepeno poppers were very tasty, the only complaint is I wanted more, it only came with 4. I had the beef short ribs, and oh my so good. The Cranberry added the perfect hint of sweetness. The mussels and chorizo had me sopping up the delicious broth. The seafood pasta was great and the ribs were awesome!. The service was outstanding! I'd definitely return.

My wife and I love the new addition to our community!!! The Scarlet Rose is a quaint little joint with amazing food and an extremely knowledgeable staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We love the fact that they rotate their menu and take tremendous pride in their food and overall experience.

New business in town and our first visit. Really beautiful bistro. Service is excellent and the food is wonderful. While not a huge menu its more than adequate. Really good wine selection and a great beer selection for those, like me, who don't drink wine. Bar counter and back of bar is amazing. Bathrooms are spotless. Lovely outdoor patio which will be great come the spring.

Interior. Great wine and craft brew selection

Nice small place with plenty of atmosphere. Staff pleasant and on point with service. Prices are reasonable. Food was very nice size portions with plenty of flavor but not overpowering. Definitely a gem for Wareham.

Not only is the setting home-y, but the staff is all very kind and quick to greet guests. The good old home feel doesn't stop with the setting or service, but it carries through to the food as well. The food comes out looking like a true, delicious, home-cooked meal with the flavor to back it up! For an appetizer I ordered the Charlie's Chowder, which is the best chowder I've ever had, in New England or otherwise. It comes packed with scallops, lobster, and cod, and is absolutely to die for. For my main course, I ordered the Lemon Caper Cod, which was also wonderful. The piece of cod is huge, and is served with a bed of rice, seasonal veggies (mine were carrots) and, of course, capers. The fish was tender and cooked to perfection and, while I'm not typically a huge carrot fan, the steamed carrots they made were sweet and tasty! If I knew how they make them I'd become a much bigger fan of carrots. From start to finish, everything about this place is top notch! A definite must try!

I wasn't starving, so I ordered what SEEMED to be lighter; Sea and Sand, which consists of a stuffed quahog and a cup of Charlie's Chowder. Just a quahog and a cup of chowder! You will NEVER have chowder with more seafood in it! At least 4 scallops, a large lump of crab, some pieces of lobster, and a lotta fish. A bowl would be a meal.

The steak - and the frites - were perfect. Prepared just as requested A nicely done pork chop w fruit chutney on top along with fingerlings and fried kale. And then..:the desserts. Oh man, what a finish - sublime chocolate pots de crème the restaurant advised the dessert was not built to travel. So yeah it didn't look perfect but that was never the point - the taste? Deep rich chocolate and a perfect consistency The other dessert was equally perfect: almond cake, candied nuts, sliced nectarines and crème anglaise on the size. PERFECTION! New management is settling in and coming in to its own.

The Caesar salad was lackluster. Several items were not delivered after the first request. Most important the noise level of the restaurant was, simply put, very oppressive. I'm not sure what the decibel level is but I'm sure it was higher than a New York subway station. If you want to carry on a meaningful conversation, it would be helpful to be proficient in American Sign Language or perhaps to bring a bullhorn. This is really a shame. There are many cost effective options the restaurant could pursue to cut down on the noise level. For example, quilts could replace the paintings on the wall. This would be in keeping with the Cape/Colonial aesthetic of the restaurant.
