Peter, the store manager, greeted us right away and asked how he could help us. He looked up what we needed to get our outdoor security camera to work. That was nice of him. We chose one of the models he recommended after researching and from his knowledge of the products. I would definitely go back to shop at the store because it's nice to have a knowledgeable associate instead of having to research things yourself first and then hunting the item down in a big box store.

I needed a standing desk because I was in a lot of pain from a non-ergonomic home office set-up…read more Went to Everything For Offices and found a basic model in the back of the store. The top of the desk was used; the base was new. I asked the salesperson if she could do better on the price. She said no. I told her I'd take the floor model. Could she do any better? No. I really needed the desk because my arm and shoulder were killing me, so I said I'd buy it. Then we got to "delivery." They were gonna charge me something ridiculous to bring it to my home, five miles away. I mean, like $150. The desk was $279. So the salesperson asked me what kind of vehicle I had. I have a small car, but the cargo area is large, so it actually fit! Then I was told there was a $41 charge for "assembly." I was buying the floor model that was already put together, so... ??? HUH??? Salesperson wouldn't take the charge off. Against my better judgment, I still bought the desk. I guess the pain won out; I needed this thing ASAP! At the end of the transaction, after I had paid and had the desk loaded into my car, I was under the impression that the guys from the store would come to my house and bring the desk inside. I had chatted with the salesperson a bit more, and my understanding was that the $41 assembly charge would be offset by them helping me bring the desk in. Nope. I had misunderstood. The charge was sticking and they were not doing ANYTHING as far as delivery or set-up. Putting the thing into my car was the end of the transaction. I was left standing there with a heavy desk in my car and no way to unload it when I got home. I truly don't know what came over me when I accepted these ridiculous charges. A half-used desk, floor model, no delivery or set-up... I had to wait for a handyman I hired to come by in order to get the desk into my house. I helped him bring it in and ended up banging up some woodwork in the house that now has to be repaired. I just wasn't strong enough to do heavy lifting. Hopefully my physical ailments will improve from using the desk. I expect to have a least a bit of positivity from this experience! I would not recommend this store. (On top of all of this, they don't stock many of the items featured on their website, nor do they have free delivery as indicated on the site.)

If I ran a business, I would follow their plan to a "T". The business they ran then was top notch. With their daughter at the helm of Eon and Vass and Lynne's involvement, I have no doubt this is an excellent company to work for. Here is a company that believes in top notch quality service down to the simplest detail. In the "olden days" Vass insisted even the shipping labels be placed deliberately on packages with care (squarely and centered) There was never half-a**ing anything. Their prices have always been competitive and the quality of service has kept their loyal customers. Though I'm 48 now and wore my body out a bit over the 12 years (I can feel it now yet I still run circles around anyone I work with) I would go back in a heartbeat to work for this family oriented business and be part of something really big again. I badly wanted to like and support this place, but sadly after attempting to buy something there on a few different occasions, here's why I never have: 1) It's rarely open. No weekend hours, no evening hours. They're 8-5 (8-3 Fridays), and holidays? No way. It took me a while to find a time to come in when I wasn't working and they were open. And even still, I was rushed out the door when 4:55 came. 2) The showroom is a mess. I came in looking at adjustable desks and ergo mice/keyboards, and they had a few models, but the one they were showing off was covered in keyboards, most not plugged in, and several broken and unable to be hooked up (according to the saleswoman). It looks like a great place to sit in chairs, but man, they're really not doing themselves any favors selling other things with that kind of mess. 3) Poor lead time on desks. I was told it would be 2-3 weeks to get a standing/sitting desk in stock, plus delivery. The same desks are available with 1 week lead time online through other retailers, with no Boulder sales tax nor supplier markup, not to mention a greater selection. And the return policy... 4) The Return Policy. I walked in willing to buy a Rollermouse and walk out, but unsure how it would fit into my workflow. I was willing to pay tax, to pay their markup, all I asked was the ability to return it in some reasonable timeframe if it didn't work. I was told, instead, that they have a strict "No returns" policy on electronics. So, I walked out instead, and did the Rollermouse trial through the manufacturer instead, paying a bit more for the privilege. (I ended up loving the mouse, for what it's worth). As I've said, I really wanted to like this place, and to support a local supplier of necessary products, and I'm willing to pay to support places like this. But I really felt like Kare Products was trying to make me buy online from somebody else instead. I can't visit the showroom after work, the showroom itself is disorganized and I can't try the products, I can't get the products in a reasonable timeframe, and I can't even count on them to stand behind their products with a reasonable return policy. These choices and policies systematically erased every single advantage that a local store has, leaving you with the same disadvantages of online, plus the markup and sales tax of a local store. Perhaps I just had a poor experience as a non-corporate buyer, but despite their niche and wonderful products, this place seems fundamentally lazy and stuck in the past. Here's hoping they fix that before the clock runs out.
