Went to find a wifi extender and he wasn't looking forward to going to Walmart or Target. So we chose to go to Office Depot. They close at 7pm so we made it with an hour to spare. Peter, the store manager, greeted us right away and asked how he could help us. He looked up what we needed to get our outdoor security camera to work. That was nice of him. We chose one of the models he recommended after researching and from his knowledge of the products. I would definitely go back to shop at the store because it's nice to have a knowledgeable associate instead of having to research things yourself first and then hunting the item down in a big box store. read more

We're 25-year customers and have always loved this store for its friendly and knowledgable staff. But after an unbelievably unprofessional experience with "Manager on Duty" Jennifer Hinula, I'm seriously considering having to drive to a different store. I visited yesterday to pick up cardstock and was disappointed by the lack of service and the General Manager's attitude. After finding my items, I realized no registers were staffed and no employees were visible. When I finally located the GM to ask for assistance, I was met with condescension rather than help. He told me I needed 'more patience' and complained about having just left the front. As a leader, he should be setting an example for customer service. Instead, he made me feel like an inconvenience for simply trying to make a purchase. Employees in the print department were nice but not trained. They told me the first time that they couldn't do it that day and to come back the next day. They were specifically told to copy and email the docs. I went back the second day and the docs were copied but not emailed. The employee said he didn't know how to do that but Peter, the manager, could do the next day. I called Peter and he said they don't do that! After three trips (120 minutes) and his only comment was he would train his employees, not I am sorry you spent so much time coming and going and even after three trips! He said I could then copy it myself on a different machine at my expense and send it to my email! I spent $200 for this job, got bad information and a very snarky manager, that had a superior attitude and absolutely no customer service skills. At the very least Peter should have copied it for me and emailed it to me since he is responsible for training his employees. He should either be retrained on management skills, or fired and/on demoted at the minimum. read more

Quick story... I was literally pulling up to Office Depot today explaining to my son how these retail office supply stores have been dying off through the years. I explained to him why I make the drive 40 minutes round trip to this location in Castle Rock. It's the people and the service they provide. Ironically, the moment we entered the second set of sliding doors we were greeted by Captain Carmen. "Welcome in, is there anything I can help you find"? I leaned over to my teenage son and said "see, what did I just tell you" he was actually impressed and as we all know, it's hard to impress teenagers. Carmen took us right over to what I needed for this trip! She's is one of several employees at this location who have been friendly, efficient and extremely helpful! However, her attitude and approach set the bar very high for how retail customer service and sales should be and that makes it difficult when shopping anywhere else. Although our interaction was quick, it will leave yet another positive impression on my image of Office Depot and their staff! Keep doing what you're doing and know how absolutely blown away your customers would be if they were greeted this way by every employee. My son just wanted to add one more thing to this. He said "dad, you should mention how when we were done checking out the guy behind us said "hey Captain Carmen" apparently she is awesome that people know here by name" I think that's even more cool knowing that she made an impression on my son, who is looking for his first job. In Castle Rock, CO, in Office Depot Store # 02192 is a genius magician named Mark who is the master of their reproductive products. I was in need of many large mounted photographs for my wife's Celebration of Life. Mark took care of everything, even my incorrect listing of images I wanted on my flash drive. Mark cropped and cut the various photos after they were enlarged from jpgs to 36" x 28". The final displays were fantastic, ahead of schedule, and much more vibrant than I could have hoped for. The price was more than fair. If you have an Office Depot in town and they have a Mark working there, then you have everything you need to create presentations that "WoW!" Poor service just gets worse. Signed up for shredding service, granted it's a third party service but you can't talk to the third party you have to talk to customer service with Office Depot. Charged monthly, no big deal. But when they don't show up on the scheduled date it's a problem. You call daily to sit on hold for 1-2 hours at a time to get disconnected. Emails to customers service go without a response. The store can't help. So you cancel the service and now have to fight to get a hold of someone to schedule the pick up of the full bins because no one can let you know anything. I recently purchased a computer through Office Depot in Castle Rock, CO. I purchased this computer for school. Day 2 of bringing the computer home the computer screen went black and started doing this glitching thing. (I will attach a video of the glitchng along with this email.) The computer has been glitching 3-4 times a week now and has glitched over 15-20 times total since I purchased it 2 months ago. I brought the computer in a week later to either exchange or return it. It took me a week in a half to bring the computer in because im very busy running a business and a full time student. However, I made sure to bring the computer in before the 14 days was up because I didnt want this EXACT issue Im dealing with now to happen. I brought the computer in BEFORE the 14 day return policy was over! When I brought the computer in, Austin the MOD, told me that he would like to run a diagnostic on the computer to see if it was something they could fix. Although, Austin said he had 3 other people ahead of me needing diagnostics, and that I would have to leave the computer with him for the day. I could not do this because I had homework that I had to work on that day that was due the following day. I asked Austin if I could follow up with him the following week to get the diagnostic done, and possibly return the laptop then. Even though it would officially be past the 14 day period, Austin agreed to this!!! Austin said he would honor doing a return or exchange after the 14 day period because I was currently there BEFORE the 14 day period, but I had special circumstances with school. Unfortunately I was not able to come in the following days, but came in 10 days later to return the computer. When I brought the computer in, Austin ran a diagnostic and nothing came back in the diagnostic. He said he could not return nor exchange the computer because it was past the 14 days. He is actually going against what he promised, even after I came in BEFORE the 14 days to return the laptop. I dont know why this computer is doing this, and I dont know why nothing showed in the diagnostic. But I do know I have lost hours of work with school, I have video proof of the computer glitching and I have a promise from your MOD Austin, promising he would honor a return AFTER the 14 days. Now Im being told its past the 14 days and you guys will not return the computer? You guys knew about this issue before the 14 days and made a promise and now are not keeping to your promise! This is terrible customer service. I would like to return the computer and get my money back in full. If this does not happen, then I need an email and number for your district manager and corporate office. Due to the ridiculous circumstance, along with my detailed conversation with Austin, this is absurd and I'm dumbfounded that I am even having to deal with this. You guys actually made a promise and are now reneging on that promise. This has absolutely zero morals and integrity and calls for someone losing their job. I will be leaving reviews with names and filing complaints and will not stop until I get the resolution that I was promised from Austin. In addition, I left a 1 star review on the office depot website and someone bounced back and denied the review to be published. I will post another review. I will also be needing to speak to your corporate office about you guys denying bad reviews being published on your products. When you deny bad reviews this is false advertising and corrupt. No wonder your laptops have higher star reviews. I will also look into my options going to the BBB. This is beyond ridiculous. If you think im lying about this computer, or that I have personally done something to affect this computer, then look up the bad reviews online. Can I give zero stars? this particular location is terrible terrible terrible. They have no one there who is willing to own a problem and their usual fall back is call 1800 depot which is basically corporate. After fighting through their automated phone tree you get a customer service rep with zero authority to fix a simple problem. In my case I put in a order to have a PDF manual for a board game professionally printed and coil bound since printing color is a killer on a home printer. Thy first told me my order was ready then they called and told me they could not give the manual since it is copyrighted? This was provided to the games customers as they screwed the original manual and this fixed the errors. I was not aware you could not printed it out for personal use. That all may be true but regardless I was not provided a refund $25 and am now getting the run around. I am done put a dispute in with my credit card company. read more

Two people were behind the print desk. Other staff members were wandering around the store without paying any attention to customers who were trying to pay. Don't have your prints done here! Went there with my photos uploaded and ready to go but was told to leave and email my photos with print instructions instead. So I did. The next day I called to check the status of my prints and a woman with major attitude said she'd get to them soon. A couple hours later a different (and very sweet) younger woman called to tell me they were ready. Went to the store to get them and immediately brought them home to be framed. The prints were not 16x20 (as requested), color (as requested) and the pictures were off center. Called back and talked to the younger woman who said she'd reprint for free but then hours later called back and said she spoke to the grumpy woman who printed them originally and she claimed she tried to do all those things but that's just how they came out?! What?? I told her to just cancel the order and went back to return the prints. Was told I couldn't return them there and had to go through corporate!! Went to Michaels print shop with the uploads and we ordered them together and looked at previews of how they'd turn out together. MUCH better experience! There are all types of people who come into the Castle Rock Office Depot, they come into the store for many different reasons. They provide different services such as technological, print and customer service. Others come to just shop for basic office supplies. Print and copy services have their own flaws but they also have their good parts in the careers they hold. They show their own improvements and successful accomplishments, such as time management, accuracy, and compared tp Fedx. There are different associates who work there who could be better than others with their time. Overall the print department has a whole needs to work on time management. When I upload to their online print center the job would be done in a timely manner unless there is a problem with my file. Office Depot would call me to ask me some clarifying questions so they could get my job done correctly. I felt the online jobs are great but there are also times when I am a walk-up customer, the team seems to have trouble getting their jobs completed in a timely manner. They could be given a week-long time to do a job and they still do not get it on time, it seems that the workers have trouble seeing what should be finished first. For simple printing, they give faster turnaround times. They will do it right then, when it is more convenient for their customers and their time. There are all types of jobs that could walk into this department. It could be as simple as black and white printing to banners, there are also just some jobs that seem impossible to do. In my experience of these jobs, I felt they are done exactly the way I wanted them. If there was an underlying problem it got fixed in a timely manner or eventually worked out. I see the most problems with the online orders as this part causes misleading information. It's simple faults in file setup to hitting the wrong option for paper, there are human faults like miss reading the directions of the project. I felt that Office Depot gives well-finished products and employees that are happy to help a customer improve their projects. There are other printing departments such as Fedx. They also have their own problems. Fedx printing services for a few pages could be a twenty-four-hour turnaround time. Trying to upload to Fedx website I noticed that I have less options in paper in what I want to have printed. Fedx may not have many problems with misreading a job, but they do have less options to choose from. Printing is expensive for anyone. Even owning a printer and getting the ink can be expensive. While printing at Office Depot there are better prices, they still are high but it is still affordable. For color printing it is .71 cents but that is not including anything extra, where at Fedex their color printing is .89 cents also not including the extra for the job. They are both still high but I felt the quality of working is higher at Office Depot. I feel that Office Depot has flaws and can slowly be fixed but the workers are not machines. There will be human errors from their side and the customer side. I feel the team is working hard to become a better group that can grow from each other to fix the flaws. Office Depot has a lot of services that can help all kinds of people. They may not be able to fix their time management in a few hours but slowly that they will grow as a team. Their accuracy in the jobs they have are amazing and can only improve from here on. Finally, their prices may seem high but they do a quality job for that price and are always there to help with improvement whether that be within the team or with the customers. This team is only human and can reach the proper goals to make their department succeed. read more

Worst customer service ever! Went in today had a table and a file cabinet we wanted to buy but said don't try to carry ask for an associate to help. Lol right We waited for 30 minutes. I went to the front desk a ask for help from a checker. Guy who had glasses this was before lunch today. He rolled his eyes and said I can't help till I get all of these people checked out ! 2 checkers a bit of a line. I said ok no problem. I ask him if he was the online working and he mumbled some comment about only having the other checker to help. Went back to wait another 20 minutes. No help no one coming we decided to leave went to walk out the door and he was helping someone else with ink. Well there went your 150. sale and will ASOULUTELY NOT go back to this store ever. I have done three projects in the past few months with Office Depot and not one of them has either been delivered on time or without significant errors. The first project would not have been done on time if I had not shown up and stood there while it was done. Even as I stood there, it was riddled with errors like being out of order. The second project was printed incorrectly. When I showed the clerk that it was not what I sent in, his response was "well, that is how it printed". Those two events were merely the appetizer to the horrible experience the past 24 hours. I sent a project into the Parker store. I called in at noon the following day to see when I could expect it being done (despite receiving an email that it would be done by 7 PM that night, I knew better not to follow up with them). On that call, I was informed that their binding machine was broken. I asked if they could send the project to the Castle Rock store. I then called the Castle Rock store an hour later and they had not received it. I had to work with them to find the order in their system and get it moved to their store. I then called twice more to confirm it would be done. When I arrived at 7 to pick up the project, the lady informed me that they had several other reprints and their printers needed to be updated, so the project would not be completed that night. They also could not offer a refund. I guess at Office Depot, being late, having equipment that doesn't work, and poor communication is par for the course. Luckily, I left and immediately went to FedEx Office and they completed the project that night for me on short notice. Please take this small business owners advice....if you want a project late or wrong, use Office Depot, they are great at that. If you want it right and on time, please use FedEx Office. read more

Printing services are advertised as 24 hours are not delivered in 24 hours. Online system is glitchy and messed up my order. Their associate picked a different font which then turned illegible once cards were printed. We called several times and associates said "cards just need to be cut" we arrive to pick up the cards once told they were ready and the associates rush to cut the cards, seriously? So were you lying to us earlier? I wanted a different font and the cards redone that evening, the associate said that was okay. An hour later a manager calls us and refuses the redo. We demand a refund which he refuses as well. Never ever going back, for printing services I highly recommend Minuteman press instead, they fulfill their deadlines and have a much better product. They also don't hire a bunch of slacker stoners that don't know how to tell time or make horrible recommendations to their customers. read more

The guys in the business center act like they are the only game in town. Very rude to me and unclear as to when the project I wanted would be done. They acted almost hostile when I said I needed it done right away. They also tried to charge me by the minute before they even did the project be cause they said that way I wouldn't have to come back to the store, in a very rude way. This was 7/31/17 at about 1pm. I have one here to get copies done a couple different times and have ended up with nothing too good. Once I brought in 15 letterheads in for them to print a couple letters for me. They said that they couldn't do it right then because there were other projects in front of me. I thought ok, I just want 15 things printed off, it might take 5 minutes. But I understand the system. So I came back the next day to pick them up, and paid for them. When I got to my office I noticed that 5 of them the letterhead was faded. I think they messed up on them and so they took another letterhead I had a copied it. Obviously they didn't look too good. Then i kept looking through and notices that the last 2 letterheads the letters weren't printed in a straight line, they were tilted. Now I understand making a mistake and all, but I would hope they would call me and explain what happened and let me bring in more letterheads and all. But instead they sneak the bad ones on the bottom of the stack and hope I don't notice. Very not cool. I paid full price for their mistake, please tell me there is nothing wrong with that. read more

Very Odd. I returned a computer that just didn't work for me. They quickly returned it and gave me my money back. No problems here...But no questions either. A little discovery would have turned this return Into a higher end purchase and some tech services on my additional shot computer...Instead 3 employees up front stared at me while I asked if the sales person could show me a different device. The reason why not was " because you said you wanted to return it" I left a little embarrassed... My experience has never been good..slow cashiers...last time a guy was waiting at the register for about 2 min., the older gal sweeping the floor was taking her time and said, "No on is at that register...", he asked which register IS someone at and she said, "I'll be there in a minute...". Today, went in and 3 people were in front of me, the same gal as before was at another register just chatting away with a friend, oblivious to the people standing in line. I am not sure what happened to the customer service here. I have been coming here for 10 years and the team was always very friendly. I even ended up knowing quite a few people by name. But, last night I went in and all of the staff had changed and customer service was terrible. There was no one attending any of the check out lanes. One poor customer was standing in the middle of the store. No one had greeted him nor was showing any signs of helping him. I waited near the check out area and after several minutes someone finally came over to open a lane. Julie was her name. She did not greet me. I told her that I thought they could use more staff. She said, "well, it is that time of day". I am not sure what Julie meant by that. But, she clearly had no interest in the fact that people had been waiting to GIVE THEIR BUSINESS MONEY!
