I didn't make it in for about a week, but he had informed the other managers so when I came in it was quick and easy. Had my voucher in hand. Turned out I needed to place an order for store pickup and the employee, James, was quick to help me. He was able to get my order figured out and placed for store pickup within a couple days, while also redeeming my voucher and accommodating our tax exempt status. Complicated order, but he did it quickly and with a smile.

He informed us that the paint and sheen would not be ideal for toddlers as well as the flexibility to changing the color half way through the job. Although the job took longer than expected, the work was meticulously done and the boys were so friendly and professional. In addition he was able to have a great drywall professional come and patch some very large holes in the wall, and quote out a basement project. He even had some flooring recommendations, (yup, this was a gut project). They are more than just paint, they are pretty much full service. Well, after we had a contractor do some work for us and we did some minor touch ups the contractor schooled us that (like everything) if you buy quality, you get quality. Basically, if you buy a quality paint then you get a better finish, it goes on easier, it last longer, and on and on. And from what I can tell, this is totally true. If you are going to paint, go to a real paint store; they know their stuff. I have no idea why the big box stores have crappy paints, but apparently they just do. This Sherwin is off Parker Road just past Lincoln (on the right). I tell you this because Yelp hates Parker for some reason and can never get the address or direction right to anything within its city limits. Sorry, rant ended, back to the review. It is a normal Sherwin with lots of samples off the left and aisles of brushes, stains, and various painting supplies down the middle. We got helped right away and the guy knew his stuff. He definitely saved us some time because we were going to paint cabinets and were approaching it a little wrong. He told us the right sander to use, that we didn't need primer if we bought certain paints and what color would look good with our floors. I wish I paid attention to his name, because he was super helpful! Any rate, this is how business should be. Helpful, clean, and they give you a quality product for a fair price!

I believe the Twenty Mile store is for contractors only. Yesterday's visit for a gallon of paint (for my front door and trim) was the best paint store experience I've ever had. Though he was walking back to finish up with his customer, the manager took a moment to greet me and find out what I was looking for. He told me he would finish up with the customer already there and then get my order ready. As I waited and walked around the store (I waited about 10 minutes), a few people came in after me. The manager took a moment with the folks who walked in to greet them and, when possible, to find out their needs so he could quickly get their order started in the back (there were other employees helping in the back, etc, not just him). He was kind, helpful, knowledgeable and personal to everyone in the store -- both contractor and regular people alike. He kept things moving along. He took the initiative to find an active coupon and saved me 35%! (I found the link to current SW coupons and will post it at the end). I was so surprised and grateful! Six years ago, my husband and I replaced our fence -- he replaced and I painted. Our HOA requires SW paint for exterior jobs. I recall feeling like one in a herd back then, as I waited a long time, etc. The new manager brings great customer service to the store. And our fence's SW paint still looks awesome and brand new, 6 years later! Even though it's southern-facing and gets all the sun (I used rollers and a paint brush instead of a sprayer). After working with them, it's obvious why they're so highly rated! Stuart came out the very next day and provided a fair, competitive quote for painting the exterior. Even my dog liked Stuart, which was a good sign! I can't say the same for the other two companies that came out. The two gentlemen who completed the work didn't just do a good job--they did an EXCEPTIONAL job. I had resigned myself to the idea that some of my 1980s siding would never look great again. I was wrong. The team went above and beyond, sealing every gap and nail hole across the entire exterior. They even applied elastomeric primer to the exposed wood ends to help extend their lifespan. The project took about two days of preparation and painting, and the finished product was absolutely pristine. My neighbors have overspray on their chimneys and brick facades from other painting jobs, but these guys didn't make a single mistake. The tape lines were razor-sharp, there wasn't a drip or a spot of overspray anywhere, and they even carefully taped around my house numbers with an X-Acto knife. That level of attention to detail genuinely surprised me. The quality of workmanship and value I received from Xtreme Painting are hard to find these days.
