I found a business card for First Priority Painting on my front door and decided to call, and I'm glad I did. Mike came out the next day and presented an estimate for the house exterior that I could deal with. The next day we selected the colours and power washing was performed. Over the next couple of days the work was completed, Mike came over to inspect and soon after a painter showed up to do touch ups for the next six hours. It made a huge difference, it was wonderful. I can't begin to express how happy I am with the work that Mike (and Chris) did on our home. We hired Mohawk to paint our frontroom, kitchen, basement, hallway, and three bedrooms; touch up the risers on our stairs as well as baseboards. Instead of merely repainting the baseboards, Mike took the time to fill gaps between the baseboards and wall with paint caulk giving it a proper finished look. I had installed frame-style wainscoting in our frontroom, along with a chair-rail, twenty seven individual boxes needed to be paint-caulked and painted. MIke was great! My husband and I have lived in our home for 4 years with the former owners paint choices. It was boring and dingy and we needed a change. Mohawk Painting provides excellent service at a reasonable price. I hired Mike and his associate to paint my entire condo in preparation to sell it. After getting several estimates for the job, he provided the most competitive price. We painted the whole unit dover white (Sherwin Williams) to give it a clean look before placing it on the market. Mike and his associate worked through the day painting and patching up any cracks and managed to nearly finish the job in just a day. Mike was very accommodative when I asked him if he could also paint the closets in my unit though we hadn't originally discussed this over the phone. Though we originally planned for 2-3 coats of paint on a couple of dark green accent walls in the apartment, some faint green still showed through after three coats. Not one to cut corners, Mike returned the next morning to throw on another coat and finish the job at no extra charge. Because I am certifiably insane, somehow I decided it would be a good idea to work full time, finish up a semester of grad school, rent out our condo and move to an apartment, and then board a plan for a trip to the Middle East in a span of 6 weeks time. I know, I know - insanity. It gets worse - I actually planned on painting the entire new apartment as well. As luck would have it, I tweaked my bulging disc and was not going to be able to paint the new place in the time frame I wanted - enter Mohawk Painting. I am a do-it-your-selfer, raised by home remodeler parents who essentially turned my childhood into a forced labor camp. I don't "hire out" normally. However, I am so glad I dd. It was amazing to come to the new place after 2 days and see it transformed without any of my own effort. He did and amazing job, and the place just went from dumpy apartment, to a great place. His work was fantastic. His attention to detail was surprising and much appreciated. Shortly after, I painted the cabinets in our new kitchen and needed to pull out the fridge to get the cabinets above the fridge. To my surprise, Mike had pulled out the fridge to paint the wall behind it. WHAT?!? Who does that?! I mean, I would have, but its my place. I am guessing 99.9% of people never pull out their fridge and would never have known if that wall was painted. That is a good man there, people. I feel so LUCKY to have found Mike with Mohawk... He is a gem! From the beginning of my estimate to the end of the job, he was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and experienced. He met me at my house to give me a quote on my condo. Although it is very small, I had gotten so extravagant quotes from other big-name painters. Mike gave me a great quote, and was willing to work with me when I voiced some hesitation. The final amount we came up with was beyond fair and I was ecstatic! Mike also helped me to pick out colors; I knew I wanted a gray, but I had had some mishaps with grays before (too blue, too dark, too brown, etc.), so I was unsure of which would be a good paint for my particular space. Mike pulled out 3-5 awesome colors and even had pictures of a few of them to show me how they looked in real life. I settled on "Smoke Embers" in a matte finish. The morning Mike came by, I was a bit nervous; as a 25-year-old single gal living alone, I'm always wary of people I don't know in my home. However, Mike showed up looking cheerful and ready to work, which totally boosted my faith in him. I texted him throughout the day to make sure things were going well, but refrained from asking for any pictures (even though I really, really, wanted them!) 4:45 finally rolled around and I headed home... And to my surprise, he was TOTALLY finished. I walked into my condo and it was BEYOND PERFECT. The base boards and windows and trim looked so clean that one might think they were brand new; the grey was the perfect complement to my yellow granite countertops and wood floors, and the whole place was exactly how I left it--no dirty, messes, trash, etc. I would recommend (and have already!) Mohawk is a great small business. Mike just finished some interior & exterior painting for me. I got bids from 3 contractors and Mike's pricing was in line with everyone's. I decided to go with him b/c I just got a good vibe that he understood the work and would be reasonable & fair to work with. My intuition was correct and he delivered quality work as agreed. The job involved matching 4 colors that all came out looking spot-on (and as a photography I have a sharp eye for color not to mention being picky). Mike said he even made the paint shop throw away color he felt wasn't the right shade at first. We actually had an issue where Mike was trying out a new employee on day 1 who did a sub-par job. When Mike inspected the work later that day, I was very impressed that he stood by his quality and took care of the re-work himself the very next day to ensure everything was to the highest standards. He also called in his regular worker to make sure everything was done fast for us since I'd arranged to have my kids out of the house during the painting. My house is also really old - both Mike & his worker did a great job painting hard-to-manage spots where the house has settled and lines aren't exactly straight anymore. I had an awesome idea to paint my entire basement myself over a weekend. Shocker: I didn't finish. I needed somebody to come in and bust out the remaining trim and doors so my wife could still move our kids back into their rooms the following weekend. I have put off painting my condo for 3 years; painting is hard work, and not a cheap service! I'm putting my condo on the market, so I decided to try Mohawk Painting. Mike's prices were extremely reasonable, the lowest of several quotes! He was professional, friendly, and helpful in making sure I chose the right color-he knows his stuff! He showed me some of his work; this guy is talented! I like simple solid colors, but he has done some pretty cool artistic stuff! He catered to what I want and did classic, earth tones super well-if I wanted crazy and funky though, he would have kicked a** at that too! He chose eco-friendly paint that didn't have the typical strong paint fumes; I really appreciate that. Mike was an efficient worker; didn't rush through just to finish quickly; I could tell he wanted my place to look great. My place went from dull and drab to fresh and bright; walls are smooth, no paint on the trim or floor, and he cleaned up before he left too! I feel like my condo is brand new again, I wish I didn't have to sell it! We had just moved into our new 1st home ever. Our Dream condo. The walls however were all white and a bit more scuffed than when we had looked at the place. My boyfriend did a not so stellar job painting the main wall in our living room. It was not so good. I figured since it needed painted so did everything else. The place needed some color, and there were some holes left over or ugly plaster covering up holes. I found Mike online at Mohawk through Yelp. He was at my house that evening doing the estimate and picking out colors. He was more excited about colors than I was, which I saw as a good sign. His estimate was so reasonable for the price. It was way less than any other company in the city would charge for a huge bedroom, huge bathroom, kitchen, and living room. (he basically painted the whole condo.) 5 stars for mike and mohawk. Michael originally painted our new home, and then we had him back to paint our cabinets. Everything looks great. The quote on the house painting was very competitive to the other 4 quotes we received. The cabinet painting was a little bit more expensive, but it was obvious Michael knew what he was doing. In speaking with the our other options, it was clear Michael has a lot more experience and attention to detail for cabinets (we removed some doors, painted insides, patched where the cabinet hardware used to be etc) He was very passionate about the job and discussing colors and color profiles through out the house. We ultimately chose him because he seemed to care the most, and his quotes were great. Definitely very casual about the contracts and communication but he started both days he committed to and finished a little bit early as well. Place is spotless, no mess. Based on the reviews, we gave Mohawk a call. Chris came over a couple of days later to do the estimate. We needed our entire apartment painted and he said it would be no problem and said he would have the estimate back to us that night, Monday night. Wednesday rolls around and we still have no estimate. I called Chris to follow-up and he apologized and explained that he and Mike (owner I think) were having a hard time getting their schedules worked out to go over the estimate, but we would have it by that night, Wednesday night. Then comes Friday and we still dont have an estimate. We call Mike to follow-up and he apologizes and says we will have it that night. Monday arrives and, again, still no estimate. One week wasted! By this time we have definitely given up on the company, but we were interested in getting an estimate so we could compare it to others. We thought by some miracle an estimate might show up, but it never did. We gave Mike one final phone call today, Thursday, and he basically said that he and Chris aren't able to get estimates out. It's unfortunate these guys couldn't get their shit together. A phone call saying so would have been nice! read more

We were moving from California to Colorado into our new home and I wanted all the walls painted revere pewter gray and the cabinets painted white before we moved in. Mike was always prompt in returning my calls and questions and had excellent communication with me throughout the whole process even though we were still living in ca. He even texted me a lot of pictures of the progress along the way. His price for the walls was extremely competitive and the paint was color matched perfectly to the Benjamin Moore color I wanted. The kitchen cabinets were pricier but the finished product was well worth the extra cost. They look like brand new cabinets and in a beautiful soft white (Benjamin Moore white dove color match)! My husband and I worked with Mike last Fall to have our kitchen cabinets refaced. We debated about removing and replacing our cabinets but could not justify since the only thing wrong with them was the color/style -- the layout is great and works well with our needs. We wanted to move from the builder standard facing to something more dramatic that would better go with some wood-look tile that we had installed throughout the main floor of our home. Mike and his associate painted and stained some new windows that I had installed in my home as well as a wall and a door. Mike was great to work with, he showed up to start the job on time and let us know exactly how he was going to go about his tasks. We had 2 rooms where the windows were going to have to be stained and we were very concerned about the windows matching the rest of the room. Mike was very diligent with making sure that the paint store got the stain colors exactly right and would not settle for anything less then perfect. It's an old house, so many of the walls weren't in great shape, and he did all necessary patching. Plus, I changed colors in two rooms halfway through.
