It tasted like it had been sitting out for hours under a heated lamp.. like gas station pizza. The slices were also super small for what was supposed to be a regular size. For a town like Kennebunkport you'd think there'd be more than one bathroom area in the town. They also obviously don't think of special needs because my son is terrified of the hand blowers, so loud, refused to go into the tiny 3 stall loud bathroom. He desperately had to go pee and every place over there is like old with no bathrooms lol. Just as I was about to like pull him I dunno to a dumpster or something my mom spotted in the distance this place sort of on the hill. We ran in explaining and they were like omg yes yes go right ahead. Insisted we didn't have to buy anything to use the bathroom. My mom still wanted to anyway because they were so nice and understanding. She got a few slices to go. I'll forever remember this place saved the day lol. Kennebunkport get porta pottys or something! I can only imagine in the summer it's probably insane. It was a youngish girl who was there when we went. Just so nice. If ever back in the area I would make this place a must stop.

When they have a good night, the pizza is actually delicious, with really good crust and a lot of toppings. But often I find the pizza was just made with a lack of care, being undercooked and under topped. This is likely due to a lot of the staff being high schoolers. That being said, the staff are all very friendly, the service is quick, they have options for everyone (pizza, fries, salads, subs, etc) and i have never gotten anything here that was outright bad. Definitely a good option for a solid pizza in the area

The waitress told me it came on a house made pretzel roll and I was down for a different roll. It was a butter lobster roll and was absolutely phenomenal. My husband got the grilled cheese dippers (app) as an entree and it was also very good for those who don't love lobster or seafood. The drinks are good here and all over the resort. We drank the blueberry mojitos (made with vodka) through our whole stay and were very happy. This place isn't too crowded and you don't have to stay at the resort to enjoy. We went to another "bar food" restaurant. They said at least an hour wait. So we said what the Hell, lets get anything. We found this Amato's. Understand, I grew up in Maine and my Dad bought Amato's Italian sandwiches when they cost 25 cents. Believe me, I know what they should taste like. In a word, fantastic! Now understand, these are not what they were in the 60's, but they were close enough to bring back all the memories. Thank you Kennebunk Amato's. Now for the Scarborough Amato's on Rte 1. We went there last summer. I had to have my Italian fix. In a word, HORRIBLE. The Scarborough Amato's, last year was just awful. My advice: Go to Kennebunk and get something good. Thank you Kennebunk Amato's for bringing back those childhood memories.

Perhaps that was my mistake as the waitress kindly told me it usually is fried and that is why it does not state fried on the menu. if this is the case, I would expect pan fried not deep fried. My husband and I both enjoyed our meals. He got the wheat pasta dish. (We traded meals due to mine being deep fried.) We had focaccia bread and affogato too- enjoyed both. Atmosphere was rustic and quiet. We sat upstairs and tables were adequately spaced and gave ample room. My issue was the "kitchen love" charge that showed up on the bill without an explanation until I inquired. I was told it is to motivate the chefs to keep working hard. What??!! We always tip very generously but knowing we are forced to tip the chefs separately and NOT told about this fee, which is then taxed, did not sit well with us . Transparency is key and I would not choose to give chefs a forced tip to motivate them to work harder.

I would give this place a 10 PLUS for service!…read more I work for a large restaurant group, and I would hire any of the four team members I interacted with at this restaurant in a heartbeat! Our server was so attentive and pleasant that I actually asked her if she was an owner. She treated us like we were the most important people who had walked through the door, even though the place was packed! The bartender obviously had his head on a swivel because, as soon as our drinks were getting low, he was right there asking if we wanted another. The food runner brought our meals with a friendly smile and joked with us about something. I honestly can't remember what he said, but I do remember that he made us laugh! And to top it all off, as we were walking out, another server who was outside called out to us, "I hope you all have an excellent night!" INCREDIBLE SERVICE!! How was the food, you ask? It was okay. I think everyone was happy with their meals, but I can tell you one thing for sure: It's the service that will bring me back the next time I'm in the area! As someone who works in the restaurant industry, I know how difficult it is to build a team that delivers this level of hospitality, especially when a restaurant is packed. Whatever they're doing to train and motivate their staff, they're doing it
