Chittenango Pizza - Turkey sub lacking meat, do better guys!!!

Giving it 4 stars because of the pizza. I read all the reviews on here and had higher expectations…read moreof this place. Let me start out by first saying the pizza was great. I had 3 slices, a pepperoni, a chicken bacon ranch and a Buffalo chicken slice. The pepperoni was decent. The chicken bacon ranch was definitely pretty tasty but I was blown away by the Buffalo chicken slice, it definitely out did the others. Would rate the slices a 4.5/5. I've never been a huge buffalo chicken slice fan because I hate loads of grease dripping off my slice and the flavor has never been there for me, but whatever these guys are doing with this works, so this is something I would order again. I also ordered a large Turkey sub with American, LTO and Mayo... definitely sub par for sure (pun intended). All lettuce and not a lot of meat...was very surprised as it was roughly $15 and probably 2 slices of Turkey all the way through, so probably a total of 6-7 smaller sized slices for a large sub. Would rate the sub a 2.5/5. I will definitely be back for the pizza! Hoping they see this and throw a little more meat on their subs next time especially for the price. All in all Chittenango Pizza loads their slices up with toppings which I appreciate. Who wants a skimpy slice of pie? Service was great, ambiance was comfortable, I appreciate that it's the old Pizza Hut, kind of nostalgic and decorated with wizard of oz knick knacks etc which is typical for the town :-)

FOOD was and is amazing. Fried Calamari was some of the best.  Scallop special was cooked perfectly.  Chicken dish with cream sauce yummy.  Sausage and pasta dish spot on. Rigatoni Peppernotta Roasted peppers, sausage, marinara and fresh mozzarella  Shrimp Firenza Shrimp sautéed with onion, garlic, hot cherry peppers, and marinara over linguine with fontinella cheese excellent but for my taste more spice. Desserts were homemade and good. Small equals a little noisy but well worth the visit.

I now know that this unassuming restaurant has some of the friendliest staff and best prepared food in the Utica area. I can't wait to go back. With a full roster of reservations scheduled for their dining room, the four of us walked in and slotted up at the bar for dinner with front row seats to the action in the kitchen. First up: spicy and flavorful Utica greens covered in a healthy sprinkling of cheese. Would order again. After chatting with the owner, we ordered two scallop pasta dishes, a steak sandwich, and chicken Parm (which they were kind enough to make with fra diavolo sauce for my spice lord husband). EVERYTHING was impeccable, and I was honestly tempted to pick up my plate and lick it clean - that's how good the seared scallops over linguine were. Pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was light, well seasoned and well balanced (and not actually on their menu, so bonus points for being willing and able to pull that out on the fly!). In and out in about an hour, though we never felt rushed. We're looking forward to trying more apps and staying for an espresso and dessert next time!

In town for a family event, I stopped by this restaurant after hearing several strong…read morerecommendations. I started my meal with a Macallan 12-Year-Old Scotch, which I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a good Scotch. For appetizers, I tried the chicken pastina soup and the stuffed mushrooms. The soup was delicious and full of flavor. While I generally enjoy mushrooms, the stuffing combination just wasn't to my taste. For my entrée, I ordered the Veal Parmigiana. The veal cutlet was generously sized, lightly breaded, and cooked perfectly without being over-fried. The sauce complemented the dish well, with a balanced flavor that wasn't overly acidic. My dining companion ordered the Tortellini Carbonara and said it was very good, although quite rich. She enjoyed it but could only finish about half of the portion. The restaurant is easy to access and offers ample parking in a well-lit lot. Inside, the dining room is attractive and tastefully appointed. The lighting is dim enough to create a pleasant atmosphere without making it difficult to see your meal. Our server was excellent: attentive, professional, and friendly without being overly intrusive. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Syracuse area.

Traveling through Oneonta, NY we found this gem of a place. We walked in and asked if we had a…read morereservation. We had not noted a reservation was required, so "no" reservations. The waitress said no problem, just give me a minute. She had us seated in just a few minutes. Five stars for just that. Our party ordered the Meat Sauce Spaghetti, Chicken Marsala, Lasagna and The Ravioli. Fresh hot bread with the house dipping sauce was brought to the table just prior to the salads. The bread was fresh and delicious. The salad dressing is made in house and was amazing. The entrees were huge and didn't disappoint. Everything was so fresh and made with love and respect. We were looking for an Italian meal and we left throughly pleased. The restaurant is located in a residential neighborhood. Parking is not the best, but the restaurant has almost a family style appeal. As you enter, there is a bar area with several tables and on toward the restaurant is a drop down area which is another dining area. There is also an outdoor area, but not sure when it would be used. All in all, I would highly recommend. Great Service, Great Food and Memories that will last a lifetime. Thanks Again!!!

We were served drinks quickly and brought a delicious loaf of Italian bread. The wine and cocktails were fine. Our salads followed shortly with only 2 choices of dressing, a strong balsamic or ranch dressing. The salad was ok. Some mixed greens and a couple cherry tomatoes. Then we waited and waited and waited. It took well over an hour for our entrees to arrive. We were not checked on during the long wait. When we finally got our food it was mixed reviews. I ordered the scallops and was surprised that was all I got. No side pasta or vegetable at all. It looked pretty with dual sauces but the taste was just ok. I tried some one else's side of pasta with marinara and it was acidic for my taste. Two of my sons enjoyed their dishes. One a mushroom cream pasta and one a chicken riggie pasta. Both were good. My niece tasted too much condensed milk in her Alfredo but enjoyed the shrimp that came with it. The cod that my sister in law got had a good texture and taste. My aunt didn't like her pasta Juliano dish. My Uncle loved his meal. This place is a bit too pricey for what you get and they definitely need to improve the service time.
