We were ignored for about 10 minutes and we were about to leave when the server finally came over. No improvement in service for the balance of the meal. We got takeout from here on a Friday night and it was great!! Lots of gluten free options, which is unusual. We had asada tacos, the bebe rellenos, Oaxacan chicken, the salsa flight, and Baja enchiladas. And we added some churros for dessert. This little gem was a 4 min walk from our hotel so of course we tried it out. The area looks like it's seen better days but go inside, you'll be pleasantly surprised. (We entered through the door facing the movie theater) The restaurant seems to be going through a remodel. We entered and were not greeted right away but waited by the doors. After being seated we were brought water right away. However after that it seems like we were forgotten about. Not sure if the table we were at didn't have a server or if the server didn't realize we were their table. Nevertheless one of the servers noticed we hadn't been helped for a while and stepped right up!! He apologized and got our order taken and our food out quickly. We got the queso fundido (which was different than I thought it would be) Think a couple cheeses melted in a skillet with a side of small corn or flour tortillas. Not sure if we ate it correctly but (shrug) Lol! We shared an order of chicken fajitas next. The meal comes with 3 small shells so we asked if we could add 3 more which the server said would be no problem! Food was delicious! The server offered us a free dessert due to us having to wait so we chose the churro. So glad we did!! Soft but crispy with a side of chocolate and a side of caramel with whipped cream on top. Our waiter said the grand opening would be July 2nd, they're just waiting on their liquor license and I would say that was the only thing missing! I placed my order via Yelp which Grubhub filled. I got conformation and then a second notification when it would be ready. When I got to the restaurant, they did not have my order. So I had to sit and wait for nearly 30 minutes. I wasn't even offered something to drink while I waited. I was about to walk out when the manager came to me and informed me my food was ready, she also apologized and said she would give me a "generous discount". Needless to say, I was charged full price. Please train your staff to offer a drink next time there's a mistake and a customer is left to wait for their food for an extended period of time. They just ignored me. read more

The food was good, the service was awful. Our server was Avery. She said they were in the middle of some construction and their bar was not easily accessible, so I will give some slack on that. But we had to ask if our drinks were coming , after our food had already come out. We also had to ask for a side salad that was supposed to be a starter, but she forgot and didn't bring it out until after we were almost done. Had to ask multiple times for water refills and for to go boxes. And while 3/4 of the meals were really delicious, half the salmon was literally raw. We let the server know and all she said was "oh sorry to hear that. Here's your bill" and walked away. We had to flag her down and ask them to make it right because she was only able to eat half her meal. Over all the experience was kind of chaotic. This place is located across from the movie theater. From the outside it looks small but there is some depth to it. It has has some interesting decor. I had the skinny margarita which was refreshing. I ordered a few things to try. We got the salsa flight: the chips are served in a large round instead of triangles and are quite thick. The corn tamal is sweet and hearty, the refried black beans have a light dusting of cheese on them and are tasty. The Mexican rice was as expected and the service was quite friendly. Stopped in during a bit of a rush. Decor is under construction so nothing to impress yet. Flying solo, so just went with the Salsa Flight and a trio of tacos. The fresh made chips and salsa selection was excellent, including the best salsa I think I've ever had. Fantastic flavors and not like anything generic you'd get elsewhere. The carnitas taco was great, meat could've been shredded a bit more to make it easier to bite, but super minor gripe. The Al Pastor taco was so good, with distinctive flavors and great balance. But best for last, the carnitas taco was hands down the best I've had in over 5 years. The meat was marinated and cooked to perfection. House margarita was good and not expensive, and speaking of reasonable prices, it all came in at a very good price point. I would seek this place out again next time I'm close. read more

My spouse went to Sazon on Saturday, 1/21 for dinner. The food was good but the service was terrible! Also there isn't any ambiance. It took a long time for us to get our food and we noticed that other patrons had to wait a long time too. First when we arrived, there was a waiter and a waitress that was having a hard time keeping up, then later more staff arrived. There was a woman at the back entrance that was seating patrons but that's all she seemed to be doing. It seems to me that when it's that busy, she could have helped the other staff. There was also a couple of kids that showed up, I'm assuming it's the owners kids. They definitely need to better organize their wait and kitchen staff. read more

This is for my review on May 5th. We had a confirmed reservation set online that day and they turned us away because we did not make a reservation 24 hours in advance. I know that this is a system error but the host was extremely rude to us and turned us away. She refused to seat us even though we had a confirmed email confirmation with our reservation. Three different style salsas and fresh fried corn tortillas that were lightly seasoned. The Cadillac margarita was really well balanced and full of authentic flavor. The carnitas were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I had the Baja enchiladas. These were beyond good. The flavors burst in your mouth. From the lightly spicy sauce you bite into a fresh made tortilla with lobster and shrimp with corn and Serrano peppers to balance the palette. It was paired with a conical rice and sweet fried plantains and that mix of spice and sweet were so delicious. We will be coming here again. I've been twice now and will certainly go many more times. The service is attentive, friendly and efficient. The menu offers some unique takes on standard fare and the spicing is truly wonderful. The tastes are flavorful and linger nicely. We had members of our party with specific dietary restrictions and both visits the servers worked with them to be accommodating. I saw someone on Facebook leave a review that popped up on my feed- which lead me to reading a bunch of other great reviews so we decided to give this new restaurant a try tonight for dinner. We are a party of 5, with 3 older sons- so we tried to call and make a reservation- but instead just decided to go ahead and try without a reservation. It's kind of set up different- you park in what is actually the back of the restaurant- but I suppose you should walk around to the front- near the theater. We were sat immediately. It was busy- but service was attentive and great! We weren't given actual menus but we easily accessed it from our phones. The owner came over and greeted us and gave us recommendations for drinks- they explained that they are in the process of obtaining their liquor license- but this wasn't a big deal for us- instead we opted for their agua fresca- and horchata- everything was made from scratch and you could tell .. they were DELICIOUS.. the horchata had cinnamon sprinkled over the top.. sooo good!! Also- side note.. the type of pebble ice they use is enough to get me to come back- it's all in the details with this place. We got the salsa flight- which was delicious. They serve it in full tortilla that you break up into pieces- with 3 delicious salsas. We ordered a little bit of everything- the Carne Asada might be the best I've ever had.. we tried the Puebla Relleno and a bunch of the street tacos.. everything was insanely good. The flavors were on point. The corn tamale was so good- I will dream of this meal for a long time. We ordered the churros and the plantana split for dessert.. everything was so good. I am already planning our next visit. The staff were all so hyped and smiling- and the overall experience was perfect. You can tell when the staff are excited to be there- you can taste it in the food. I have not had a better meal in a long long time. Excited to try their special tequilas when they open their bar!! Pastor burrito was fantastic (needed to substitute the pastor)...rice, tortilla, creamy refried beans and guacamole were all amazing, but over the top when they add a nice layer of queso to it. $2 Tuesday taco was steak, which was really nice.
