The food was amazing! But the service, not so much. Bad service: I asked twice for a paper menu and had to get up out of my chair to ask a third time. My mother asked for salsa, twice, and had to wait to eat until served. We asked for a box twice. When we got it, the lid didn't fit. The manager went to get the correct one and she never returned. Memorable, yummy goodness: We ordered the fundido, oxajacan chicken (spicy, but the best), and chicken quesadilla. I would recommend getting tortillas with the oxajacan chicken and substitute the aioli that comes with the quesadilla with the salsa morita. I will go again. Today was only our second time here, and we can't wait to come back. Ruben is the most amazing server! He's so friendly and makes you feel welcome, which in this day and age is hard to find in a restaurant. We started out with the Salsa Flight and the Bebe Rellenos, which are their Stuffed Jalapeños. They are wrapped in crispy bacon and have the most amazing flavor. My husband and I shared the Hanger Steak Fajitas, and they were amazing, the best we've ever had!! Amazing food. A bit pricey but it's good. Delicious carne asada street taco - I do wish it had cheese though. The hanger steak quesadilla was delicious but I'd prefer it didn't come smothered in the salsa as the portion is so big I like to save half and reheat for another meal later on. The Elote is incredible but since I ordered takeout I'd prefer an option to have it carved in a bowl instead of having to carve it myself at home. We had a great time at Sazon for my partner's birthday! We had a large group, and we're seated immediately and waited on by Jose, who did a great job checking in on us. And, with the kitchen running a bit behind, served our party with chips and salsa while waiting. They even held our cake in the kitchen and brought it out with plates and utensils at the end of our meal. They went above and beyond with a signed birthday card from the staff and a shooter of tequila to take home as a gift. Such a sweet act of kindness, my partner really appreciated that. All the food was delicious, nothing lacking in flavor, and portions were generous. Everyone was impressed, and we have quite a few foodies who are serious about Mexican food in our group, let me tell you. This restraunt has great food and service! We came here for the first time the other day and really enjoyed it. It's unfortunate that they don't have outside seating as it's a pretty location and the inside is a bit small. Single stall restroom as well. Regarding the food it was amazing, such an original menu with delicious foods such as fried plantains and table side guacamole!! I got the carnitas and it was such a generous portion, I had leftovers for days it was amazing. The cocktails are next level. The spicy one was so delicious we tried to ask for the recipe! I can't seem to find a cocktail menu anywhere online though, so I'm not sure what it was called. Food is decent; the salsa flight is served in three of the tiniest bowls, basically serves maybe one person. Service was very slow. Out of four of us, 3 recieved their food in an ok amount of time. My two tacos, I believe we're forgotten about, so waited another 10 minutes. Drinks took forever...my wife amd I ordered the same drinks...hers came out first, I continued waited for mine. Was odd. You will leave with the kitchen/fry odor, so be forewarned. There were a lot of high hopes with all the positive talk about it; we left disappointed and probably won't return. My friend and I stopped here for a quick drink and appetizer. We were just going to have nachos but our server (Hannah), encouraged us to try the molcajete. It was delicious. Honestly, the best chips ever. I'm wishing I would have gotten an order to bring home. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming, and everyone was so friendly that we decided to stay longer and split a steak quesadilla which was also excellent. Hannah was an excellent server. Our drinks and water were always refilled, and she was friendly and knowledgeable. The manager (owner?) stopped by to check on our service and she was also very friendly and helpful. I have almost forgotten what good service is like. She gave me hope that it may return some day. I live on the other side of the city but will make sure to stop in again. Great food and the service was good at lunch time. Street tacos tasted great, I tried three different tacos and each had a uniquely bold flavor that elevated the meal. Biggest downside to this restaurant is how difficult it is to find in the shopping center. They are currently nestled in between a Covid testing center and the wings place. First time trying this place. Overall very good with a few thing to keep away the fifth star. Food was excellent and very creative. Pricing a little north of moderate. The few things was service was a little inattentive but not bad, and part might be an newer waitress. She was very nice though. The second was no Sangria even though on the menu and the tres leche was very good but didn't have the chocolate or fruit that said on the menu. It was though very good. This is a new and hidden gem. Went there for the first time tonight. We'll definitely be back. First, food was excellent. Carne Asada was huge, cooked to perfection. The masa, plantains, tortillas were especially tasteful. Spices were excellent. We had a sopapilla and it, too, was excellent. Came with just enough honey, ice cream and whipped cream, topped with strawberries. Second, service was very, very good. Attentive but not overbearing. Third, just be aware, there is no alcohol yet. We were ready for a Margarita after our GPS couldn't find Sazon, but were determined to go try a new Mexican/Latin place with rave review from my cousin. Two freshly made Margaritas hit the spot with crushed ice in a chilled glass along with unique chips accompanied by creatively made salsas. Must note the chips consisted of an entire tortilla, fried to perfection. We ordered a variety of street tacos: Veggie with fresh squash/tomato/corn with cheese, and one marinated beef/tender and tasty. When it arrived, our waiter made sure I knew that the chef gave me an extra "free" beef taco, which was greatly appreciated. My husband's beef tacos and carnitas were unique and tasty as well. We both enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant, which gave us true feeling of being in Mexico, combined with wait staff that smiled and treated us like we were special customers. read more

Fairly new restaurant. I'd give it 3.5 if I could but they still need to work out some of the kinks. Ambiance lacks. Hostess stand is on the UA theater side and people came in on the other side where you park. Not sure why they put the stand on the less used entrance and people were constantly rerouted by our table to the other entrance. Did not see a bar to sit at? It may have been in the smaller room? Bar for making drinks was upstairs and looked cute. Outdoor seating would be great, but there was none. Server was young, entitled, snarky and not helpful. Others were very nice though. Margarita did not taste like it had tequila in it and for $14 I expect to taste a little alcohol. Beer and wine was nicely priced at $6. The food was pretty wonderful. Had the table side guac. I didn't love the huge tostada chips and would ask for the ones they serve with Nachos next time. Baja enchiladas were delicious and the rice is AMAZING. Not sure what was in it and I don't usually like rice but this was awesome. Overall food was Very flavorful and tasty but came out cold. I first want to say that this was my FIRST time ever going to Sazon. We walked in + got seated right away, which was awesome. But then we sat there for 10 minutes, with servers walking by, making eye contact + we did not get greeted nor even have waters served to us. I tried flagging down the hostess, which was sitting up front ON HER PHONE the entire time we were there. I had to grab another server, who didn't seem interested in helping us at all. I told her we have been waiting here for 10 mins, with NO ONE coming up to us. She half way apologized, took our order + we still had to ask for waters from another server. :( Not once did they come by for refills or to ask how we were doing, tables that sat down way after us were being served numerous times. It was almost like we weren't there. My husband and I felt VERY VERY uncomfortable. I gave it ONE star bc the food was actually REALLY SUPER FREAKING DELICIOUS and I wish I could say I would be back for it, but I will never go back to Sazon. I don't know how restaurants with ZERO (zero!) customer service stay in business. IF you like good food but crappy service, go to Sazon. read more

This place is incredible! Four of us came here and we all loved everything we got. We started with the Queso and we really enjoyed this with floured tortillas. I got the lobster (Baja) enchiladas... delicious!!! We also got the carne asada it was cooked perfectly. And the carnitas was amazing and it was piled high. Much, much better than your average gringomex (texmex is a different thing) that you find around. Why with such a large Latino from Mexican heritage population in Colorado is so hard to find decent Mexican food is beyond me. However, Sazon was very good and a welcomed exception. Nachos were made with some sorta cheese whizz and lacked a lot of flavor. Shrimp fajitas were awful and once again lacked a lot of flavor! Didn't come out sizzling either. Pastor taco was pretty tasty though not tasty enough to cost $5. Ambiance was pretty weird. It looked half built and had stand up heaters all over the place. Food is great. Owner is super nice. Service was good. However, why would you open a restaurant that is not ready to open?? Sheets of plastic tapes to the ceiling down to the floor waving in the cold breeze is not attractive to face while eating. They have construction heating lamps with large orange cords up everywhere to heat the room. No HVAC?? Atmosphere was subpar. Tacky. I'm hopeful things will be much better once the construction is done, and the restaurant is actually ready to impress the public. read more

It was awful but we walked through the restaurant where we were greeted and sat down towards the front where the smell did wear off. We ordered the table side guacamole, which was very good. We thought the homemade chips were a bit over cooked though. Prickly pear and house margaritas were very tasty. Ordered a burrito and the Oaxacan Chicken. The chicken was tender and tasty, didn't care for the rice. Burrito was good but covered with too much queso. We walked out the same way we came in due to where we parked.
