I highly recommend this organization to foster or adopt a pet! Very professional and caring people who led me to my sweet angel kitty! I don't know how to thank them enough! XOXO

This was my foster Clyde. Because of SAYV, he was able to be fostered, loved, regain strength, weight and given hope! Thank you SAYV!

SAYv is a wonderful organization and I just had to jump in to give my review after seeing someone outright lie and tell half truths. I've been associated with this rescue for 2 1/2 years as a volunteer, as a foster and as an adopter. This small rescue cares so deeply about their animals and would do literally anything to help them recover from their humans who have failed them and live their best lives going forward. SAYv does everything in their power to make sure the adopter is solid, and a good fit for the animals, but unfortunately the process is not fail proof. Some people should never be pet owners! Thank you SAYv for the wonderful things you do to give these animals a chance at a better life!

Ace's mom here! Everyone at this rescue is absolutely wonderful. Jackie and Darica and everyone else i've come in contact with have been so helpful in my adoption of Ace. I could tell that they really love him. I am so happy to see them stand up for their animals because someone needs to. They've been failed by humans already. I've rescued all my pups and i currently have 3. It's really sad to see people bash a rescue organization. Rescues do what they can and do the grunt work of saving these animals that people have discarded. They truly care. If you're rescuing a pup you should always know nothing is guaranteed and it's up to YOU. A lot of these dogs have come from trauma yet humans keep failing them over and over again and think they are here to serve us. It blows my mind. It's really sad to see what is going on with rescue right now. Thank you for bringing Ace into our lives. KUDOS TO THE WHOLE sayV TEAM!!!! We appreciate ya'll so much!

This organization posted in petfinder that kittens can be adopted separately but they wont honor it. They only let you adopt 2 kittens or more which i think is crazy. Because possibility of someone adopting 2 cats its so low so eventually these kittens become adults and no ones wants them. Mind you they are sitting in cages in your closest petsmart. Wouldn't it be better let one person adopt 1 kitten and give cat a nice life? My kids and myself were very upset. Not to mention their application is like getting a citizenship or smth and then 10 steps to evaluate you by calling your friends, employers, vets. Dont waste your time and $$$. They are not in it for the animals and their welfare.

The owners response after the attack.

I'm not sure why I have to give a 1-star review because they don't even deserve that. Two nights ago the dog we adopted less than 3 weeks ago bolted from the front door while my wife walked outside. He saw a lady walking a dog across the street, without control he blew past our two children a 2 and 3-year-old, knocking over my wife and getting outside. He proceeded to run across the street knocking down an old woman and then started to attack the dog she was walking which was one-fifth his size, he's between 150-160 pounds. Something else they falsified on the adoption information, as well as his aggressive history. By the time I got to the dogs the LADY walking her dog maced our dog, I got sprayed as well as she and my wife. After a few minutes, I was finally able to corral him with the help of two other neighbors freeing the other dog and removing them from sight. The police arrived seconds later and there was a police report filed and we were cited. The police told me they would have taken any measures necessary to subdue the dog in a situation like this. Thank god I was home that night because if I wouldn't have been there I have no idea how bad this situation could have gotten. The other dog is okay now, but the hospital bills are around the 1200-1500 dollar mark depending on how he heals and whatever comes up from the follow-up. I got mace all over me from grabbing the dogs, yes my eyes, arms, and legs, everywhere. I received multiple lacerations from my arms down to my knees, I got a massive contusion on my head as well as my extremities. My wife also received minor injuries and again got mace all over her arms as well. It's recently come to my attention that this organization is trying to bolster its reviews by having people claim "half-truths or lies". At the end of the day, the people who are posting these retaliatory reviews should be ashamed of themselves. They weren't there and they've clearly done this not knowing the whole story and in reprisal against the negative review. No one knows what happened other than myself my wife and the lady whose dog was attacked. I was the one who had to speak to the police after the incident as well as with everyone involved giving the details of the incident, but then again I'm not surprised by the caliber of people that are trying to defend this organization, because when we informed them the next day that the cops recommended we board the dog for the evening. The owner of the organization reached out and immediately turned to name-calling. Instead of trying to understand the situation, Jackie immediately turned it into a name-calling and an ignorance contest. I'm not sure how an organization like this has made it so long considering how we were treated. No one here is innocent, and this attack could have and should have been significantly worse. Although according to the owner, the blame is solely on us, yes she said that as well. No one at sayv cares about the safety of our children the ACTUAL details of the attack, or the extent of the damages done to the people and animals involved with it. The fact that there are retaliatory reviews trying to save face claiming falsehood and lies, an owner that can't control her words, showing just how ugly she is during a traumatic event, and the lack of concern for any of the parties involved is appalling, to say the least. How different would this conversation be if I wasn't there and able to corral our dog? Would he have killed the other dog, attacked its owner, or would the cops have been left with no other choice than to take drastic measures? The total disregard to try and understand the details of this situation, then to go out of their way and write false reviews while hiding behind ignorance and the blatant lack of concern for the dogs, the children, or any of the people that were injured or traumatized from this event is beyond unacceptable I couldn't in any capacity recommend this adoption agency to anyone. The wildest part is there's even more but this, but this has gone long enough.

I was so excited to visit during their highly touted "open viewing" day because I just retired and…read morehave been looking for a small dog now that I will be home all day. Unfortunately, "open viewing" meant looking at these poor animals inside their small cages, which did not even have water, a blanket, or a toy for comfort. Every single dog was stressed and laying on a hard metal floor. Scared dogs were next to ones who barked nonstop. I asked the worker if but they ever got out of those small cages, and she said it depended on how many volunteers they had. It was heartbreaking to see the animals like that without even a towel to lay on or bowl of water. Two siblings had arrived together but were separated and kept on opposite sides of the room so they couldn't even see each other! There is no excuse for that. The worker could not answer even basic questions about ANYA of the dogs, and would not let me meet the dog I was interested in or even let her sniff my fingers to see how she reacted. She refused to have the dog cat- tested unless I had an approved application on file. Why would I spend 2 hours filling out a long, detailed application, attach documents and photos, and bother my references before I even knew whether the dog would be okay with my cats? She told me they didn't want to waste their time if people weren't serious about adopting. I guess it's ok to waste my time filling out a lengthy application for a dog I haven't even met yet. This is NOT the way to find animals loving homes!

There's only one person working here and it was really busy for that one person to handle. She was really friendly and really knows the dogs and her passion shows. I can't believe I hadn't reviewed Adopt previously. My dear sweet Calliecakes is from this shelter,…read moreso I am forever grateful that they rescued her. My parents saw her at the shelter back in 2012 and texted me her photo (because they knew I wanted a cat), and I was like "yes absolutely I want her I will come get her." And the rest is history -- it's been 11 great years with my bestie (and hopefully many more). And then a year later, almost to the day, my parents were like "hey let's go to Adopt" the day after Thanksgiving and they ended up getting a cat (their second) for themselves. I haven't been back to the shelter since 2013 when I went with them when they decided to get their cat, but at that time the shelter was super nice and they had several rooms where cats could roam free. It was a nice, no-stress situation to be able to sit on a sofa or on the floor and have the cats come check you out. So many snuggles. And I follow them on Instagram and they continue to do great work and care deeply for the animals they rescue. Definitely check them out if you are looking for a new best friend! And now enjoy the cat photo spam/cat tax :)

I adopted the most precious kitten from here-his name is Ian however I'm changing it to Peanut…read morebecause he's so small. Very healthy kitten. He's lovable, playful, and an overall great kitty!!! Highly satisfied

Their application literally has a line in bold at the bottom about how you need to speak to them…read morerespectfully as a reflection of how you would treat the animal. Seemed odd that you need to state that but ok. The very first response I got from them after the application was submitted...they were rude to me! I now see why they have the line in there. They create the reaction they receive! I literally burst out laughing. I applied for a dog with 1 single photo and also inquired about a dog with zero photos. They told me that if they had a photo of the dog with no photos it would be on the website. So you're trying to adopt out a dog with no picture? They told me I am only allowed to meet the dog I am approved for and I'm only allowed to apply for 1 dog and I am not allowed to "abuse" the time of the animal hospital employees where the animals are housed. I guess if you are trying to be thorough about making sure an animal is going to a good home and in return you are trying to be careful about the animal that you are adopting..it would not be considered an "abuse" of time. Also, this was 1 email in...not many emails or requesting many visits. Email #1 I was told that I cannot abuse the time of the animal shelter employees. There were A LOT of hoops they expect the adopters to go through (paperwork, proof of vaccines on existing pets, etc) but very little information given on their end, paired with really foul responses (again, that language at the bottom of the application was the giveaway) and we left it that someone would call to give me some information on the background on the dog. Nobody called. The application language, lack of photos and higher than normal adoption fee was the giveaway from the start. AVOID.
