Buffalo Chicken Taco

So I think there are new owners so the name is now Say Taco instead of Sayulita. I have had Sayulita bookmarked since I moved to Ocala and finally made it! I was meeting friends for lunch. 2 of us are fairly new to Ocala so the other friend suggested here and I said yes immediately! I was unsure of what I wanted so I reviewed the menu for a while after sitting down. We decided to sit inside, at a high top. The bartender came around to greet us and serve us. He was very attentive. Although it was not super busy, they had a massive to go/ catering order so that took up some time in the kitchen. It's okay because we were catching up and in no rush to eat. I ordered a buffalo chicken taco and a side of street corn initially, which both were delicious. I was still hungry so I ordered another buffalo chicken taco. I ordered a burrito for my husband to go, which he said was delicious. We did not have alcohol but they have a full bar with plenty of specials. There is also a large patio outside, with plenty of seating. I will definitely be back!

Food was really good! Enjoyed sitting at the bar to get some work done. Very friendly bartender too!

Truly the best tacos I've ever had. We were on a roadtrip back to Orlando and stopped here for lunch. The staff was so nice and quick, the restaurant seems like a great place to hangout, and everything was delicious. 11/10 would highly recommend

Great Owners. Deep Cleaning, Fresh Faces, Fresh ingredients and Friendly Staff. Inside and Outside eating. Great place to sit back, have a beverage and get some tacos. They brought over part of their menu from one of their other restaurants as well. You can get Tex Mex and also some of there best items from other locations. Check out pics of menus but besides tacos, burritos and bowls you can get wings, burgers, sandwiches etc. They are bringing this location back and it's here to stay. This side of Downtown Ocala is where you want to be. All the new growth will be over here and Darren, Chris and all the staff will make sure this place will succeed. Thanks for saving this location. Be back soon. We are here early in its stage of a full opening. Can't wait to see this place start rocking again. Outside has space for live music, games and fresh air. See you all again real soon.

Was last at Sayulita Taqueria in August before the management/name change! Visited Say Taco tonight and we got the 2 tacos + 1 side for $10 deal, highly recommend! I got the 2 veggie tacos, the avocado one was great highly recommend. The squash/zucchini one was alright but not as much flavor so next time I'll get 2 avo ones! I got beans/rice side but next time Id probs get plantains! He got the birria taco and chicken/avo taco - the chicken/avo taco was extremely spicy and he has a high spice tolerance so beware! The passionfruit and mango margs were very reasonably priced at $7 each but we felt their potency was low and sweetness very high. Overall loved the outdoor seating which was the same as last time we were here. The atmosphere, music, and vibe is 10/10 and highly recommend this spot for a golden hour/dusk spot! Excited to come back!!

If you're looking for a chill and relaxing and fun cantina style Mexican dinner in Ocala, look no further than this spot. If you decide to sit out in the terrace, pick a table and the waiting staff will come to you. They have really nice signature drinks monthly and they don't disappoint. They have a full bar inside and the atmosphere is so relaxed. You're a stones throw from the famous Ocala downtown square, where there is lots to see and do.

My wife and I visited here previously so as we continued our journey south we decided to stop by and enjoy a quick bite before getting back into I-75. We stopped in on $1 wing Wednesday and ordered garlic and parmesan wings, Philly cheesesteak, and a chicken and rice. The wings tasted good but they were not garlic and parm flavored. This did not stop me from eating them though! The cheesesteak was perfect as were the fries. The chicken and rice was returned and a new one was made because the chicken looked old and was very dry. There was no fuss or issues with the return but if this was a to-go order we would've been highly upset. Thankfully the service here is good so we had no issues as I stated previously.

What a great little find in downtown Ocala! I needed a spot that was walking distance from the Hilton Garden Inn where we were staying and that also had vegan options, and this was the spot that hit all the marks. The outside is simple and unassuming, but the inside is cute and trendy with a nice outdoor patio as well. Food and service were great. Would definitely come back!

I was in Ocala getting my car serviced and decided to grab a bite to go. This place is located in Downtown Ocala and hidden but a gem. I have read so many reviews on the tacos and the variety and I needed to check them out. When walking into the Sayulita, it's a cool, chill atmosphere. They have their menu blown up on the wall as you wait in the line to glance over. Based on the reviews - the Korean taco was a must try, so I decided on the Korean, the shrimp, and the fresh catch tacos. Looking over their daily special menu was an eye catcher that would definitely bring me back in from mojito Mondays to all day happy hour on Thursdays. Ordering my meal to go was a breeze and I patiently waited for about 10 minutes before my food was brought out to me. Since they were out of blue corn tortilla, I order all of my tacos on homemade corn. Starting with the Korean taco, this was definitely my favorite. The sweetness mixed with that kick of heat was a nice touch and I looked at the taco twice like wow. The bite from the coleslaw was a nice crunch factor into the taco since they were falling apart from the homemade tortilla. The shrimp was good as well, as it came with a boom boom sauce - I would say similar to bang bang sauce. The shrimp was nice and juicy and the pickled cabbage gave it a nice twang. Lastly, the fresh catch which was a crispy white fish - and crisped very nicely. It was topped with the pickled cabbage, mayo, and avocado. This was good but I wish it was blackened to give more of a baja taste. However, my meal was very good and also the prices here are super affordable - each taco was under $5. I really want to go back so I can have a full dine in experience where I can grab a drink and a sweet treat to end with. If you're in the Ocala area looking for chill ambience but great flavor, check out Sayulita Taqueria.

Outside area with picnic tables, beanbag toss, and you can take your dog.

Pricey but good. The place is cool, laid back and fun. It's not the best Mexican food but it's passable.

Meh. It wasn't what I would call great Mexican food. I hate to say that the atmosphere outside is better than the food inside by far.

The kitchen is in full view, and immaculate. The staff were all super friendly and awesome. The many craft beers and unique flavors were amazing. Today I had the watermelon beer, which was beyond refreshing, and crisp. The board at the bar is updated daily and you can sample any of the beers upon request. We loved the cozy vibe of the place and our server was absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately, the ramen left a lot to be desired. I ordered the miso ramen and the broth was honestly like drinking water, completely bland and with almost no flavor. I tried the ramen my friends ordered as well, and unfortunately, none of them had much flavor either. The shoyu had the most flavor out of the ones we tried, but even that one was still missing something. Our server was amazing, though. She offered to change my bowl, but since I had already tried the other ramen options, I decided to keep it. She brought me soy sauce and spicy oil, which definitely helped. I also tried the pork gyozas and unfortunately they weren't the best I've had. I probably wouldn't come back for the food, but I'd definitely stop by for a beer if I'm in the area. They had some really interesting options and they were nice and cold!

It's difficult not to judge this place a little when you pull in and park, not that it's bad by any means I actually thought the entrance was well done but what a transition when you walk through the door. Nice full length bar with lots of beers on tap, an open kitchen and a number of high top and floor level tables well placed with plenty of room to get comfortable. We seated ourselves and was immediately greeted and welcomed - the staff here is excellent and they all worked well together I liked that you can see the kitchen and watch them prepare the massive amount of offerings on the detailed menu. I immediately noticed the team work and that nothing left the kitchen without the lead chef looking things over. We decided to share a few item after placing our drink orders so we started with the old frenchy prime rib dip with a delicious au jus and baked potato wedges also a pepperoni, sausage and jalapeño pizza, everything was on point, served hot and well executed. This was a lot of food so I'll have to return for the smoked wings they looked amazing, I made a bad decision not to order them to go no doubt these would heat up well later. If your in the area look no further this is a gem of a restaurant...

I think they had 25 taps and the waitress was happy to bring us samples of a bunch before we made up our mind. We both ended up with a stout. We had a queso/sloppy Joe mixed dip as an app. While very tasty, it wasn't very hot (temp), which was a problem with much of the food. We had a pizza and fish tacos for mains. We also shared a cheesecake (or was it key lime) for desert. All were good, except for temp. The best part is with tax and tip dinner was only around $70.

We were starving and tired from renovations all day and unpacking when we first moved to the area. When we arrived our first time, it was not busy. There were two tables of people and I don't remember many people sitting at the bar. We took seats at the bar and although we were greeted immediately, it took a very long time for the bartender to return and take our order. I will say they do have a large selection of beers, on draft, bottles, and cans. They also have hard seltzers and wine available. We only ordered food our first visit. We both ordered burgers, which included fries. Our burgers took some time to come out but they were busy. The burger was okay, not the best but not the worst. I ordered a Guinness and it was not poured properly so the taste was off the first couple of sips. We visited another time or two just for drinks. The service was slow each time we visited, which was a mix of business but also lack of attentiveness. I came across a video on social media discussing they temporarily closed due to structural issues so I think until that is repaired, they are required to shut down. If they do open again, it is always an option and a rare late night option in the area. They usually have events most of the time and they have outdoor seating as well.

The service is EXCELLENT! No waiting, no flagging down a waitress. They were beyond attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and so polite. We had a problem with the wings being stone cold and my husband's Shrimp Po' Girl sandwich was inedible because the shrimp were also stone cold, it was about 9" long and wasn't even cut in half so he could pick it up and eat it. My sweet and smoky rubbed wings were spot on, though. So were my husband's fries. Seasonings were spot on and perfectly fried without being greasy in the slightest. Our appetizer was the fried mushrooms. Usually, when you order fried mushrooms, they dump them out of a bag pulled from the freezer. THESE were totally different and super delicious! Almost like they were freshly hand-breaded and fried! Look at the pictures! Amazing! We were so full by the end that we took home 10 wings even though I only ordered 20 to begin with. Somehow my husband managed to plow through his entire sandwich and most of his fries (I helped just because they were so good) and his help with my wings didn't really make a dent in them, although he gets a star for good effort lol. Our first batch of bbq sauced wings were cold, as was my husband's shrimp in his po' girl sandwich, but both were quickly rectified by our fabulous waitress, Sarah. She divulged to us that she had only been working here a week, but she's doing one helluva job (in our opinion). Kept her cool and was well organized, made sure things were perfect for the customer. All great characteristics of a great waitress. All in all, excellent food, great tvs to watch the SuperBowl on and a smattering of every age group, ethnicity and peoples were gathered here tonight to watch "The Big Game" together!
